bahaushe1: It is 9th not 7th, I corrected it.
It is not March to November, it is July to November. And for some it is August to November.
They will pay; just wait and see. That's one of the mistakes of this clueless Government, it's rare to see any seriousness or uniformity. All salaries should have been stopped since May. |

zoghys: If asking for what's rightfully ones is termed excess, then their excess is right. We have bad lecturer and so we have good ones, and this applies not only in nigeria, so beat that. And for plagiarism, we have had some cases so have we had breakthrough research by our lecturers here. In fact, with the little that goes into the educational sector in Nigeria, compared to bureaucracy, then you will give kudos to them. Even the little that goes into education is not being properly used for education. NUC got an allocation a few years ago, and like 70% of it was budgetted for SUVs and little for research. It was a News that made a lot of headlines. |

udemzyudex: That's for them to find out? I knew you have nothing reasonable to say, you just sit in your room and post whatever comes to your, yet you can't suggest a way forward. Nobody should take this guy serious. Lol, count how many months ASUU have spent at home from just 2017 till now. Mr, it won't be business as usual this time around. That's the bitter truth. I just pity some lecturers who have taken LAS (loan against salary) just to feed their families. I know one Lecturer in TASUED who started raining courses on his siblings last month and warned them not to call him again, one was even calling and crying for the balance of school fees cos they were about to start exam. Yet the so called FG they think they are fighting are not affected in any way. |

bluefilm: Call it whatever you want but it works perfectly for ASUU.
In life, when it comes to negotiations, there's something called BARGAINING CHIPS.
If you are going into any negotiations without having your bargaining chips, you have lost already.
FG uses their threat of Salary Withholding method as their bargaining chip.
ASUU uses embarking on strike as their own bargaining chip.
It always comes down to who will blink first.
You might argue that students have to stay at home as a consequence of ASUU strike but have you considered the hardship lecturers will have to go through as a result of their salaries being withheld by the FG?
No pain; No Gain!!! When they were working nobody held back their salaries. If they want salaries, they should go back to work. Even the Bible supports it that whoever doesn't work must not eat. |
Education › Re: No Resumption Until FG Pays Withheld Salaries – ASUU by ProphetM0hammad: 8:53am On Dec 07, 2020 |
zoghys: ASUU is one of the strongest pressure group in Nigeria if not the strongest. This action has been on for more than 8nonths now, and they are not backing down, and so you think a lame instruction has going back to class by this FG would hold waters. My brother, is as much as I want this stand off to end, ASUU is having the ace and the FG knows it. If today FG proscribe ASUU, then the university system in Nigeria won't survive it. Most of this lecturer can easily get better or equal offer in some African countries at the very least. FG knows better, and they would blink first, I can assure you of that. That myth will win soon be demystified. There are not many universites outside Nigeria that can tolerate Nigerian lecturers excesses. Even if they get the job first time, most of them will come back after getting involved in corruption, plagiarism, sex and money for marks and incessant absence from lectures. |

bluefilm: They have done their research and they have found out that the ONLY LANGUAGE that the Federal Government understands is STRIKE. That's a lame research, consdering it has never really worked but only waste students time. But i think FG is ready to discredit the research once and for all this time around. |

bahaushe1: They promised to pay on or before 7th December. Let's give them chance to 'fail'. Today is 7 One thing is clear, Buhari won't pay ASUU from March to November fully. So ASUU should make up their minds |
Education › Re: No Resumption Until FG Pays Withheld Salaries – ASUU by ProphetM0hammad: 8:37am On Dec 07, 2020 |
zoghys: Which other method would you have suggested?. Lecturer are human being too and they see on daily basis how elected leaders steals with reckless abandonment by people with low IQ, while highly cerebral people retires to abject poverty. They simply want to secure their tomorrow, while still active and the best way is industrial action regardless of whose horse is gourd. So if you look it at the peripheral then their action is far too much, but if you know the leaders we have in this country then you will understand and stand with their cause. Then that method without considering the adverse effects on students is the grand selfishness people have always been accusing ASUU of. Let's assume the Government should tell them No work, no pay No more meetings or negotiations That ASUU should go back to the classroom first before they will get any salary. What do you think will happen? |

bluefilm: Which other method(s) do you suggest? That's for them to find out. After all they claim to be great researchers. Some if not most of them were instrumental in getting people like Buhari and Adamu to their present positions. I don't understand why suddenly they expect them to show great love and commitment to western education. This strike won't end the usual way, i don't think the Government is ready pay ASUU for going on strike, at most they will offer them one or two months Salaries. |

zoghys: Mumu, how many of your elected leaders work what they get?. Those teacher's of leaders have toiled more than they earn, and still stay back when some have better offer elsewhere, believing in a deadbeat country like ours with sickly leaders who are the helms of affair. Your average senator earns over 13million monthly and loot much more in the name of community project, while erudite professor who have much to offer earn averagely 500k per month, with some earning less. Think oboy, before you comment. This your talk no follow ASUU should stop pressing home their demands with a method that will only waste student's time. |

otokx: Government will eventually pay them. Are you sure? Because when i count the number of months ASUU have spent at home from just 2017 to now, it's almost thrice the ones they've spent on their jobs. Their major motivation for embarking on incessant strikes at any given opportunity is their belief that it won't affect their salaries one way or another. |
Education › Re: No Resumption Until FG Pays Withheld Salaries – ASUU by ProphetM0hammad: 7:57am On Dec 07, 2020 |
samsard: They've not been to work in close to a year. They get paid even when they decide to go on lengthy strikes, they get paid even when they don't do their jobs properly. That's public service for you. Part of the negotiations should be that ASUU will get only two months salaries as an act of good faith from the government. Even the two months is like a bonus. |

Rgade: Forget about Earned academic allowance. Forget revitalization fund. Forget UTAS. Forget 2009 agreement. This is the basic salaries being owed lecturers for months now that we're talking about. Even this the govt is finding too difficult to pay! Is there any atom of seriousness or commitment from those charlatans towards resolving this issue? I personally know that the pledged N70bn is way too astronomical to expect this particular govt to dump into education alone, especially considering their antecedents. But what about owed salaries,is that also too much? Owed salaries? You mean these great lecturers were busy working and delivering great lectures yet this evil government has decided not to pay them for their work? This is pure evil. |

Angelfrost: Arteta has a lot to prove and lose this evening...
This woeful home and away run since that penalty win at Old Trafford just can't continue. The Gunners have to step to the plate, and play like their lives depend on it (and it does).
Beating an inspired and unbeaten Mourinho's Spurs will be the redemption and turning point they truly and badly need!!! Even if he wants to, he won't be able to do anything. I don't know if there's anything like a false big team, but Arsenal is not a big team. Europa league regulars for five seasons without even winning it. A team that finished 8th last season and aleady lost 5 times out of 10 games this season. What exact type of miracle are people expecting? |

emitheo: Alright guys, I never for once thought I would come across this in my life.
I met this girl through an online dating app. We chatted, and later exchanged numbers.
Later, we started talking on phone. We vibed along very well. She was a good conversationist and all. Fast forward to 3 days later, we met in my apartment. We gisted and shared/opened up about the pasts.
Then the shocker revelation; Babe told me she was raped thrice or so. After that, she became traumatized psychologically and couldn't help but started sleeping with guys. It was like, she lost her senses.
Now, guys unfortunately... Her body count is up to 35. She has since stopped and moved on from that lifestyle.
But I lost words. She is feeling unloved and unwanted now. Guys, I like this girl so much but.... I am now even more confused. Constructive advise needed. What do I do?
Everyone deserves to be loved nah. You are her savior, since you are here now, she will stop sleeping around. Love her Spend on her Be committed to her. Spend less time with your work and always stay with her. I can sense that she's your Soulmate. But most importantly, send her to Germany for her Master Degree. Then you two can get married and live happily ever after. It happens all the time. |

Peacewalker: Hehehehehe you never chee chum chi, next chelsea game is Everton, follow by Leeds senior brother Wolves, more fire await Chelsea, they should just calm down. Leeds today were unlucky with their chances and they almost give Chelsea a run for their money, it just that Chelsea too has quick (fast) legs and tireless players in every position, assuming Azpliqueta were in today's game he will gas out and Leeds will run him out, in fact he will sleep on bicycle resting in order to recover, before you will say Jack Robinson Chelsea would have conceded like 2 to 3 goals today if not for Reece James. Anyways kudos to them, they did a well done job by grinding and taking all 3point home. What's the essence of all this shalaye Chelsea just dey beat Wolves and Everton? Go check the fixtures of your team too Leeds were lucky indeed, a team that faced 23 shots. |
