I just got admission into Euro academy, Masters in Environmental protection and applied to the Embassy here in lagos. My appointment is for 30, Nov, 2016.

with heart filled with joy and laughter, I wish to announce to my fellow nairaland family, that my visa has been granted.
this journey started since 2013, I tried Canada but was denied. my brother convinced me to try Germany, I tried Germany last year winter 2015, was also denied, people like Nellyb and williamso, know my story. but hear I am today. I gave it another try and believed there's nothing God can not do, he proved his an unfailing God. even on the day of my interview Satan raised his head again, Babania is a witness, but God won the battle at last. I left my money in deusch account since last August having hope it will end in praise and it ended in praise.

thanks to everyone for Ur help and assist people like Eke40seven, Williamso, Nellyb, and I will not forget Babanila who was with me during my times of trials on the interview day. May God bless U all for me. Those I didn't mention I appreciate U all. am so grateful. thank you all. I will always give back to this house positively.

package arrived 7th March.

Funded on 7th, 8th and 9th Feb
Confirmation of credit from DB on 11th feb
Email to submit insurance, passport and courier envelope on 16th Feb
Submitted insurance on 17th
Visa delivered on 23rd February.

UPDATE ON FORM A !!!


I spoke with a friend who works at Sterling bank head office on Wednesday and he confided in me that "FORM A" has not been cancelled by the CBN as widely proposed. He said CBN sent a circular which contains the amount (in dollars) each bank have consumed with zenith bank topping the chart. he claimed zenith bank initiated "Form A" transaction worth $25m while others also have their own share.

This now got me thinking.. If zenith bank alone could consume $25m worth of Form A, shey na all Nigerian student dey travel ni

Anyway, I believe these banks have some hidden racketeering going on. according to my friend, he said form A is still in use and no worries. Just that most banks have run out of Forex. So, its better we start sourcing for bank with funds so as not to be caught unawares.

What I believe is this: Since we'll be transacting in Euros, we may not really be affected cos there's more demand for $US than the Euros in the parallel market.

Lets keep our hands/fingers crossed while hoping for the best.

The Central Bank of Nigeria CBN just announced this morning that it will no longer provide foreign exchange for school fees and medical bills as a result of dwindling forex reserves.

What this means for us on this thread is that, when you want to fund your blocked account, pay uni-assist/university application fees or pay for accommodation from Nigeria, you can't go to the bank and request for a FORM A transaction at about N225 to the Euro. You have to open a domiciliary account, but euros from a Bureau de Change at about N335-340 to the euro, then transfer to the account in Germany.

Let's look at how this affects the living costs to be deposited in the blocked account, for example. 8040€

Before restrictions : 8040*230 =N1.85m(approx) + charges = N1.9m

After restrictions (NOW): 8040*340= N2.75(approx)
+charges = N2.8m

DIFFERENCE OF N900k!!!

But if I am correct in my analysis, this is not too good news. Hehehe, who I dey deceive. THIS IS VERY BAD NEWS

As for me, I still dey hustle passport money, talk less of ielts money or uni-assist or courier or bloc...sigh

Change in visa collection - You have to get your self addressed envelope from a courier company, passport and 3months travel insurance....Drop this at the Embassy gate. Dem go send am go ur address....SHIKENA. pardon my errors

Hallo Guys, I just found that the new price for IELTS is now 52K...O boy, no b beans ooo, aber alles in Ordnung. I tried paying for it using my GT naira mastercard, I got a response from GTB (DCC; Dynamic Currency Conversion) that there is a restriction on foreign currency despite the fact that the cost is valued in naira. After several research I understood the reason why. But I still believe some banks can still do it. Who has an idea of any bank which can,but if am to pay offline by raising a draft, what happens if there isn't any British Council office in my current state of residence.
