seyewest:Did your friend face any issues for flying Turkish airlines into the US? Because I want to fly Turkish airlines as well but the gist flying around is that people are being turned back for coming through any Arab / Islamic country. |
Have you ever noticed the way Barack Obama treats and respects his wife Michell in public? Do you admire the way he admonishes his wife at every given opportunity? So much public display of affection. Obama is a man who really knows how to treat his wife. He respects her so much. Compare that to the way Donald Trump treats his own wife by watching online videos of both of them. Barack Obama met his wife Michelle in 1989 when he interned at Chicago law firm Sidley Austin, where Michelle Robinson was an associate assigned to mentor Obama. The future president and first lady married in 1992. Sidley Austin assigned Michelle to mentor Barack since they both attended Harvard Law School. At that time, Michelle was earning much more than Barack. The two began seeing each other socially during Barack's internship, and after he went back to Massachusetts to continue his Harvard education, the pair continued the relationship despite the distance. While Barack was initially hesitant towards Michelle's suggestions of marriage, he proposed to Michelle in Chicago in 1991. Melania Knauss was at a party in New York City in 1998, when she was just 28 years old and Trump was aged 52. She had been invited there by the Italian businessman who set her up as a model in the USA. Melania refused to give Donald her number when he asked for it but instead took his number and, after returning from a modelling gig in the Caribbean, gave him a call. On their first date, they talked for "the whole evening" and the rest, as they say, is history. One of the reasons why Obama respects his wife so much is because she was there for him when he had nothing. She took a chance on him when he was a nobody. He owe’s much of his success in life today to his wife and that explains the amount of respect and regard he gives to her. Donald trump on the other hand was already a billionaire when he met his wife and owes her nothing. In an interview that Melania did with GQ magazine, the interviewer asked her; would you have married Donald if he wasn’t rich? Melanie’s response was, would he have married me if I wasn’t beautiful? Their marriage is obviously contractual; Melanie married him for his money while Trump married her for her beauty and that partly explains the less regard Trump has for his own wife. A typical lady would love to marry a man that has the kind of wealth that Trump has but can you tolerate a man who doesn't treat you with respect and dignity? You would love to marry a man that treats you with dignity and respect like the way Obama treats his wife but would you fall for a student who came to intern in the office where you were already an associate? So ladies most times life is all about trade offs. You can't always have it both ways. You want a rich guy and at the same time you want him to treat you with dignity. Sometimes you'll have to choose between a man who is wealthy or a man who treats you with dignity depending on which one matters most to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-V8dcFP1P0 |
greatnaija01:Why do people empower pastors over their private lives so much? Is it all pastors that have successful relationships/marriages? |
lorietta:Why not post your transcript so that people can advise you where you answered your questions wrongly. |
Classified60:America and Canada are two different countries. If you've been following this thread since, there are people that have been denied American visa multiple times and still end up getting the visa eventually. So your friend can go ahead and submit his visa application truthfully. |
Classified60:This is so untrue. They're busy typing your responses to the questions that they asked you. |
Ramj:Yes, as much as possible describe your job in detail using as much professional language as possible. This is the only opportunity you have to prove your economic ties. |
OmoBendel24:It's not a movie oh. It really happened to me for real. |
proddey:Update to my post above Your visa is usually ready for pick up 3 days after the interview but I decided to go pick up mine on the 4th day. Got to the DHL collection center along Muri Okunola street early in the morning and after picking up my passport, I proceeded to walk along Jubril Martins Street towards Ajose Adeogun Street to see how I could connect with transportation to take me home. I spoke with a cab driver parked along Ajose but when his charges were too high, I decided to turn and start walking back towards Muri Okunola street. Lo and behold, I saw the very guy/tout (that I described in my transcript above) who tried to follow me from the embassy 4 days earlier! He was carrying a small bag with him. He was apparently following me to Ajose Adeogun and when I turned back towards Muri Okunola , this guy also turned also. He apparently didn't know that I recognised him very well. It was at this point that I got really scared and I now confirmed that he was up to something. There wasn't any nearby police officer or police station that I could run too. So I decided to go inside the Stanbic IBTC bank at the junction between Jubril Martins and Ajose Adeogun. I started watching him from the window from within the bank to see if he was still following me. After I had lost sight of him I came out of the bank and headed my way home all the while looking back to see if there was anyone or vehicle on my trail. Since I went for my passport on the 4th day instead of the typical 3rd day, it's possible that this guy had come to the DHL collection centre on the 3rd day and waited outside for the whole day hoping to see me. When he didn't see me , he decided to come again on the 4th day as well. Mehn!! this is really scary!! My suspicion is that this guy probably wanted to rob me of my passport with visa on it or follow me to my destination so that he could do the worst. Thank God I escaped from him. My only fear now is that I hope he didn't show up with one or two of his cohorts to trail me because I wouldn't be able to know if anyone of them was still following me. My advise to everyone seeking the American Visa, BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH THOSE TOUTS OUTSIDE THE EMBASSY! Some of them are just criminals who are probably watching out for any successful visa applicant to dispossess of your passport and visa. Always be on your guard at all times before and after leaving the embassy. |
Sunflowerr:I don't think it is a problem. They aren't likely to ask you for your father's date of birth. They probably won't even notice. Just tell your mom to attend the interview like that. |
I just have to share my transcript as this forum really helped me in preparing for my US Visa interview. Had my interview on Wednesday, 25th January 2017 in Lagos. Before the interview, I had prepared a list of 19 potential questions that they could possibly ask based on the information that I gathered on this site. I had adequate responses for all of them and rehearsed them several times thoroughly before the interview date. Documents I took with me are: - int. passport, - one passport-size photograph, - DS-160 confirmation page, - interview appointment confirmation page, - and GTBank visa payment receipt. All other documents such as bank statements, pay slips, letter of employment, whatever whatever are absolutely not required. There's no point taking them to the embassy because they're not even going to look at them. You can take previous passports with you if you've traveled out of the country before and have visas on them but that's all. I left my phone at home also since they wouldn't permit you to take it inside. Don't patronize the touts, you don't need their services if you have the above documents in order. Just ignore the touts. VO: Good morning Me: Morning, Hi, how's work going? VO: Pass me your passport Me: I passed it, fidgeting a little bit. VO: Why are you going to the US? Me: I just finished a very hectic project so I just decided to take a vacation and visit my brother. VO nods affirmatively VO: Where are you going to in the US? Me: Miami, Florida VO: What do you do for a living? Me: I'm a Civil Engineer by profession VO: Are you married? Me: No I'm not, but I have parents with health issues that I take care of. VO nods affirmatively VO: Do you have a child? Me: No I don't VO: I can see that you've been to the US before ME: Yeah VO: When was that? Me: blah blah blah… I told her the year. VO: Oh, you were a child? Me: Yeah I was a minor then VO: Tell me about your work? Me: blah, blah, blah.... I gave her a very detailed and lengthy description of my work exactly how I filled it in the DS-160 form while she's reading from her screen and constantly nodding affirmatively. Before I could finish telling her about my job, she's flings the white paper at me and tells me to pick up my visa in 3 days’ time The interview didn't last up to 45 seconds. Lessons learned: I had told myself that the visa interview is not a do or die affair. It's not a matter of life and death. I believed my chances of getting the visa was 50/50. I prepared well enough and planned that if I didn't get the visa I'd reapply in 3 months’ time. It’s when you take this visa thing like a do or die affair that you’ll start fidgeting during the interview and you wouldn’t answer the questions with confidence. Once I left the embassy, I got to the bus stop outside the embassy about to take a bus to Obalende. While waiting for Obalende Bus, a danfo bus, with about four police men in it, parked in front of me and one of the police officers got down to search what was in my bag. After searching and found nothing incriminating, they let me go. I didn’t really know why they stopped to search me. Were they just doing a random stop and search or had they been trailing me from the embassy? Then one guy at the bus stop started talking to me about why these police men do stop and search and said sometimes they could be fake police men who could drop something incriminating in your bag and later arrest you for nothing. As for me, I'm always very cautious of strangers who start talking to me at the bus stops in Lagos because I've fallen victim of them twice so I was on high alert throughout his conversation. This guy acted like he wasn't going anywhere but when the Obalende bus came, I waited to see if he would enter but he didn’t. As the bus was about to take off I quickly got inside. Immediately he saw that I had entered the bus, he also quickly jumped inside the bus. That was when I suspected that this guy must be up to something. It's possible that he had been trailing me from the embassy. I immediately got off the bus and waited for the bus to go far before I joined another bus. I beat him to his game!. I suspect that he was either trying to follow me to my destination to know where I was staying or he was probably working for the police who had stopped to search me earlier. Outside the embassy earlier, I had seen a friend of mine who asked me if my visa application was successful and I said yes. It's probable that this tout heard our conversation and started following me. Anyway the lesson is that once you get your visa, always keep a straight face and don't talk to anyone. you never can tell who might be following you. Always be on high alert. |
fikdot:How did your visa interview go? Because I'm in exactly the same shoes. Were you granted the visa? Kindly post your transcript here. |
Are there benefits of using an agent to fill your online application form for USA visa? Are there specific things that they want to see on your application? For instance, on the form , when it says, who is paying for your trip? Is there a disadvantage in saying that the person inviting you over is the one paying? Someone told me that you need an agent to help you fill the form because they have experience in it. |
checherio:A 3.52/5.0 CGPA would amount to about 3.0/4.0 when you convert to U.S/Canada academic scale. |
In a summary, writing exams in your dream signifies stagnation. It means you're really not making much progress in your real physical life. |
amokemi:How many months did you use to prepare? |

Of all the common dream scenarios, exam dreams can be the most confounding. Why so many years after sitting exams at college or school, would you dream about having to sit for one? Because these stressors, the exam room, the ticking clock, the exam papers. . .all these memories lie asleep until a similar stress brings them flooding back to us in a sea of anxiety. Examinations are one of the most stressful experiences of our lives, thus it is a perfect metaphor for our dreaming brain to use for any stressful experience we are dealing with in our waking lives related to achievement, failure or success. When you have one of these dreams, take a look at your waking life and ask yourself, “what is making me feel the same kind of stress and anxiety that I felt or feel when sitting for an exam?” If you are not prepared for the exam in your dream, what situation in your waking life have you not prepared for? ? Or, is there anything in your life right now that you feel is “testing you”? Failure in a dream test can be a really uncomfortable and stressful experience, encouraging the dreamer to face up to shortcomings that he or she may not otherwise have been able to see. Perhaps you have a dream where you arrive late for an exam, or you cannot find the location of the exam room? This is quite a common nightmare and can occur at any time in your life not just for people who are sitting exams regularly. This means there is some test in your waking life, something testing you and challenging your capability to perform well. This being directly related to an innate feeling we have to achieve and compete. Perhaps you perform well in an exam? This may occur when you feel successful in endevours in waking life. Not limited to exams, you may visualise yourself excelling at a chosen sport or profession. Quite often people master certain activities once they have successfully performed them in their dreams. |
jmoore:Most of the girls you meet online are mostly runs girls. |
jmoore:1. You're really not meeting people is the main reason. 2. Your job takes about 80% of your time. 3. You must want someone that wants you etc |
VikingsOO7:It's a continuation from where I stopped in that post. |
VolTOxic:How old are you bro? I used to feel the same way to when I was much younger. I also always believed that with men, getting married is not a problem. It gets to an age that you're no longer meeting people. Not that you wouldn't meet some people, but you simply want to marry right, not just marry anyone that's available. |
kelvee:I thought the 16 year old girl is you. |
OP, your gender says "male" but you are writing a post as if you were female. What's up with the contradiction? |
I am a 37 year old bachelor and I must confess that never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine that someday I would be desperate to get married. When I was in my twenties, I used to hear of desperation amongst ladies to get married but I never clearly understood the feeling. I felt only ladies become desperate to get married; I never knew that guys also become desperate at a particular age. Once a 35 yr old single lady in my former office was crying in the office. She refused to speak on the reason why she was crying until she eventually opened up to one of my colleagues to say that she feels like she might never get married again. Apparently she had tried all she could but no one seems to be interested in her hand in marriage. It was actually quite amusing to me because I used to think that we all have the ability to control our emotions regardless of what we are passing through. Everything changed about me when I turned 34. One day I was on my bed in my bedroom and suddenly I felt a rush of emotions come upon me so strongly that all of a sudden I just began to realise that I was desperate to get married. I really can’t explain what happened to me that day; you need to actually experience it to know what I’m talking about. By the following year the desperate feeling became like torture and the loneliness was so depressing. I could no longer bear it when I attended weddings to see other young couples getting married. I could no longer stand it when I hear people discussing marriage or weddings around me; I would just stylishly excuse myself from their midst. In my office they nicknamed me "the oldest bachelor". Trust me, I really don’t find that nickname funny at all. Even when people innocently ask "Hey, why are you not yet married?" or "what are u waiting for?" These are questions that I just can't take emotionally. Naija peeps could be so insensitive at times! I’ve had two ladies tell me that they cried on their 30th birthday because they never ever imagined that they’d still be single at age 30. I must confess that when I go to church these days, I barely pay attention to what is being preached. Instead my eyes just keep roaming round the church checking out all the single ladies to see which one of them I can poach on immediately after service. I was meant to travel to the U.S seven years ago but I decided not to because I felt my chances of marrying a Nigerian lady would be higher if I remained in Nigeria. Seven years has passed and still nothing nothing. For those of you who feel changing location, like returning back to Nigeria, would increase your chances of finding a spouse, it is not guaranteed, you had better just remained where you are. Your spouse would locate you there. Your life must continue and you shouldn’t make decisions around finding a partner. For those of you who got married early or who are still young so you never experienced the pressure to get married, you really don’t know what matured singles are passing through. Sometimes, you find yourself thinking too much and the thoughts can really weigh you down. Matured single ladies cry a lot. If me as a guy could be feeling like this, I can only imagine what the ladies are passing through emotionally and psychologically. I know that ladies feel the pressure much more. At least we guys don’t have our biological clocks to think about. It gets to a stage that your parents will stop disturbing you to get married, they’ll now start praying for you. For those of you reading my post, it is my prayer that you all get married at the right time and age and particularly to the right person so that you don't have to pass through the emotions of desperation to get married. |
