Politics / Re: 'All Nigerians Are Corrupt', Says Oprah Winfrey by login(f): 7:52pm On Aug 06, 2007
Lets keep sentiments out of our thinking and use cold, hard logic to analyse issues, ok?

If this is the case? And you use logic? With integrity I might add, then where do you begin. I would like to know and I would like to help! For your own information, we do think 419 whenever anyone mentions Nigeria. And this is very bad for all. I chose to use my own judgement and I too was scammed by a Nigerian, who came clean after two years of lie upon lie and whenever I questioned him, he would remind me that not all Nigerians are scammers. He was not a pastor, did not have a church, was not a single father, did not have a daughter ( but used his little sister to pretend she was his daughter) all lies, just to get a what little money I had, and more that I borrowed to help him and his church. I am well educated, but I let me feelings for this man, cloud my judgement. What I think of the rest of Nigerians I could not get one to help me with the truth of the matter, they were all looking for money and they would only turn this guy in by telling me the truth if I paid them. Even his so called best friend wanted money to turn him in. I just wanted the truth.
What the hell is wrong with you people?
Culture / What Really Went Wrong, And What Still Is? by login(f): 5:14pm On Aug 06, 2007
I would just like to know what really went wrong. You discus whether or not you are proud to be a Nigerian? How did things get so bad. Where is your conscience? What do you value and what are your priorities. It does'nt matter where you were born or how you were raised. We are all the same in that we know right from wrong Why do so many of you prefer to lie, cheat, steel, beg, thieve, and use what little good you can find in your country, culture, in yourselves to support the wrong you do, with this poor me attitude? What are your beliefs? that lead to your actions, and therefore the rest of the world judges you based on a habitual life of dishonesty and perversion. Why, when you and so many are good too. What happened to you, what went wrong Not all of us over here had a great upbringing, but we know right from wrong and try to do the right thing. Do you have no HOPE? I would just like to get it. JUST ONCE. Help me out. Why?? It sounds like your parents got it right?,,, Why do you have it so wrong?

We need to treat ourselves as we would have others treat us, with respect. Good on you.

There are some excellent helpfull scamming web sites and lady you are going to need one. Say I don't know what I am talking about and I will see you here in 6 months for the truth.

ok i don't know if i'm doing this right, i'm new here and a non-nigerian however in love with one, call me a fool i don't know, i am from the states and he lives in lago's nigeria,  we have internet dated going on two years now, how we met well let me tell you he was someone different then what he said he was, he portrayed himself as a white man in the uk and this went on for about 6 months, never asked me for any money or anything like that, it came time for when he was to come to the states and low and behold got an e-mail from him with a fake flight ticket and a long letter, still not asking but sure new what was being implied, was he not very good

Are you kidding me? They are flippin professionals, I too met him on an online christian dating site, and we went on for a whole year before he asked me for money, and then the money was through a friend of a friend in the UK because of his dads funeral, O Ya!! it gets real good. Two and a half years later I am in court and he is scot free. Don't be a fool. I am highly educated and no dumby, and even if he believes his intentions to be real, he is lieing to himself. They are a different breed. Stay far far away.

@Eiregirl,

You really scare me  You said you don't think you've met a Nigerian yet that hasn't done or isn't into fraud of one sort or another

Let me ask you, who are your friends? How come you've only been meeting fraudulent Nigerians?

You've never met me and I am Nigerian, so don't conclude

Ok let me ask you

Are Nigerians Corrupt?

Please keep in mind what your own govt said about you a while back. Keep in mind what all your govt officials. Keep in mind all those folks swindling innocent and greedy victims. You must have seen them in your universities, in cyber cafes, some of them are your friends. As a matter of fact there's hardly a mulit-millionaire that got there without . . .

Meanwhile when did 30% get to mean 1 out of 3?

It took me two years of searching to find one Nigerian from Badagary, Lagos, Nigeria, that would even come close to telling the truth, after all the ones I spoke to, they were all filthy, rotten, dirty, lieing, begger, thiefs. It took the head of the church in the UK to start with, before getting any help from any Nigerian, so called official, church goer, goverment body, or person to help with the truth about a scamming lier. Learned alot, most of them are lieing, scamming, thiefs. Try 99%

I happen to agree that the majority of Nigerians are just out to scam and they do it ruthlessly without regard for anything, they are immoral and do so with evil intent. Too bad for the few who are true. Sad sad sooooooooo sad.
