Education / Re: 2.80 CGPA Can I Still Make It by promisechild(m): 10:00am On May 17, 2016
Mbamally:
Good morning Nairaland.

Please I need a piece of advice, i'm currently in level 300 (first semester). And my cgpa is 2.80 (second class lower), I want to know whether I can make it and graduate with a Second class upper.

Thanks
this is a bitter pill bro but am gonna spill it. To be honest you can't finish with 2-1 unless you gonna make 4points throughout the remaining 4 semesters but I doubt this is possible since you hardly make 4 points when you were in 100 and 200 level. My bro just try your best to get to 3.00

Politics / Fuel Subsidy Simplified. by promisechild(m): 11:28pm On May 14, 2016
FUEL SUBSIDY SIMPLIFIED
Logical Reason!
Chief Joseph is a petroleum importer. He imports 10 million litre of petrol at the of cost of N95 per litre. He report to the DPR that he has imported 15 million litres at the cost of N105 per litre, requesting N30 subsidy per litre. DPR sends Mr. Yusuf an inspector and monitoring officer, to measure and verify the authenticity of the claims. Chief Joseph offered Mr Yusuf a bribe of the applied subsidy in lieu of 1 million liters, which Yusuf reject instantly, requesting that of 3million liters so that, it can comfortably go round to his bosses. Apparently they ended up agreeing on 2.5m liters each. The deal is strucked, mr Yusuf and his Bosses ended up with N75,000,000 while Joseph, the importer gain N400,000,000 on the deal They jointly cheated the government of the sum of N175,000,000. Finally Chief Joseph diverts 75% of the product to the black market and sell at N120 per liter to the masses. Later the government will also pay the cost of transporting 15 million liters to the allocated filling stations across the country. That is exactly the case of petroleum subsidy in Nigeria. So isn't it better for the government to invest those savings of hundreds of Billions of Naira wasted every year on subsidy, on life touching projects?

Well, to be crowned MISS NAIRALAND beauty and intelligence are of utmost importance and I believe I was marvellously made by God and I am beautiful in every sense. I know this because I feel confident in myself and those around me do not fail to mention it.

Aside from that I believe myself to be intelligent, self-conscious and friendly. All of which are characteristics a Miss Nairaland should have. She must be able to reply comments wittily, act properly, postively and in accordance with Nairaland rules and so be able to relate with every person she comes in contact with on Nairaland as amicably and as diplomatic as possible. I have all these attributes and so I think that is why I deserve to be crowned Miss Nairaland.

I also participated in the 2014 edition but couldn't make it to the finals. I have learned from my mistakes, I do not give up in my quest and for these reasons, I believe this is why I deserve to be Miss Nairaland 2016. Thanks smiley
why do you want to become Miss Nairaland?

Question 1.Several women have competed in Miss Nairaland competitions in the past. With changes in eligibility rules and the actual process, many potential contenders were discouraged and opted out, but you didn't. Why did you decide to roll with the changes and participate in this edition of Miss Nairaland?

Question 2. Nigeria experienced her first military intervention in politics in which year?

If you have a magic wand, what is the one thing you would ask for, and why?

which skill do you possess that can help the society?

MissGdope:

Question 1:

I often visit the romance section on nairaland because I find that the comments in that section are very funny and there are quite a few interesting characters. whenever I want to have a good laugh, I just click on the romance section and I tend to find it more amusing than the jokes section grin
About the celebrities section, I actually don't actively visit it a lot. it's just that I click on most celebrity related topics on the front page, kinda for the same reason; because the comments are funny and also because it's kind of a way to keep up with the latest gist in the Nigerian entertainment industry
On the other hand, I like to visit the politics section because I try to keep up to date with the current political issues in Nigeria and also because I learn a lot from reading other people's point of views on various issues.

Question 2:

I think my first thread on Nairaland was something like "Trey Songz and Chris Brown, who is the best" . lol I was actually 15 at the time , had just discovered nairaland and that was when adored them but I've grown out of it now grin.
here is your first thread on nairaland www.nairaland.com/1565812/south-africans
