Good day all.
Apart from TOEFL, is GRE compulsory before admission is offered to someone applying for a PhD program in either social sciences or humanities?
Thank you.

I don't really know much about PHD but I think with your MSC score + publication(s). It's fine.

You can checkout these sites

Best of luck!

Thank you.

@Arinze001, nwanne you have been feeding us with invaluable info. God will continue to bless you.

My question to you and others is this:
My CGPA is 2.8/5 (Bsc.)
and 4.07/5 (Msc.) due in September,2021.

If I'm applying for a PhD program, will my Bsc CGPA be a drawback to gaining admission as a PhD student?

Thank you.
Travel / Re: Polish Student Visa by princetx(m): 2:22pm On Jun 16, 2021
Hello, my CGPA in my Bsc is 2.82/5, but I got 3.92/5 in my Msc., If I'm applying for a PhD program, do you think my CGPA of 2.82 will only be assessed? Or will they admit me based on my most recent CGPA for Msc. which is 3.92.?

Again, my Msc result will be ready by Sept./Oct, 2021. Is there any way I can apply for a PhD program for February, 2022 intake without the Msc result, or should I just wait until I collect my result before applying?
Thank you.

I don't think it is about submitting the required documents. I did everything right the first time and I used 1.6m but was denied. Then I appealed with 900m and was granted visa. I met some people that used 650k and 700k that were granted visa in their first try. It's just luck I guess.

Good morning. What do you mean by you appealed with 900m?

A lot of people got their visas with N2 million (self-funded) because their tuition fees and accommodation appeared to be one of the cheapest in Poland. If you really understand the information on the Polish embassy website you would understand how easy it is to do it yourself. It is not all about a huge amount of money, but it is all about personalizing the calculation of the figures on the polish embassy website.

For example, the website states that:
7. Documents confirming the possession of financial resources to cover the costs of return travel and costs of stay in Poland (to be selected from the list - there is no obligation to present all of them). The minimum required amount of financial resources is as follows: 1) PLN 2 500 for the return trip, 2) the cost of accommodation shown on the basis of hotel or rental agreement, 3) PLN 701 for each month of stay (PLN 701 x 12 months = 8 412 PLN):

To personalize this according to your university, say the University of Opole,
return trip PLN 2,500 + Uni Opole student hostel PLN 390 per month X 12 months = PLN 4680 + living expenses PLN 701 per month X 12 months = PLN 8412. When you add all together the result will be = PLN 15592.
Using www.xe.com website PLN 1 = N112. So 15592 X 112 = N1,731,937.72Kobo
Source: Polish Embassy website. https://www.gov.pl/web/nigeria-en/d-type-national-visa

You see that it is not even up to 2 million naira. The above explanation is only going to favor the University of Opole admitted students if self-funded. The amount is expected to increase if someone is sponsoring you because that person is expected to have some money for himself after sponsoring you. This is what the polish embassy automatically expects you to know after reading their funding aspect.

Therefore, if you had read over and over this platform and didn't find the solution, have you read over and over the Polish embassy website?
Thanks.

Linda, I'm falling for you. Are you married?

When the visa is granted to you, you can withdraw the fund. You deposited it there because of the embassy/visa granting purpose. So the answer is yes.

@lindasweden, are you a female or male?
Travel / Re: Polish Student Visa by princetx(m): 12:57am On Jun 08, 2021
Greetings all. All I read here is application for Bsc. and Msc.
What about myself who want to go for a PhD program? Is the application process the same with that of Msc?

I was told that I will need to contact a professor in my intended school of study who will accept my research topic, before proceeding with other applications.

These Professors hardly respond to messages, especially when they are coming from Nigerians.

Does it mean one can not just apply directly to the school without passing through a Professor?

Abi make I kukuma apply for another Master's degree program and save myself from all these headache?
After all, the primary reason we de go there is 'icho ego oyibo', studying is secondary.

Good evening all. I'm expecting my Msc. result by September, 2021. Should I start applying for a PhD program now? Or do think I should wait till I receive my result?
I'm looking at applying for any section that will resume between January to March, 2022. Thank you.

Hello please it's urgent it's my first time on this thread. If you are asked to notarize or apostille does the apostille mean you will go to the embassy or you just go to the ministry of education and foreign affairs.

Whatever be the case, the fact is, you must go to ministry of education and ministry of foreign affairs to notorize your documents, so when you get there you ask them this question, they will give you the right answer.

do you need a student or an international passport or both to study in Korea, cause a lot of people are telling me both

There is nothing like student passport, what you need is an international passport where your student visa will be stamped. So, if they say you need both, they are correct.

Remember you'll submit your international passport to any embassy you want to do an interview.

It's on your passport that your visa will be stamped : approved or rejected
