BusinessRe: Middle East Tensions Threaten Shipping Routes, Raise Cost Concerns For Nigeria, by PrincessofDSS(f): 7:13am On Mar 14
MOST NIGERIANS ARE SO IGNORANT AND BLINDED BY RELIGION TO THE EXTENT THAT THEY CANNOT THINK FOR THEMSELVES!!!!

Most of the imported products that we use comes from CHINA..

most ships traveling from **China to **West Africa do not pass through the **Strait of Hormuz.

Why?

The **Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage between **Iran and **Oman that mainly serves ships going into or out of the Persian Gulf (for example to **Saudi Arabia, **Kuwait, **Qatar, **United Arab Emirates, or **Iraq).

If a ship starts in China, it normally never needs to enter the Persian Gulf, so it avoids that strait.

Typical route from China to West Africa

A common shipping route is:
1. South China Sea
2. Strait of Malacca
3. Indian Ocean
4. Bab el‑Mandeb
5. Red Sea
6. Suez Canal
7. Mediterranean Sea
8. Strait of Gibraltar
9. **Atlantic Ocean → West Africa

Alternative route

Some ships instead go:
• Indian Ocean → around the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa → Atlantic Ocean → West Africa

When ships would use the Strait of Hormuz

They would only go through **Strait of Hormuz if the ship is:
• loading oil or cargo from the Persian Gulf, or
• stopping at ports like **Dubai or **Abu Dhabi.

Nairaland GeneralA Pan-southern Call For Unity, Progress, And Shared Purpose by PrincessofDSS(op): 8:23am On Dec 20, 2025
A Pan-Southern Call for Unity, Progress, and Shared Purpose

Nigeria’s strength has always rested in its diversity, but its progress depends on cooperation. Across the South West, South East, and South South, millions of citizens share common aspirations: security for families, opportunities for young people, fair access to resources, and leadership that delivers results. A pan-southern outlook—grounded in mutual respect and shared purpose—offers a powerful path toward these goals.

The southern regions are bound by complementary strengths. The South West’s innovation, commerce, and creative industries; the South East’s enterprise, manufacturing spirit, and resilient networks; and the South South’s energy resources, waterways, and strategic ports together form an engine for national growth. When these strengths are aligned, they create jobs, attract investment, and deepen Nigeria’s competitiveness in Africa and beyond.

Unity does not mean uniformity. Each region has its history, culture, and priorities. But cooperation allows diversity to become an advantage rather than a fault line. On infrastructure, coordinated planning can link ports to rail and roads, reduce logistics costs, and unlock regional value chains. On education and skills, shared investments can prepare young Nigerians for technology, manufacturing, and the green economy. On security and governance, collaboration can strengthen institutions and restore public trust.

A pan-southern partnership also speaks to fairness. Many citizens across the South feel the urgency of inclusive growth, accountable leadership, and a federal system that rewards productivity. Working together on these principles amplifies voices and improves outcomes—without diminishing anyone else. It is not about rivalry; it is about responsibility.

Crucially, unity must be people-centered. Market traders, artisans, students, farmers, entrepreneurs, and professionals across the South experience similar challenges: rising costs, limited access to finance, and the need for reliable public services. Policies that support small businesses, expand credit, modernize agriculture, and protect the vulnerable resonate across regional lines. When leaders listen to these shared concerns, cooperation becomes practical, not abstract.

History offers lessons. Periods of regional collaboration have delivered reforms, growth, and stability. Where dialogue replaced division, progress followed. Today’s challenges—economic transition, climate risks, global competition—are too complex for isolated approaches. Collective action is not optional; it is essential.

A pan-southern vision invites partnership with all Nigerians while affirming the value of regional cooperation. It calls for leaders who prioritize competence, inclusion, and delivery; citizens who engage peacefully and thoughtfully; and institutions that serve the common good.

The future can be built together. By embracing unity rooted in respect and shared interests, the South can contribute decisively to a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria—one where collaboration triumphs over division and progress is measured by the well-being of all.

PoliticsRe: We Are Going To Do Things Nigeria Won’t Be Happy About - Trump by PrincessofDSS(f): 11:29pm On Nov 07, 2025
SenatorCharles1:
The US Navy Seal entered Pakistani territory and took out Osama Bin Ladin without permission from the government of Pakistan knowing fully well that if they had, Intel would have leaked to the terrorists camp and Osima would have escaped.

Trump and the US department of War should immediately match words with action. Precision drones and satellites images should be hovering the Northern part of Nigeria by now and monitoring movement of bandits for eventual target strike
My guy, don’t under rate those Americans, just be sure that if they’re going to strike or when they’re going to strike, no one will see them coming!!!!! NOT EVEN the Nigerian government!!

Bros you are still using banks ? Omo Gtbank made me run from banking system, every time I went to deposit money I would see a client " paraing " that N35,000 was taking out without his permission, The next time I would go another customer would be shouting over N15,000, the last straw was N25,000 with a customer demanding a refund. I just left the N10,000 I had saved with the bank and bid the banking system goodbye. I was relearning how to put money in a bank after a decade of putting money inside mattress.
Mattress Bank of Nigeria 😂😂😂😂 our customers will not be affected with this new tax law, so go and open an account now
