PoliticsThe Popularity And Massive Cult-like Following Of Nnamdi Kanu by Princewill1(op): 2:24pm On Apr 25, 2017
The Igbos are so Republican that you can hardly in their history see anyone who commands respect across board like the lives of Tinubu in the west or Sultan and Buhari in the north.

Presently, there is no political, traditional or religious leader in the east who command crowd and respect like Nnamdi Kanu.

Is it: Ekwueme,Iwuanyawu,Orji Kalu,Arthur Eze,Governors, Senators, Obi of Onitsha,Mbaka etc all these people has limited power within their domain.

The massive cult-like following of KANU is increasing by the day.He is seen by some as a prophet, while some view him as both a political and religious leader. Tens of thousands of Igbo youths have converted to Judaism because of Kanu's Jewish teachings on radio. Come out on any Saturday morning on the streets of Aba or Onitsha, you will notice; mostly young people wearing Jewish kippah heading to the synagogue.

The fastest means to attract mob beating or attack in the east,is to talk ill of KANU in the public.

Nnamdi KANU is more or less a government. He has fixed 30th May as a sit at home day(public holiday), on that day you see that there is a government under a government.

i believe the mention of Biafra here is about the civil war genocide and like it happened in the other named countries. this is not an outright recognition or support of biafra.
Do you know that the mass killing of our people between 1967-1970 has not been recognized by Nigeria and the rest of the world as a genocide??

It is we Biafrans that are campaigning for it to be recognized as a genocide just as the world has recognized Holocaust, Armenia and Rwandan genocides.

This is the first time a world leader has recognized what happened to us in 1967-1970 as a genocide.

It is a major breakthrough for us and we are celebrating it.

By Vincent Ujumadu
Awka—THE Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has commended the government and people of Turkey for their support towards the restoration of Biafra.
IPOB media and publicity secretary, Mr. Emma Powerful said in a statement in Awka yesterday that the Turkish government had on April 7, 2017 recognized the people of Biafra in Turkey and the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who is being detained at the Kuje Prison, Abuja.
He said the Turkish government had also publicly pledged to put in motion an effective strategy that would help in the restoration of Biafra and facilitate the release of Kanu and others being detained along with him.
According to Powerful, Kanu had on two occasions, been granted bail by two separate courts, but was yet to be released by the government.
He said: “This recognition and support from the Turkish government proves to the entire world that the unique model of liberation adopted by our leader, Nnamdi Kanu, is yielding the desired results because Biafra is at an unprecedented height in terms of global acceptability and grassroots awareness.”
Powerful added that the Turkish government had also promised IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, that it would take the struggle for Biafra independence to the United Nations and other relevant organizations in the world, adding that Turkey’s action had opened the way for other countries of the world to stand bold to defend the people of Biafra in Nigeria.

I have been following the arguments, and at this point I want to correct some erroneous impressions.

1. The Biblical Eri has nothing to do with the "make-believe" Eri that has been associated with the Binin kingdom

2. There is an incontrovertible evidence that Eri was the Son of Gad who migrated and settled at the present place Umueri. Umueri means "Children of Eri"

And finally, whilst my ancestry and offcourse our progenitor has been traced to the Jews with clear evidence, I am very much proud as an Igbo man and not a Jew!
There is Ohaeri community in Umuahia. Ohaeri means people of eri.

" God Almighty has blessed them with the knowledge of the financial and industrial ways and means of turning sand into gold. It is their duty to open up and spread this knowledge among their ethnic neighbors in the near and far beyond of Africa in order to forge such an ever widening and concentric wave of financial solidarity among different ethnic groups in Nigeria and Africa, that will empower each African ethnic group to yield its best of social and industrial products for the common good of all Africans and to the glory of God Almighty."

The Igbo spirit is not a conquering spirit, an imperial spirit or an exploiting spirit. The Igbo spirit is an Afro centric spirit, a competitive spirit, a liberating spirit and a spirit that restores.

What then are the attributes of the Igbo spirit? One, it is God-fearing and God loving. Two, it is democratic to the core. And three, it is private enterprise write large. The Igbo puts God Almighty at the center of his sociopolitical and economic life and this is what explains why he is so fiercely democratic and so competitively entrepreneurial but so passionately communal to the core.
So, the Igbo spirit is not about the ethnic subjugation of one group by the other. Rather, it is about the opening up of equal vents of opportunities for the small as for the medium size and for the big, for the weak as for the half-weak and the strong.
It was, indeed, this very stark and unmistakable difference between the Eurocentric spirit of oppression and enslavement that rules Nigeria today and the Afro centric Igbo spirit of liberation and restoration

Fact of life

Humilitypays and Mrvitalis, this is why I believe Biafra will stand if Nigeria is not restructured to favour everyone. kiss

Faulty pedals and millions of cars recalled: Toyota's reputation accelerates into trouble
Japanese company criticised over 'incredibly dangerous' fault as RoSPA calls for an immediate inquiry

Toyota was under pressure today over the accelerator fault that is forcing it to recall 2m cars across Europe as the RAC described the problem as "incredibly dangerous" and urged concerned owners to have their vehicles checked immediately.

Amid calls for the Japanese company to explain why it had waited for a year before issuing the recall, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents called on the manufacturer to launch an immediate inquiry into why the potentially serious fault was not detected before millions of vehicles were released on to the market.

Yesterday British owners of the eight affected models, which include the Aygo, Yaris, Corolla and Avensis, told how their cars sped beyond their control, and voiced frustration that Toyota dealerships were so slow to deal with the problem.

Catherine Block, 28, told the Guardian how her Aygo careered down a sliproad towards some roadworks on the A2 when her accelerator stuck before she took it to a Toyota dealer last October.

"It was only luck that I wasn't injured or killed, because I eventually figured out for myself how to unjam the pedal while driving," she said.

Another driver described how the throttle stuck at 60mph on a dual carriageway and it took him two and a half miles to slow down enough to drive on to a verge, where the car eventually stalled.

"Toyota needs to look at how this problem came about and why it wasn't picked up at the start in post-production checks," said a spokeswoman for RoSPA. "Was it identified as early as it could have been?"

An RAC spokesman said: "I hope they have done this [product recall] as quickly as they possibly could."

He issued advice to owners. "If your accelerator gets stuck down, it is a very frightening thing to happen at any speed. If your car is feeling slightly different from normal and there is a change in the behaviour of your accelerator, get it checked out straight away."

Toyota also came under criticism in Japan yesterday when the president of the company, Akio Toyoda, decided not to attend a hastily called press conference. In his place was the executive vice-president in charge of quality control, Shinichi Sasaki, who described the issue as unprecedented in scale and said the company was "extremely worried" about its future sales.

Senior management has come under criticism for failing to make a speedy public apology for the recall, which affects more than 8m cars around the world.

"The trust in Japanese quality, in Toyota, has been shaken," said Toshiro Yoshinaga, an analyst at Aizawa Securities in Tokyo.

Toyota said it had received 26 reports from across Europe of the accelerator pedal sticking and not bouncing back into position properly. A spokesman said yesterday the company had begun fitting new cars with a different accelerator last August, but did not initiate a recall until it become apparent that the pedal could become completely stuck down and had to be pulled back up.

Toyota is facing at least 10 lawsuits in north America, where owners have accused it of not acting quickly enough to fix the faulty pedals. Toyota in the UK said it had no evidence that anyone has been injured due to a stuck pedal, but the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said it had confirmed that five people had died as a result of trapped floor mats, a related problem which also makes the pedal stick. Toyota said this was not a problem in the UK, but British Toyota drivers have claimed it has caused their accelerator pedals to stick.

"Clearly there is an awful lot of distress caused as a result of this," said David Crouch, a spokesman at the company's UK headquarters in Epsom. "As soon as we started the recall, we opened up a dialogue with Toyota owners, and we have sent out information every day."

Crouch said Toyota could not have discovered the problem in post-production testing because it was the result of a combination of moisture and wear causing friction in the accelerator mechanism, which happened over time and in particular atmospheric conditions.

He said every owner affected would be contacted. A remedy, in the form of a precision-cut steel reinforced bar, would be installed on their cars.

"We would like to reassure customers that the potential issue identified with the accelerator pedal only occurs in very rare circumstances," said Michael Valvo, Toyota's PR manager. "Our recall action is a precautionary measure."

My usage of that term is strictly with reference to Biafra. Most agitators for Biafra believe that Biafra will be rid of corruption, tribalism, nepotism, poverty, crime, and other indices that plague current Nigeria. I believe that the rulers of the South Eastern states today will eventually be the rulers of Biafra if it ever comes to fruition. What then will change? You think bad leaders change overnight? It is this warped belief that Biafra will be so great, in fact, than Nigeria, that warrants my usage of that term "utopia".

In reality, Biafra will be exactly the same or even worse than Nigeria. Here's a brief peek into what will happen:
1. Igbos will take over the position of Hausa as exploiters, leeches, and power hungry dogs. Other so called tribes and even Igboid minorities will complain and start advocating for their own country. Soon enough, Biafra will divide and a civil war will ensue. Take a cue from South Sudan on this.

2. Corrupt leaders will spring up everywhere. These leaders will have more freedom and reason to loot the new nation dry. These are the same leaders in Nigeria now who can't even construct public toilets without stealing millions.

3. Exports will be virtually null. It is imperative to note that the oil from Delta North, Abia, Imo and even Ikwerreland won't suffice to feed the new nation, build infrastructure and run the government. I'm sure that Delta South & Central, Bayelsa, Edo, a large part of Rivers, and I daresay, Akwa Ibom & parts of Cross Rivers, won't secede with Igbos. Just like Nigeria now, there won't be any alternative to oil that will be commercially viable to run the country. Yes, the country can go on without oil & exports but the hunger in the land will force many to run back to Nigerian cities.

4. All appointments will be hijacked by Igbos, for Igbos. The official language will be Igbo, ignoring other ethnic groups.

5. There will be mistrust, insecurity, violence, etc, arising from ethnic tensions and perceived injustices.

6. Other groups, drawing from Biafra's success, shall also secede and the nation will face imminent collapse.

While I have no beef with the self determination rights of South Easterners, I believe that Biafra should not be seen as a utopia. Things WILL NOT EVEN BE NEAR OKAY. That dream of perfection is only a delusion especially if other tribes are going with Biafra, of which I know my Urhobo won't. The only thing that'll likely change is that Igbos will be in power & even this change will be at the detriment of other ethnic group and thus, a new Nigeria will evolve. If Igbos are patient enough and their leaders become smart and calculative, they can actually win the presidency in Nigeria and become much more relevant like they want.
ARE U A PROPHET? You seem to know exactly what will happen tomorrow.Your point no.1 to 6 are all mere blabbing.

After reading ur write up,i see a man who is frightened about the possible emergence of Biafra.

Travelling round the country is not the issue. The issue is how many people read will read what's on the note. Personally, I don't bother reading whatever is written on a Naira note. I'm sure many others do the same. What's the sense in reading it when you can be spending it? undecided Many Nigerians don't have that patience.

Secondly, it's a crime to deface the Naira note. Those doing this should pray that they won't be caught.

Thirdly, it makes no sense to do this. It's foolish and ill-thought. If you guys want to campaign for your own utopia, the Naira note is not the best avenue. It is even antithetical to your cause.
Your first and second points was making sense to me before i read ur third point especially the use of "utopia" in place of Biafra.

According to ur line of thought,Scotland,Catalonia and Quebec can be regarded as an utopia.

So any group of people seeking for self-determination or independent homeland are pursuing an "utopia"?
