GEJ used mercenary to pacify Borno for 2015 election. Buhari and his goons were angry then because they claim he was embarrassing the army and they blamed corruption for Boko haram. Buhari sacked all mercenaries immediately he was sworn in for political reasons. Only for him to be totally clueless on how to fight Boko haram. This is the fifth year and they are still struggling.

He is now "clueless" grin, good times ahead.

PhiliptheArab:

There are no saboteurs sabotaging the Boko Haram war.

Unconventional warfare is warfare that is not designed to be won, or lost. It is designed to scare and frighten your enemy so that the enemy gives up. It doesn't matter how many Bokoist die, or how many battles the Nigerian army wins, so long as Boko can outlast the NA, they have won.

Or why do you think it took decades for the British Army to fight the IRA in Northern Ireland? And that war did not end on the field...it ended with a peace treaty.
How about the Americans in Afghanistan and before then Vietnam? The Soviets in Afghanistan too? The US and the Soviets lost out both in Vietnam and Afghanistan not because of sabotuers, or because of 'corruption'..they infact won most major battles, but because the Vietnamese revolutionaries and the Afghan muhajideen were ready to outlast them.It didn't matter how many times they lost..they always came back for more and more...and were ready to play by no rules....

That's how guriella war works. IF YOU DON'T LOSE, YOU WIN.'. Right now across the world in countries from the Phillipines to Colombia, there are insurgenices that have been lasting for over 3-4 decades.

That's why beating Boko is going to take a long time. (and why I am reluctant to bash both this current government and the previous one for 'failing' to beat Boko.Doing so in a way is a failure to understand guriella warfare).

The mercs we used last time against Boko came from South Africa. South Africa under Arphateid had probably the best COIN forces battliing freedom fioghters in Angola, Namibia and South Africa. The Rhodesians had the best counter-insurgency unit of the 1970's (the infamous Selous Scouts) fighting ZANLA troops. And despite that...the SA bush war and the Rhodesian bush war were not ended on the battle field.

We beat Boko when they fought conventionally. It is the old methods of 'strike and run' that are more difficult to beat.

So much knowledge in one post, you don't win guerilla warfare with conventional methods. The NA would have learned from their experience with Niger Delta militants and how the amnesty deal settled the issue.

He made a big mistake by revealing the number. That is the operational number of the guys. They use it when going out for operation. He would have given the information to the police only who would then look at for them. Now they will discard the number.

Exactly, his move was not a smart one I hope it doesn't jeopardize rescue efforts.

I find it interesting that this news is both true and false at the same time. The plate number which was provided by the person reporting does not exist however, I hope the men of Operation Eagle Crack (Mopol 19) can rescue her.

Politics / Re: Boko Haram And The Roll Being Played By US And France by privaldo: 1:40pm
uptimum123:
When Syrian troops displayed weapons confiscated from rebels, in Daraa province, Syria. The Syrian government said that a number of Western-made arms were among the recovered cache, including TOW missile launchers and weapons designed to take out tanks and aircraft.

The non-response of U.S and French forces in going after Boko Haram sanctuaries in Niger and Chad is a deliberate decision. It wasnt an oversight, neither are they aloof to the reason Nigeria was forced to shut its border. There is an illegal covert weapons program being run.

Make no mistake. The United States is the greatest military power the world has ever seen. The intelligence community know what's going on. Remember the machinations by the Obama administration to arm and support terrorists in Syria in their effort to take out Assad.

A lot of that was being organized out of Libya. There was no U.S or French drone base when the Nigerian army did what people in the intelligence community thought was impossible, take back all captured territory and take Camp Zairo in the Sambisa.
Those bases sprung up weeks after the capture of Sambisa. There were predictions we will see the rise of radical islam in the region with this development. We all thought it silly. We've taken Camp Zero. Months later we had ISIS West Africa or whatever misnomer they call it.

Was watching Fareed Zakaria, this guy says corruption is major threat in Nigeria and the U.S is only there to help. No Fareed. Corruption does not slit the throats of civilians. The enemy is radical Islamic terrorism. They are vicious, they are barbaric and they are on the match.

I'm not downplaying Nigeria's fault. What i am saying is that the Boko Haram of 2009 have long ceased to exist. It has been hijacked and we are dealing with an international ring of covert Ops designed to weaken the Nigerian state.

Now you all don't have to believe me. Look it up. Do your own research. What gets me the most is complete absence of outrage towards the barbarity of Boko Haram. They are hardly ever mentioned in a negative light even if they slaughter a whole village. The narrative always falls on the same old card, Nigeria is corrupt, incompetent yadayada. The Nigerian military is among the continents most effective force when it comes to counter-insurgency. Over 67 countries were involved in the war in Syria to help stop ISIS. The Nigerian military
has never had that level of support. Instead the military has been slammed with one arms embargo or the other, even targeting the Nigerian economy. The sudden decision by the Obama admin to stop buying Nigerian crude sent us into our worst economic recession in 35 years.

We have persevered in all of this to the astonishment of the belligerents. We've developed our own counter intelligence architecture. Invested in the best ISR/ISTAR assets the continent has ever seen. Retrain a military doctrine to fight conventional wars into a mobile fighting force and has done what was the work of science fiction years ago. Now that its clear Boko Haram stand no chance against the Nigerian state they have resorted to the tactic of slaughtering innocent civilians in the hope of making Nigerians lose faith in our armed forces.

We must learn from Syria. The same year, the U.S. formed a coalition to battle ISIS in Syria, ISIS took over Mosul in Iraq. ISIS rapid takeover was assisted by U.S. weapons looted from ''moderate'' rebel fighters that the U.S just spent $500 million in cash to train and equip.

Im not absorbing the Nigerian government from blame, but we must never lose sight of the international dimension to Boko Haram operations in Nigeria. They dont hold an inch of Nigerian territory, where do they disappear to after cowardly attacks on civilians?

Oga say, what you are certain that is true and back it up with proof. Lies like this shouldn't be coming from a person that screams "Fake News" round the clock, when the citizens choose to hold the government accountable. You always find a way to shift the goal post when the government lands in its own poo, you claim to be a sovereign nation so acts as one and stop your unnecessary blame game.

Which God preserves? The actions you take determines you would be alive or not, only in rare cases you have no control over that and that is not the work of any God.

The presidency is scared of unarmed protesters and deem it fit to use excessive force even to the extent of shamelessly killing the protesters but, when faced with armed oppositions like Boko Haram, and Fulani bandits they end up cowering in fear.

There are religious killings just as we have tribal or ethnic cleansing as well as political killings.
You cannot isolate religion as culprit.
There are good and bad leaders across all boundaries-religious, tribal, racial, cultural and political.
There are bad and good citizens too across all boundaries.
Major problem facing humanity is bad leadership viz human rulership. Human are leaders and leaders are the problem.
To get it right , we have to get to the root. Bible provides the answer.

Religion adds to the buck load of issues already facing Nigeria, if it can't serve its purpose of teaching its members the right things to do and how to be tolerant then, what is its need in Nigeria?

The Bible is not the root or answer to any problem. A follower of Mohammed and the Quran will also lay this same claims just, as you a follower of Christ the Nazarene has done.

I only hope they realise on time that this isn't the ancient period of Mohammed and his early followers, and drop some of those archaic beliefs they still hold dear. If Saudi Arabia that lords over Islam, countries like Qatar, UAE even die-hard Islam fanatics like Iraq could all be open to change then, what is different about Northern Nigeria that borrowed the religion?

stalin was atheist and brutal. Mao of china was also atheist and his rulership was brutal and about 30millions Chinese lost their lives. llt is human rulershio. Ecc 8:9.

First off, don't quote the bible to make a point, you can make the point without it. Secondly, go through the context I never talked about religious or non religious leaders, I was talking about the citizens.
My case was mainly on the religious killings and loss of common sense due to religious beliefs.
If you also want to talk about Atheist who have been evil without talking of good ones like Xi Ji Ping of China, then we could also talk of the Crusaders and the brutal rise of the Arab empire.
