Those are plausble reasons not virility or potency of their men/women in the North. Don't forget to try to distinguish fertility from fecundity as well.

So if they pick a 15 years old from one of the top 10 states and a 15 years old from one of the bottom 10 states to a neutral ground for the sake of practical experiment. Then a man that is 100 potent and healthy is provided to sleep with these 2 ladies till they are 49 years old, the report says the one from the top 10 states is likely to have 8 children compared to that of the bottom 10 states who wouldn't have more than 4.

Do not forget both women would be subjected to the same parameters.

The boldened is BS. If a man / girl or woman decide not to use contraceptive, even with low fertility, they can produce average of 15 offsprings within a girl/lady 15-49yrs fecundity cycle.

Early marriage, illiteracy of the girl child, Lack of access to contraceptives/ family planning, Almajiri syndrome,polygamy, lack of common sense e.t.c are the reasons. It is not necessarily because of any phantom high fertility lifestyle.

I think the northerners eat more fertility-induced food or even live pro-fertility lifestyle than some of the southern states.
