MartinCorridon: Something that Buhari might not have done if the tables were turned.
He never forgave IBB, Dasuki, 1st wife he divorced for seeking IBBs help or even Aisha, they claim he also divorced.
Few people are as forgiving as Tinubu considering how Buhari treated him for 8 years + our his lieutenants tried to stop Tinubu by all means including fuel scarcity and currency shortage. Did anyone from IBB's family say anything since Buhari died? So why are you more concerned about what he would have done and not what some didn't do? |

Port8080: How many loyalist does Buhari has? Where is that Bloc when he couldn't win election until Jagaban gave him a platform? Okay, since Tinubu can win elections without rigging or Buhari's 12.7m bloc votes, he should not curse and pursue all those who came from CPC. Buhari won 2007 Elections that was rigged for Yar’Adua. The whole world knew this. As for 2023 elections, we all saw how Tinubu "won" it. Remove the northern rigged votes, then tell me if Tinubu would have been president. |

There is no one single person in Nigeria for the past 30 years that can boast of the kind of political influence and followership Buhari had while he was alive.
Someone is dead, yet people still want to use his name to win votes.
His followers grew from 3 millions to almost 15 millions (Eligible voters) within 20-30 years.
Buhari needs to be studied. |

mastermaestro: So you must also support cultures that bury living beings with their late kings, right? Maybe if you or one of your loves is a victim of this barbarism disguised as culture, you will start to think and speak sensibly. Some of you defend evil practices in the name of preserving culture.
That's how a man will die, his wife will he forced to sleep in the same room with the corpse for days. They will also force her to drink the bath water of his remains. You also think this is culture? African nations will hardly prosper because of these wicked practices they call culture. Do Yoruba people bury people alive in their culture? |

No originality again, everything in the west has been bastardized.
The English people still bury their kings or queens the way they have done thousands of years ago, but in Yoruba land, they have turned their kingship and traditions to hiphip foreign religion koko tales.
Nothing original about their culture again.
What a sad story. |

omoredia: Keep deceiving urself. Who is mourning. People are enjoying the holiday and rejoicing that the same life he took from people God didn't allow him to hold on to it in London You have internet or don't you? Even here on Nairaland, there are threads showing people from different regions holding services for him, but you, in your tiny hole, think you can speak for everyone. On this thread alone, people are mourning him, including me. Worry about your life and pray you achieve 1% of what he achieved on earth, both in services and in character. |

As it stands will you say Buhari was a role model to emulate? Yes, he was and remains so. Millions looked up to him when it came to his attributes, but that he didn't satisfy everyone politically won't change anything. If he was truly what some of you are painting him to be, millions wouldn't be everywhere mourning him even at 82. Some of you should look inward, none of you saying negative things up and down can best 1% of what he achieved on earth. Character-wise, I am 90% certain you're not as upright as he was. |

Millions mourned him, or what exactly are you talking about? You think too much of yourself. You should concentrate on living a better life, and if long life is your goal, then work towards that. 82 years old man don die which is not surprising. you wey never reach 50 or max 60 should be worried and do a self-reflection. Nigerians just love to think they are making sense, trying to use people's deaths as an excuse to post nonsense. omoredia: Buhari death is a lesson for us to live well. How will someone die and people find it so hard to mourn for the loss. Let us live well in this life. |

There's no one that can rule Nigeria in her current system that would ever be praised by all and sundry.
It's the Nigerian nature.
The only thing Tinubu can do to place his battered name on the good book is to break this country and the system into a regional system of Government or at least a parliamentary system of Government.
This current system can't take us anywhere reasonable. |
Politics › Re: Buhari Resisted IMF, World Bank To Protect Poor — Wabba, Ex-NLC President by Procashtips(m): 9:07am On Jul 15, 2025 |
Afrojuju2017: The PIB act is what put paid to subsidy and that bill was in the NASS for more a decade, if the labour and other interested parties felt subsidy must subsist they should have gone to the public hearings or used a lobby to gain that.
The decision to extend subsidy removal beyond December 2022 till June 2023 was Buhari way of handing the fallout from subsidy removal to the incoming president, imagine the twin evils of Naira redesign and subsidy removal the whole country would just break down into endless chaos If he didn't remove subsidy for 7 years + of his reign, it's a pointer that it wasn't his plan from the beginning to remove it at all. Lastly, the cash issue was a total let down, wasn't managed well at all and Emefiele ruined the whole thing. Buhari gave his ministers too much freedom and some messed him up big time. I rather judge someone via their overall stay than less than a year of their leaving. |
