Wait ooo so having 4.5 above in ur finals does get u a distinction in B.pharm ?
Clarification
I don't exactly know the grade. But I think it should be 70 for a distinction in pharmacy and it should be per course and not a combination with other courses. I.e. the distinction is awarded per course.

PoliticsRe: Ortom: Twitter Ban Is Illegal & A Suppression Of Fundamental Human Rights by ProJectAnatot(m): 8:23am On Jun 09, 2021
thebosstrevor1:
When did Tweeting become a human right? The last time time i checked i didn't see tweeting as a fundamental human right in the Un charter.

Anyway, Twitter is just an American company, Twitter is a product and tweets is the action you do on Twitter.

If government banned Thailand rice, has your human right be taken away from you?

There are other brand of rice that you can buy and cook, similar with Twitter, there are alternatives, use the alternatives and stop complaining.

Let me add that Nigerians are being harrased in different international airports all over the world, you wouldn't see these governors and civil organizations trying to protect their citizens, an American app called Twitter was banned see them threatening fire and coal.

Misplaced priorities.

Danke!
He started with Twitter. Do you know where he will end? What was the reason for the twitter ban.. That is what you have to consider and not the action itself! Someone bared every Nigerian from twitting because his tweet was deleted and you are talking nonsense!

Nigeria is a very weird country... How can the army of a country and her citizens be at loggerheads with each other.. I don't just understand Nigeria at all. Police is so corrupt it can not settle internal strives and issues... The army is so violent that it will do worse... Must they use force?? Is there nothing like psychology in their curriculum?? Such a shame! Very shameful thing. They were killed by the people they are supposed to protect and I know they must have done worse and will not stop now!

If you meant doesn't, then no! It does! But you can have distinction at any level not necessarily in ur finals! I'm not in pharmacy though!
But if I were you, I would not let anything discourage me from getting the best result I can! If you have the brain, the energy, the ability and health then use them! Not everyone has that opportunity you know!!

Holla amigos!

I'm Jane, a 200L pharmacy student. I just finished my 100L second semester exams last month and all our results are out! (yeah, my school's that fast grin)
Good news is that the list of those who crossed over to pharmacy school is out and guess whose name is there? Yeaaaaa it's ur girl, wink
Now I'm currently wrapped up in confusion because a colleague of mine just told me that My CGPA is useless angry I'm like howww? And she told me that it doesn't start counting from 100L, but from 200L
Now I'm in severe pain because my CGPA of 4.905 is about to go down the drain, all my sleepless night? angry

So out of curiosity I brought it to my elders on Nairaland to confirm the authenticity of this?

Also I want to clarify from med students, what's the criteria for graduating with a distinction in B.pharm?
The only time a pharmacy students CGPA is useful in my school is when a pharmacy student graduates as the best student else it is unclassified. But heah! Who says you can't work hard? + your cgpa is a product of how much you've known ... Though not all the time!

EducationRe: Skill Acquisition Training Vs Tertiary Institution. Plight Of Nigerian Youths. by ProJectAnatot(m): 10:17am On Mar 11, 2021
Childofthelord:
"School na scam" "Bill gates and Mark Zuckerberg have no degrees"
You will usually here this phrase from youths and students who see no future, hope or necessity in their University education.
Others have brothers and sisters who graduated from Universities but never used their degree. Some graduates sell wigs online, do menial Jobs or are into Binance and cryptocurrency.
All in all, many youths are still fighting their way to get into a University, many of them write Jamb year after year. PostUtme after PostUtme. They attend many private lessons and hire tutors just to enable them get a University admission. And many people get in hardly recover from carry-overs.
Those wasted years and money can be put into sometime useful.
Is University education really compulsory? Why is there no accepted/popular alternative learning/ skill acquisition opportunity for the non-book smart. Why is skill acquisition regarded as a second option in Nigeria.
Why does it sound derogatory to learn tailoring, baking, mechatronics, etc.

Lets be honest, not every youth is really interested in tertiary education. Many are under parental pressure to go to the university like every other person does. This narrative has to change. Not everyone is bound to excel on pen and paper. Everyone is wired differently. Imagine if these Yahoo boys could put their street-smart knowledge into good use.

What do you think?
Well, I have thought about this myself. Truth be said school is not for everyone... But many people go to school with the wrong mindset especially in Nigeria. In the West parents bring up their wards in a way they will appreciate where their talent lies and exploit it to make themselves better. You see them organizing different talent shows, different grants, art shows etc just to get talents. But the opposite is the case here.
Parents push their wards to study courses they don't have a single passion for. At the end they fail and fail out or fail to graduate. Don't get me wrong, I know the West have achieved almost everything possible socially, they are not fighting hunger, poverty, inequality etc.. Also they can afford to switch course/career at almost any point meanwhile the opposite is the case here. Therefore when we(Nigerians)go through school and money is not coming as projected or we discover there are no jobs as was told to us in classrooms, frustration sets in and there the "School na scam"slogan starts to fly around. But who can blame anyone for using that line when the government cannot even provide basic jobs/employment. I can't remember when last the federal govt employed workers... The only thing they do now is one form of useless empowerment or the other after one must have schooled for not less than 4years... So last last school na scam if e no fit provide for you!.. Imagine a grown man/lady with responsibilities collecting N30k (less than $100 ) stipend at month end.!!!
Let me stop here biko

Good morning.

TravelRe: Life Of A Nigerian Student Nurse In Canada- Lonely. by ProJectAnatot(m): 3:09pm On Feb 27, 2021
Childofthelord:
Hi everyone,

My name is Grace, 21yrs, I am in my 3rd year student, pursing a BN degree in Nursing administration (UBC) in Canada. However, since I left Nigeria in 2018, my life never remained the same. Let me start by saying a little about myself.
I come from a Christian home in Nigeria, my parents both attend deeper life.
They are hardcore disciplinarians and prayer warriors. My mum especially, each time i came back from school, my mum searched my bag. I was not allowed to have any social networking apps, not even WhatsApp, my mum always checked my phone. All my parents ever care about is my education and getting good grades. If i am not talking about books, i am not making sense( i was not allowed to attend prom). I had no outfits, just normal clothes and school uniform. I am never allowed to visit friends, go out or have friends over. I spent a large chunk of my time in my bedroom. I do not know how to socialize or communicate with people.
My social life was in bad shape and i never realized it.
I realized that my upbringing and the way i lived my life has really affected me now. I have trouble making friends and even sometimes when people approach me, they go mute after some days, it appears like i cannot keep friends. There are 60 students in my department and i could not make friends with one person, i do not have anyone to check with after an exam or test, nobody checks on me either. I always conatact the professors directly if i have any issues.
To be frank, I did spend 2 years in Unilag before coming to Canada and I had quite a number of friends, many guys were toasting me. I even lost count as some point. But ever since i stepped into this Canada, no guy, i repeat no guy has ever asked me out. white oh, black oh, hispanic oh, nothing. Though i have a number of acquittances but no one to share a drink with or talk about how the day went. This was different from when i was in Nigeria.
Right now I am really trying to make friends but each time i try, the energy is always coming from my end and sometimes they ignore me. I have no best friend, no boyfriend, no padi padi. I believe i have a bright future ahead of me but sometimes i just feel lost with how lonely i get.
Sometimes i feel like there a spirit of loneliness following me, i have no roommates too.
This has not stopped me from doing what i have to do and studying well, but i find it a little disturbing.
Is this normal? for students studying abroad? Maybe I am just different, I dunno.
I am willing to answer any questions?
I can relate with your story to some extent even though my parents are not deeper life goers. I said so because am a natural introvert. Most of the times I like 'me' but some other times it makes me angry that I can't just walk up to a person and strike up a conversation or vise versa. The truth is I have not been to Canada and I have heard that it's pretty lonely out there but no matter how lonely it is, What people read in you first is your countenance and comportment.
Also you should know everyone's story is not same. Only you are there seeing things for yourself so chose the advise you take wisely. Pls don't go out of your ways to make friends.. Cos it will surely end in tears.
If I can make an inference, I think and believe that the "Christian You" is already a natural barrier in the WEST(If you you know what i mean). But don't trade it for friendship
Some have advised you to focus on school and finish first, but I believe that's a very myopic way of doing things cos school is only a part of you and not everything about you and there are ups and downs too... So you need friends surely.

Keep trying or start trying to make friends but open your eyes o!

Anyways am a Christian too and if you don't mind we could chat. I want to send you an e-mail.
