Hypocrisy is one word I really don’t like using but when I think of Nigerians and some of our attitudes that seems to be so ingrained in so many, I can’t help but say we are hypocrite, quick to judge others and accuse them of the same thing we know deep down inside us, we are also guilty of without batting an eyelid. Typical Nigerians you would say, what makes Nigerians quickly come to mind when we think of all of the bad vices that can be, we complain that we have bad leaders , that our leaders are this and that, or that our leaders are not doing this or that, but do we stop to ask ourselves, what kind of followers are we? We all, whether we accept it or not are leaders in one right or the other, how do we fair in our leadership roles or even as followers? Agreed that our leaders are not making things as easy as it should be for us, but in our own right , do we know that we are as guilty as our leaders? Nigerians! Do we expect our leaders to walk into the streets and market to ask them to cut down their price, even when we know we pay more for what we get. It is in Nigeria the market woman would pad her measurement tin and still sell at the normal price and the annoying thing is that we know we are buying less than the normal quality but we still accept it without complain, typical Nigerian I would say. Even at filling stations (this I find very annoying) they adjust their meter in such a way that when you buy into a 25 liter gallon, you have like 23 liters inside and you still pay for “gallon charges” whatever that means or wherever it originated from, I don’t know but I find it annoying because it is just like begging them to render a service to you when it should be the other way round. A typical Nigerian sees nothing wrong in taking advantage of.. .. Source: https://naijacrapent./2016/10/31/say-no-to-the-typical-nigerian-syndrome/

winj:Hello, that's not a stupid question. Just rebuking our Nigerian Police. Moreover, I was only mocking that slogan of theirs! |
How many Nigerians would feel comfortable to walk up to a police station for one assistance or the other even in the face of the slogan that police is your friend? Not even Lawyers can beat their chests that they can walk comfortably into premises of the Nigerian Police station to plead the cause of their clients considering the humiliation they are going to suffer if they expect to get any free services from the station. Whatever your designation may be, your road will certainly be rough if your expectation is to walk in and out without dropping something; never mind that there is big signboard right at the entrance of the police station warning you that ‘BAIL IS FREE’ or that ‘CORRUPTION IS EVIL, SHUN IT’. If you take the admonition too seriously, you may end up being bashed or dented in your face for having the effrontery to ‘teach a policeman how to do his job or for conduct likely to insult the police in his office. There is one question I want to ask. And please I need a reply. My friend was having a romance with a young lady. Suddenly his real girlfriend & I barged into his room. As soon as she set her eyes on the incident., she just smiled, to my utmost surprise. The next day, my friend was afraid to call her on phone, it's this same girl that initiate the call, talking on phone as if she's not being worried. WHAT DO YOU THINK THIS GIRLFRIEND IS TRYING TO DO? |
Whao! Humility at its peak |
Scholar8200:HABA! My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? Psalm 22:1... You yourself have been involved in blasphemy. Why do you Christian compare God to a Man by belittling Him. You as a believer should never say God forsake you. He knows what He has in stock for you. The reason why most Christians cannot change their ways is because they are chanced to have been born in Christians home and their parents however have indoctrinated the teachings to them. I pray it will not be too late for the Christians to understand that some Bible verses contradict each other just because it's based on fallacy and Maladjustment with various Versions! |
TomHagen:Since Death has not yet take its toll on them, perhaps there is a second chance for them to reason |
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour, Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying 'ELI ELI LAMA SABACHTHANI? (My God My God, Why hast thou forsaken me?)'. This is according to their (Christians') assumption that Jesus cried in a loud voice saying the above words while he was being crucified. This is a great insult as such words could only come from unbelievers in Allah. Furthermore, it is incredible that such words should come out from a prophet of Allah because Allah never breaks His promise and His prophets never complained against His promise. This is a blatant declaration of disbelief according to All theological authorities. Whoever relates it to a prophet is a disbeliever according to the revealed religions. Almighty Allah in the Quran, warns the Jews and the Christians against their blasphemy that Jesus is an incarnation of God (Allah) or the Son of God (Allah) or in rejecting him totally, and that they must believe in him as a messenger of Allah only. |
If you look at the world’s most popular currency today, the dollar, you will discover that its symbol look like .S. with a vertical stroke across it. The .S. represents the serpent while the vertical stroke represents a tree. In other words, the symbol of the dollar is that of a serpent which twisted itself restfully round a tree. These are the volumes of what goes on in the neither region about the dollar where luciferism is the order of the day. The events that top the agenda of the supposed witches & wizards conference. I prefer Buhari to Jonathan |
Personally, I am not overly impressed by either of the two main candidates or their parties but it seems when forced to pick between the devil and the deep blue sea one might pick the sea on the off chance that one can swim and perhaps get rescued. On the other hand, if one picks the devil what awaits is eternal damnation. it is the topic on everyone’s lips in Nigeria nowadays so I figured with my new years resolution of writing more let me give it a dig. Salaam alaykum. You know you are getting attached to the dunya when.. 1. You don't plan your time around salah time 2. A whole day or two passes and you don't open your Qur’aan because you are too ‘busy’ 3. You care so much about what people say about you 4. All you care about is how to accumulate more and more wealth 5. You argue unnecessarily when you are told something you are used to doing is haram 6. You keep on delaying good deeds - 'I'll do it tomorrow, or the next day, etc’ 7. A new gadget comes out and you’re already thinking what you’re going to sell to obtain it 8. The lives of celebrities interest you 9. The lifestyle of the rich impresses you 10. You want to be the centre of attention 11. You compete with each other or with other people for worldly things 12. Your thirst for power and glory cannot be quenched 13. You fall into depression each time you don't get what you want 14. Minor sins dont really mean anything to you 15. You aren't able to stop the haram immediately and you keep on procrastinating and delay taubah 16. You aren't ready to displease people to please Allah 17. You care a lot about whats in vogue (You want to belong) 18. You plan far far ahead into the future 19. Seeking for islamic knowledge comes secondary (that's if it ever comes) after pursuing your future career 20.Your friends arent the type that remind you of Allah 21. You regard people as successful according to their status in this world 22. A whole day passes without you thinking of death 23. You can afford to waste so much of your time doing things that won't benefit you in the hereafter 24. Doing acts of ibadah becomes very difficult for you 25. You can't seem to be able to change your extravagant lifestyle despite knowing Allah dislikes the extravagant 26. You love visiting the lands of the kuffar 27. You are told about the dangers of consuming riba yet you argue that this is the only way you can survive. You add that if you find a better halal income you’ll change 28. You want to live life to the fullest 29. You care so much about your physical appearance 30.You believe the end of time is still far far away 31. You see things happening to others and you don't stop to think it could happen to you too 32. You bury the dead yet you dont learn anything from it 33. You want to ‘make ends meet’ by all means 34. You are always in a haste to finish your prayer and continue with what you're doing 35. You don’t think that today could be your last day 36. You are solely comforted by luxury (not by the remembrance of Allah) 37. You don’t ask Allah for paradise the way you ask for your dunya.. ISLAM IS THE WAY. All what I'm thinking of is on that Day. Which Day? The Day I will be covered with a white piece of cloth. The Day that I will be isolated and separated from people. The Day that I will sleep in a room without door nor window, without bed nor pillow and at the same time in a quiet cemetery. The Day that I will be left alone in the grave with the deeds (Good or Bad) of my lifetime! What about you? Are you also thinking about this Day? May Allah keep us rightly guided till we meet with His eternal pleasure, Amin. |
This is an empty noise just to attract attention. A day has not been possible in the Nigerian history yet they are clamoring for 8 months |
I don't mind expressing my opinions and speaking out against injustice. I would be doing this even if I wasn't a writer. I grew up in a household that believed in social justice.
