Politics / Re: Ipob Doing The Same Mistake Like Ojukwu did back then.... by privaldo: 11:49pm On Feb 09, 2021
darkwan:

they dont understand much....
yorubas are culturaly related to benin,ghana....northerners are culturaly and religiously related to northern africa....

deltans cant choose sides in this matter on their behave....they are too intermarried....

this wahala will ruin south east and nigeria will still not scatter....

nigerians are used to death....

While I with you on the issue of their "noise making" cum propaganda, I will like to respond to some of your points from a geo-political point of view.
Ghana is relatively stable and would not like to get themselves into any war right now, because such will bring a divide among them and alter the peace and stability they enjoy at the moment. They are more focused on growing their economy than anything else at the moment.
Benin has a relatively small armed forces, so their impact won't be felt. Besides they are still under an indirect French control which will limit the activities they can carry out in the event of a war, because France is one of core nations calling for Nigeria's breakup due Nigeria trying to hinder their activities in their past West African colonies. A united and stronger Nigeria will bring the end to France interference in West Africa.
The Deltans may align themselves to Nigeria, we have seen it play out during the civil war. The only exception to this however will the be Aniomas, who will be at a crossroad on who to support.
The war may not bring the end to the South East alone as you may think but total anarchy in Nigeria, like in the case of Libya. A security report estimates that over 75 armed groups exist in Nigeria, this is two times more than the amount in Libya, and Mali combined. They will struggle to lord over the regions they find themselves in, and an over stretched Nigerian military will be able to little about this.
Even if assistance from the West is called then we would have a Libya crisis because if France and Italy (who will be militarily aiding the Vatican's support for the South East) is supporting the South East, Britain and Turkey will tilt towards Nigeria. The U.S won't know who aide between France, and Britain which will make them act as observers. China will fight on Nigeria's side to make sure their investments survive and are paid back, this will make more Western pick sides to support.
An already preying Iran will see the war as a perfect payback for the damages caused to Shiites and support the South East, and this will anger nations like Israel, UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, all these nations will support Nigeria except Israel that will be at the crossroads due to Iran's interference and their past support for the , so they will either act as an observer or covertly support one of the parties involved. To gain Irans support all the South East needs to do is to promise a safe landing for the Shiites in the South East. Russia will support Nigeria, as they have a long history backing them but on another side angle they may back the South East due to Turkey's support for Nigeria, they have been fighting proxy wars with Turkey for sometime now, you can Syria and the Ukraine deal with Turkey.
Also, note that African countries facing threats of secession will support Nigeria to make a strong statement. South Africa will support the South East as they will look to destabilise Nigeria further to be the sole black power house in the world. I forgot about Algeria while talking of North African/Middle East countries. If Morocco supports Nigeria, Algeria will automatically support the South East because both countries have a Turkey/Russia relationship but an even stronger one bound by deep hatred.
This is just an example of how Nigeria will be in the event of a war, Libya may even tell a better story.

If only ojukwu had known of such people( Niger Deltans have hated the IBO's ever since),he would have discarded the ideal of Biafra and he would then have sought ways and means of obtaining the best possible concessions for his own people who had suffered most.

As funny as it sounds, the Niger Delta is closer to the South East than many of you imagine. They have the longest political/romantic relationship in the country.
When Jonathan was president, most key members of his cabinet comprised of Igbos from his Chief of Army Staff to his Finance Minister.
The South East and the Niger Delta are the only regions where the political leaders maintain strong and open relationships even though they are of different political parties.
The South East and the Niger Delta are considered a single voting block due to their long standing political alliance by many political analyst.
When Nnamdi started his clamours for an independent Biafra, Niger Deltan war lords like Asari were among the first to lend him their support.

You may like it or not, but I think the SE and the Niger Delta are far closer than many of you realise. I don't see the need though to lump them into a sovereign Biafra due to the large of number of tribes within, they can both exist as allies like they have always been.
Also, so many of you ranting about the Niger Delta hating the South East or vice verse are either Ignorant or children with little or no knowledge of political/socio-economical alliances. The good though is you consist of a very minute percent, and are also irrelevant to the political/socio-economic affairs within the both regions.

The bolded is trash, justice can be by a country with a functional judiciary of which Nigeria isn't one of such. Stop waiting on God or any other mystical being to serve justice.
I have nothing to do with the protest, so make use of your senses when quoting me so you won't regret it.

Our politicians are doing well with respect to the very little allocations they receive.

Se needs access to her natural resources, That's the only way a people can develop. We have a very long list if natural resources that can fetch us tens of billions of dollars every year. Thats the amount we need to develop.

True, the SE has one of the largest gas reserve in Africa, which translates to more money as the demand for petroleum decreases. We need more regional autonomy to develop at a faster pace.

this is something the united states, china and many other countries with very sophisticated tech couldnt crack down. is it naija that cant even count their citizens properly that will be able to crackdown on crypto?
well, i see this as another news to distract people so they can carry out their loot

Many of them just speak because they want to be on the side of the government, even those in the government know they can't stop it. This move by CBN will only make people look elsewhere, and business will continue as usual.

When you open your account outside, that is a different ball game but if you are sending from exchanges abroad direct to your bank account, your account will be flagged

That was what I meant, you create an alternate account abroad do your crypto transactions and send it back to your Nigerian account in fiat currency.

bro most of you guys here sound so clueless. do you know that 98% of crypto is traded using p2p? by p2p i am talking of platforms like localbitcoins etc

That's what many don't understand, almost all of Nigeria's crypto transaction is P2P, so its not a new scenario.

Government can not monitor your transaction that is if you can even make transactions at all.

Presently, you can't even buy crypto with a Nigerian bank card or payment gateway.

You can only do offline p2p not online.

Government can not monitor offline p2p but online, they have dismantled the means of buying until further notice

You don't get me, do you? I meant if you open an account outside Nigeria maybe another West African country, and carry out your transaction seamlessly will the government stop you?

For context, you would still maintain your Nigerian account just that you would transfer to your foreign account when you want to make a crypto transaction.

Fulani and igbos are the same.... Why Fulani domination is vivid and clear.... Igbos own is subtle, the only flaw in igbo and Fulani domination is that they can't manage resources.... Igbo can't even manage tiny alaigbo they have, Fulani own is just cow, no economy importance.

This two tribe should give up and let us live in peace. If not for Lord Luggard... We no dey d same category.

What are you saying? How are the Igbos trying to dominate? Ala-Igbo is the way it is because we have greedy politicians in the East. Stop comparing the Igbos with any other race/tribe.

So we should allow you people to continue killing innocent people ?.

Anyways, it's simple, create a ranch for your cows or you would be ejected from any part of Southern Nigeria.

You guys are free to do anyhow you like in Northern part, that's less of our problems

Dont deceive yourself.

Government ban harddrugs but people sell harddrugs in the black market.

The trade is there but government still wins because they have made it harder for you to trade hard drugs, meaning if you get caught, not only will they persecute you but cease you fund.

Use the same scenario for the ban on crypto. Government still wins, You can trade at your own risk.

It seems you don't understand my point. How will the government clampdown on you when they can't monitor your transactions, or even clampdown on you, since you no longer bank in Nigeria? If there is a way to be monitored, please enlighten me.

Even the writer of this article criticizing government policies is clueless.

You mean people shouuld open a PayPal account that they can't operate from Nigeria.

People should go to the unregulated p2p crypto market where you can be easily scammed.

You cannot buy crypto with any Nigerian visa or debit card and you can’t withdraw crypto to any bank says the writer and then he wants you to open a paypal account

Now, Deposit in naira to buy crypto have been stopped by most exchanges ( binance and luno) now, this will affect everyone in crypto, another method will be found that will benefit those who have a trusted buyer living outside Nigeria.

The method can be, find a reliable Nigerian living abroad, deposit equivalent money in the person Nigerian account and then the person helps you to buy the crypto you want and then send them to your wallet, this method is good but it is crazy when people understand that sending btc and ethereum from one wallet to another is very expensive that will make you lose.

People don't understand how very volatile crypto is. The volatility can make you panic and make you lose your cash very fast.

Imagine you buy ethereum or btc worth 100k from luno, when that 100k worth of ethereum shows on your ethereum wallet, it can be 98k, in 2 weeks, that ethereum can be worth 110k, in 4 days time, can be worth 99k..this volatile coin can play with your emotions and make you panic sell.

What about network fee.

If i send 10k ethereum to my friend's ethereum account, sometimes, sending fees can be 6k.

The crypto world sometimes when you look at it clearly, works like an organized ponzi scheme.

At the end of the day, i prefer stocks to the crypto scam even though the returns can be huge, if you are an early buyer

Nobody wants you here, stick to your government treasury bills and stocks.

Some stakeholders are concerned that the banking public can decide to move their primary banking to a place like Benin Republic with the down side that Nigerian banks will lose capital base, lose credibility and they will still not hold anyone from foreign fiat transactions.

I support this move, this will make the CBN understand that nobody has monopoly to madness. Please don't quote me and start advising me on how this will affect the economy.

History

I remember a time in this country when all the six ministers in Jonathan's kitchen cabinet were all Igbo's. Ayim Pius Ayim was SGF, Ngozi Okonjo Iwealla was in charge
finance, Emeka Wogu was in Labour and productivity, Berth
Nnaji was in Power and Energy, Dieziani Madueke was the
powerful minister for oil. The six of them outside the Federal
Executive Council would meet and decide what and what not to be discussed at the larger FEC. Whatever they decided
would eventually be the position of government. In 6 years,
this was the situation. Okiro and Onovo had the police under their control. Ihejerika and later Minimah controlled the Army.
These powerful Igbo's could do and undo. Nigeria was in their pockets. Rather than care about the poor Igbo chaps
scattered all over the country, they were busy diverting billions of naira into their accounts at home and abroad.
The 2nd Niger Bridge, they didn't do. They shared the money. The
Lagos/Calabar rail lines passing through 9 States, 3 of them
in the SE, they were not bothered. They refused to pay the
Chinese the Counter part fund. They shared the money. Enugu/
Onitsha, Aba/PH and other roads of economic importance to
their fellow Igbo's, they abandoned. Who is to blame? Who
Was marginalising the Igbo's that time? You had your chance, you bungled
it.
There was only 1 Yoruba minister worth mentioning at that time, Akinwunmi Adesina. He was in Agric, the yoruba did called or complain of been marginalized. His budget was
less than 1% while Emeka Wogu in Labour had over 10% for
his ministry, Ayim had unlimited access to the treasury for the
benefit of himself and family members. The poor Igbo guys
meant nothing to him. If an Igbo becomes President
tomorrow after bubu, will there be any difference? The
Igbo man will marginalise his fellow Igbo people.....

Minimah isn't Igbo.
