All these APC goons that opened and are commenting on this thread if you guys can tell your self some honest truth....you all should know buhari administration has been full of excuses and below par.

All the worst they told us that would have happened if GEJ administration had continued still happened....those situations are too numerous to mention.

A problem solver would still get things done even if the materials that is available to do the job is withdrawn from him, he cracks his brains and get a way around the lack of materials to get the job done.... But a bad administrator will complain from day one and at the end will give a below par permomance.

You guys should watch designated survivor(series) to see how presidential office is supposed to be runned.

Nigeria deserve better running of a government...Buhari admin is far from it.
we should watch a series as in movies to see how a presidential office should be run? SMH. This alone is enough not to even bother engaging you in a discuss before you tell us to watch Scandals too

Lol @ lie daily on NL

I am not for PDP nor am I against APC. I am just a citizen who demand accountability for people saddle with governance responsibilities

I agree that he is not a magician and he shouldn't be expected to perform magic. All I am saying is that it's time this blame game stopped.

It's his job to keep the economy afloat...receiving applause or otherwise depend on how well he delivers on that.

Yeah, in the face of the recent storm, I would say the current scorecard on non oil sector looks plausible, howbeit, much is expected.

Yeah. Oil inflow is subjected to global oil price and stability in the ND. However, I believe much still need to be done with regards to the non-oil sector...for instance, do you think the VAID is gonna do the expected job with regards to ultimately improving tax revenue?

Do you think focusing on Debt-GDP ratio over the alarming cost of servicing the debt is the way to look at the borrowing spree?

What is your take on the current or just released unemployment rate by NBS?

Are you aware of what the high interest rate is doing to the SMEs?
you are much more sensible to have a discuss with than the other clowns we see daily on this forum!
Bill Clinton blamed, Bush blamed, Obama blamed, the orange man in white house is still blaming. That is politics. This did not stop any of them from carrying out their presidential duties, so as it not stop Buhari from carrying out his. Job loss is expected when a country plunges into recession. During the global recession, there was job loss everywhere, America and others didn't pull out of that overnight, took years to build what was lost back. We are gradually moving, and we will get there. But to bring PDP back, Never!!!!!!.

It's not about the state of the economy at transition, it's about the appropriateness of the current government's response to what was/is on ground.

Ofcourse, if the economy doesn't need a saving, we won't be scouting for a saviour. And it currently appears that the proposed saving strategy is more of a propaganda than a plan.

That said, we still have a year to see if the change promised was really delivered ~ retrospectively.
i wouldn't know if u are one of those who lie daily on NL. what the ipod yoots and PDP looters have always said was that a booming and vibrant economy was handed over to Buhari who crashed it. That is first the point of this thread. Yes we brought Buhari in, but he is no Magician, he dealt with a lot of challenges for almost or over a year when he came in first, from terrorists blowing pipelines, to oil crashing to $28/barrel which is below the production rate and he managed to keep the country afloat. we have seen massive improvements in Agriculture, solid and mineral resources sector and we have also seen an increase in non oil income revenue. Buhari is no magician, he may have made many mistakes, but he was and is still the wisest choice. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if PDP continued.

Good analysis by fellow Buharist OP.

My contribution is that Sai Baba was brought in to power as a substitute just like a football player to replace GEJ and we expect wonders from him.
Nigerians knew the damage and havoc the satanic party has caused, reason we booted them out, so we want more from PMB.

To Whom Much is Given, Much Is Expected.

Sai Baba we need the CHANGE we massively vote for.
my brother, we all know the havoc terrorists caused on oil pipelines and and installations. for almost a year the president had to deal with that issue with oil price going as low as $28/barrel. Now crude oil have started picking up, and we are getting more revenue from diversification efforts, we can see some improvement with Nigeria gradually sliding our of recession. This is not about being a Buharist, we have to be fair. Our National reserves have started growing despite all the harsh conditions, things are gradually beginning to improve. by the end of 2018, much difference would have been notice. All i want now is for Baba to put an eagle eye on desperadoes like Atiku who will do anything to sabotage the government to grab power that he can never reach. Sai baba
PoliticsRecession: 5 Facts Before President Buhari Took Over Power In 2015 by progress69(op): 8:57am On Dec 30, 2017
In the face of the recession Nigeria is currently coming out from, there have been several attacks on the current administration.

Here are 5 indisputable facts before the current government came into power. Recall that as at Dec 2014, oil price was still above $64/barrel.

1. 27 state governors were owing back log of salaries as at May 2015 when this government took over hence the bail out funds approved for governors. Despite this bail out funds, many refused to meet their obligations.

Buhari in ‘bailout’ meeting with governors- June 23; 2015

With a view to breaking the ice over the “salary crisis” in most of the states, President Muhammadu Buhari‎ will on Tuesday meet with the 36 state governors, Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, has confirmed through his Twitter handle.

https://www.thecable.ng/buhari-bailout-meeting-governors
Why have Governors refused to pay salaries, allowances in spite of bailout funds? - Dec 30, 2015

Some states are still defaulting in their financial obligations to their workers in spite of the bailout funds by the Federal Government to assist them to pay outstanding salaries and allowances. Recall that the Federal Government released N338 billion to 27 states as bailout funds to pay their workers backlog of salaries and allowances.

Read more at: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/why-have-governors-refused-to-pay-salaries-allowances-in-spite-of-bailout-funds/
2. Federal Government was borrowing to pay 2015 salaries.-May 6, 2015

Nigeria borrows to pay salaries with cash crunch worsening. (Vanguard)

A cash shortage caused by low oil prices has forced Nigeria to borrow heavily through the early part of 2015, with the government struggling to pay public workers, officials said Wednesday. “We have serious challenges. Things have been tough since the beginning of the year and they are likely to remain so till the end of the year,” said Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Nigeria typically sets its benchmark crude price between 75 and 80 dollars, and is supposed to deposit excess revenue in a savings account. But even when crude was selling above $100 last year, Jonathan’s administration struggled to build savings. Critics say the excess crude account has been repeatedly raided by powerful political actors.

3. Oil marketers were owed billions, led to a fuel scarcity that paralyzed Nigeria, even banks were closing before time, telecoms operators were sending texts about expected disruptions (never in Nigeria have this happened until 2015)

Nigeria fuel shortage cripples businesses, banks and flights - 25 May 2015
Nigeria is being crippled by the fuel shortage that the country has been experiencing for more than a month.

Nigerian banks have shortened opening times, flights have been cancelled and phone companies may restrict services.

The party of President-elect Muhammadu Buhari has accused the outgoing government of "sabotage" for failing to deal with the crisis.

The wholesale fuel sellers have been withholding petrol as they say they are owed $1bn (£625m) by the government.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-32873349
4. Okonjo-Iweala who many people in the opposition believe would have done better or saved the economy warned of tougher times as oil slipped low to about $76.

Brace for tougher times ahead, Okonjo-Iweala tells Nigerians -NOV 2014

Nigerians should brace for tougher economic times ahead, the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has said as crude oil prices slipped to a four year low on Wednesday.
The Federal Government had attributed the declining revenues to the fall in prices at the international oil market.

After drawing from the ECA, Minister of State for Finance,
Bashir Yuguda, said the balance in the account had dropped further from $4.1 billion to about $1.34 billion at the moment.
But Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala said in Lagos on Tuesday that the economic indicators show there are tougher times ahead.

According to her, Nigeria would begin to feel the impact of the dropping oil prices at the international oil market, which commenced since the first half of the year.
5. Falling Foreign Reserves

Nigeria’s foreign reserves drop to $29.13 billion

Nigeria’s foreign reserves fell to $30.04 billion by Thursday, November 26, the Central Bank of Nigeria has said.

The bank disclosed this on its website on Monday.

Nigeria’s foreign reserves oscillated between $28 billion and $36 billion in the last one year.

The reserves hit $36.3 billion in October 2014, fell to $32.4 billion in January 2015, and stood at $28.6 billion by May 2015.

Under the new government of Muhammadu Buhari, the reserves gained marginally to $31.9 billion by July, before sliding again to $29.9 billion by September.
With the above facts, every sane discerning mind will see that Nigeria was already in a mess before the change of power.

The question everyone should be asking now is where are the infrastructural developments that can justify all the money Nigeria made in the past 16 years of PDP's rule particularly in the last 7 years of PDP's rule when Nigeria made alot of money from crude oil sales?

what did Buhari save us from?
is it from corruption?
is it from the recession ?
is it from insecurity?
what have changed since Buhari took over? nothing

what exactly has he done to make him equal or better to Jonathan? I say nothing

u see if u people call Jonathan a failure then Buhari is also because he is only lesser or equal to Jonathan but not better

although I still believe that Jonathan is a far more better president than buhari any time any day
Dispute any of this then I will start taking u serious.

1. Several governors were owing back log of salaries as at May 2015 when this government took over hence the bail out funds approved for governors
2. FG borrowed to pay Feb/Mar 2015 salaries.
3. Oil marketters were owed billions, led to a fuel scarcity that paralyzed Nigeria, even banks were closing before time, telecoms operators were sending texts about expected distruptions (never in Nigeria have this happenned)
4. Road contractors were being owed billions of $ hence they vacated all roads.
5. Even your all mighty Iweala was singing like a kanery bird how the country was in trouble with the oil price crashing (oil was still above $70/barrel)

U need more evidence.....?

This government have tried in bailing out state governments and have been paying federal workers. Oil price went to all time low of $28/barrel. (Below production price)
Terrorists were blowing up pipelines [u guys were glad]

Cry all u want, sane minds knows that, this government may not have met expectations, but we are greatful the past government never continued rulling. One will wonder what all the oil money garnered for 5 years plus was used for.

his people will never see anything wrong in his government

this is the reason why Nigeria may never move forward

This article is mischievous.

The Southwest doesn't bring much value to the PDP so the thinking that it would be given the VP slot is dead on arrival.

Even the chairmanship position couldn't be ceded to the South West because of trust issues.

Reality is PDP has a clear cut strategy: A northern candidate with an Igbo vice. Simple and straightforward.
Sentiments. Same SW that yeilded value for OBJ 2 terms, Yaradua half term, Jonathan's single term but just because they turned their back against PDP fof Jonathan's second term because of poor handling of the SW by Jonathan's regime they no value again. So it is only SS/SE vote and some Northern states that will make PDP win....lol. nice one.

the seat of the vice office is more like a bench or ceremonial office even though it was an elected office. outside of the fact that it makes them to be more popular and put them up as next in line to take over, they simply cannot perform much other than acquire more wealth. like look at osinbanjo for example. and its so easy for them to become unpopular because for siding with a failed president which in turn will affect their chance to win election.

PoliticsMiscalculations Of PDP will cost them 2019 elections - Opinion by progress69(op):
Disclaimer: This is personal opinion from an unrepentant APC supporter AKA Zombie!

I came to this conclusion based on stastics and not ethno or religious sentiments.

It is a well known fact that PDP is a SS/SE stronghold.
There are 3 PDP South East governors and just 1 South West PDP governor which is not even certian because there is an election coming for in 2018.

The PDP chairmanship position was initially zoned to the South, then further microzoned to the South West. But the the surprise of many, there was a change of tone amd strategy by some governors who have the money and have their own selfish ambitions and a "unity list" was pushed forward with a particular governor eying the VP slot. This in my opinion is a costly miscalculation.

My question is what will be used to percify the southeast with 3 governors as PDP members , if the VP slot is given to the southwest with just 1 governor? The southeast have never been in the centre of the Presidency since 1999 and 2019 elections is the closest shot they can get. I will have expected that the Chairmanship position be ceeded to the southwest and the VP slot be ceded to the Southeast. The Southsouth is naturally a strong hold of PDP, and just had a taste of the Presidency for 5 years plus. The southeast gave over 2 million votes to PDP in 2015 elections, against the 2 hundred thousand given to APC, hence they should not be toyed with. Seems to me that the southeast is about to be used and dumped again by PDP

It is unfortunate that the same people who brought Sherif on PDP are the same people who were allowed to manipulate the PDP convention because of their personal interest.

Should the VP slot be ceded to the Southwest, there will be disaffection n the Southeast which will definitely lead to defections or low vote turn out, also should the Southwest loose both the chairmanship and vice president slot, PDP is practically dead in the Southwest. As a matter of fact, we have started seeing defections in the southwest after the convention, with contestants already heading to court.

PDP can not win Elections with devided North and Southeast/Southsouth only.

Thanks to the ammateur politics by those with vested interests! APC all the way!!!!

Buhari till 2023!
