Bhadmus77: I have been going through your comments and the Reply of the other guy And I must say that he is making a lot of sense and u are not. Are u even aware of how protests start? Do u even know about the demands of the union. Let me be Realistic and Factual with u, no matter the protest, block airports, block CBN road, block everywhere, SCHOOLS CANNOT RESUME this year. Did u see the warning from CMD of LUTH who said schools may close down after they finish their term tbis week due to the infection rate? Whether Covid is real or not, if they Lockdown, we have not choice than to sit at home.
Number 2. Any protest that Is done now is just an effort in Futility. Be a realist and not an optimist. Save the energy for a Protest on Jan 4.
The best u can do now is to do online awareness for massive turnout on January 4.
Before u quote me, kindly Note, I am a 500l student also affected by ASUU strike, and I'm sure u will be in 100-300l so u should know that I'm more affected than u.
Also, a word of advice, reduce calling those guys up there "idiots" The protest is long overdue. And the protest is not for school to resume this year, rather for next year as early as possible. So further delaying it doesn't make sense. |

Ibegtodiffer: Choi! you have become an oracle in this matter o, Lol! Most things you say seems to happen! I hope this doesn't go in favour of your prediction this time. because there would always be consequences. Remember court verdict does not change the will of a people. Several members are leaving the country, a lot more are plotting same. At the end you'll be left, largely with those who do the work just to earn salaries. And I don't know a country that gets better by mortgaging it's intellectuals. Academia is a universal venture. As long as you're good, infact, above average (60%), opportunities will always present themselves. I pray the FG does not wreck more havoc on the future of education, just to prove their might. I'm not making any prediction. It was Ngige that didn't deliver the right messages. No one agreed to pay ASUU any outstanding salaries before they call off the strike. We'll see when the case is taken to industrial court. One lecturer here was arguing with me that even though they are on strike they have been working as their works doesn't start and end in the classroom, that some of them have been doing their Publishing and some kangaroo researches. He may be right. But the Circular sent to the Government in March reads: Total and comprehensive strike, with items such as: Stoppage of project supervisions and all research works among others succinctly put. |

Ibegtodiffer: Hahaha...you ehn. Well ASUU already lose a lot. But we pray it ends in favour of the country. At times there is no wisdom in burning down a house to kill the Rat, cos at the end, the same house must be rebuilt. But who dey ground, no dey fear to fall. Cheers. Students have been the only casualties from time immemorial. What has ASUU lost? They go on incessant strikes which allow them to focus on other businesses knowing fully well that they will be paid their salaries once they get back. I have said it several times that Strikes won't improve anything. Let ASUU call a congress and ask their members to endorse Buhari for third term, you'll be surprised a significant portion of them will oblige. Then after carelessly getting a dedicated cow parent in power, they start demanding this and that knowing fully well that he doesn't care about education. The 70B will be released, but the issue of salaries will be settled in court next month. In this struggle against the evil Government, the students will lose their time, which sadly can't be gotten back while the lecturers will lose some salaries which is still considerable, one can always make money anytime. |

Nazgul: Domestic league is different from champions league. Anything can happen in the domestic league.
Champions league is quite different cos they're ready and prepared for each other. A lot can happen before then, injuries, form, even a transfer window in between. Saying a team will surely beat Chelsea in February cos they lost their two games in December is some beer palor analysis. |

Oga go sit down. With the big squad you have, fatigue isn't an excuse. Just say you don't know how to manage and rotate properly. If you are complaining of fatigue, what do you want a less privileged club like Arsenal to do? |

Notice he uses "we" when he's talking.
What I'm sure is that ASUU's struggle is just and they will triumph. The only thing I'll tell you is that, the students won't be the only one to lose something this time around. That has already been decided. |

bahaushe1: What would they have discussed at the meeting? They have reached understanding on all the items in contention. No need for any meeting now.
Let's government start implementing the offer. What offers? Biodun said they are still consulting na. I know it will take ASUU 5 months to finish consultations, infact they are yet to reach out to their members in Uranus and Saturn, due to distance barrier, that's why it's taking more time. We can't do anything for ASUU until we hear the outcome of their consultations. |

Ibegtodiffer: By the time you will realize it, it will be late to undo, just like Buhari's emergence as President.
If you are a student, go to your school & count how many Lecture halls, Hostels, Buses, Labs/equipments, books, etc that have "FGN" on them. Those are FG projects.
Anyone with TETFUND, NEEDS ASSESSMENT, ETF are all product of ASUU struggles.
A lot of folks don't know, but that is the truth. But this strike came about as a result of IPPIS and the Government stopping the salaries of the lecturers who didn't migrate to the platform .It's very usual for ASUU to include improvement of public universites inbetween their original demands to make it look more interesting. |
Education › Re: ASUU Has Spent 1,500 Days On Strike In 21 Years by ProphetM0hammad: 3:53pm On Dec 11, 2020 |
Ibegtodiffer: Why is it that you just don't look at the failure of governments? Your comments are generally sound, but rather than dwell, genuinely on solutions, you blame ASUU.
Government make promises, sign documents and for 11 years, they honour the agreements in bits, mostly after strikes.
It doesn't bother you that no government presence is ever felt in public universities except after ASUU strikes.
Yet, those who refused to honour the agreements ain't the problem, it is those that demand improved educational standards and get punished for asking that seem to be your problem?
Let our consciences be the judge. I'm not taking sides. If we are still recycling same set of leaders from Military era till now then no amount of strikes will improve the education sector. ASUU members themselves are partisans, I'm sure they are already planning 2023 elections maybe talking about Peter Obi, or Atiku or others. Same old corrupt fools. You elect them and start making demands, wasting student's time. Forget my first statement, I'm on the students side. |

Gabbriell: And how have you benefited from over 60 years of corruption?.
This is thesame way you guys lambasted NUT and allowed FG to bring it down. Now look at the state of primary and secondarry education. Compare the primary school you attended years ago with what is on ground now.
People now run to private primary schools now because of zombism displayed by your type in supporting FG to apply strict rule on NUT.
NUT no longer go on strike but now you are all running from public primary schools. SHAME! Then ASUU will meet the same fate as NUT very soon. Cos for an improvement in the Education sector to take place, we have to change this country crops of leaders completely. Nothing will happen because of incessant strikes, only that students time will be wasted and ASUU will lose some salaries. |

maxzee: what's even the essence of the meeting. After the meeting, ASUU in their cunning way will not disclose the outcome of the meeting not until FG speak up, immediately they heard what FG said, that's when they will now talk.
ASUU will later on take the blame if care is not taken. The blame is already on them. They think they are untouchable. |
