Eighteen-year-old, Chinasa Nweze, a former student of Lagoon School, Lekki, Lagos State, on Tuesday emerged the best overall in West Africa in the May/June 2021 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Nweze beat over 1, 500,000 million candidates that sat for the school exam in the five member countries in the sub region.

She and two other students who placed second and third position respectively in the International Excellence award were rewarded at the 70th Annual meeting of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) held in Abuja.
The award ceremony attracted Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare, top government functionaries from four other member countries.

In the May/June 2021 WASSCE, Nweze obtained eight As. She also emerged the best overall in the Nigeria by beating over 1.5million candidates.

The second position in West Africa went to a Ghanaian student, Asante Brako, who also recorded eight As in the school exam.

Another 18-year-old Nigerian, Edeani Godswill, obtained eight As in May/June 2021 WASSCE.

The Vice President acknowledged the outstanding performance of the three students and urged other SS111 students to emulate the best students.

Osinbajo said by the performance of Nweze and Edeani in the May/June 2021 WASSCE, they have done the country proud.

Osinbajo presented the international and national awards to the best WASSCE students.

While the Minister of State for Education, Mr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, said the awards to the outstanding students would spur others to do well in the May/June 2022.

Have you travel out of this country before? If you do then you will understand the treatment we get from international communities is like being a Nigeria is a sin
I have. But we caused it for ourselves. Don't pass the blame

What you said is just wish.

But it's both undesirable and unachievable.

Let's work with great optimism on our Dear country.

Be careful what you wish. The country you dream of may be grossly worse than Nigeria. Don't forget, Nigeria's problems are solveable, not otherwise.
I like your optimism. It's very motivational. I was once like you. But sit back and check very well. Every change and development of a nation must have a place to begin. Where do you start the change in the country? The country is too big to be governed.

Correct!
Home is Home. No place like it.
Let's join hands and build Nigeria to be greater. This is the only home we've got
Nigeria cannot be good as it is now. Where do we start from. Let's divide the country into two- north and south. It's better. It will make the country governable.

I hope they will have sense now? Supporting those who placed other countries as priorities over a country they colonize, as a Nigeria if you’re not aware they don’t need you in the US or UK and other Western country then you need to think why is it very difficult when you applied for visa they find every manner of things to disqualify you from coming, keep supporting those who are enslaving you this 21century
No country can just open its gate wide for anybody from another country to cross into.

Supported with these points below:

The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is an ancient proverb which suggests that two parties can or should work together against a common enemy. A phrase expressed in the Latin as "Amicus meus, inimicus inimici mei" ("my friend, the enemy of my enemy"wink.

Russia NEVER had black slaves nor did Russia create a market to trade black people (1600-1800).

Russia NEVER participated in the Berlin conference to share Africa like some piece of goat meat (1884).

Russia NEVER colonised, underdeveloped and looted Africa's resources (1914-1960).

Russia NEVER enabled a safety net for African leaders to hide stolen funds, use these stolen funds to develop itself and then grant the same funds back to Africa as loans.

Russia never invaded and destabilized any African country (Libya, Somalia, Congo, Burkina Faso, Egypt, South Africa, et cetera).

Russia never participate in the TransAtlantic slave-trading nations, like the Portuguese, the British, the Spanish, the French, the Dutch, and the Danish. Russia didn’t establish outposts on the African coast where they stole and purchased slaves.

And you think that if Russia had the chance to perpetrate these evils that they wouldn't have done these and much more? They are all the same.

Good point, I'm not disputing that but I think Indians are one of the loving people on Earth.

Indians don't descriminate, they don't feel superior and they're very nice to strangers. I think the rate of poverty in their country make them take any jobs that comes their ways.

If you're very familiar with an Indians online you will notice they're so despirate to leave their country for good.

Nigerians are a little bit exposed and know the difference between hustling and being a slave in which some other nationals don't see as a big deal in their countries
you don't know Indians. Indians hate even blacks and can be violent to blacks. Go to an Indian company in Nigeria and see how they treat blacks. Man is just selfish. If blacks were white, they would still hate others and feel superior to others

I can see you really have an issue with Nigeria especially the way Nigerians flood into your country. It's ok. It's personal. Nigerians like traveling, especially the Igbos. They look for new grounds. When you talk about kidnapping and insecurity, any country can have that. If today terrorism like Boko Haram enters your country, that's when you will know what it means . And they are not there now not because Ghana's security systems are up to par. No. Terrorism is affecting Nigeria, especially the northern part, if you must know, because of what the country stands for. If they capture Nigeria, the black African countries are captured already.

what is the quality of nigerian education?
can people sleep with their two eyes closed in Nigeria? grin
Is there hunger in Nigeria? grin
why are people being kidnapped upanddown in nigeria?
What are infant and maternal mortality rates in Nigeria?

Please stop. I don't have time for this. If you have a personal vendetta with any Nigerian, deal with it. I'm not here to argue with you or rating by an international body. That's why Africa will continue like this. Because you think your country is OK,has arrived. I'm just lying down sick, if not, no need for this. And I should not answer your questions because you have not been here. It's funny I saw life expectancy in your yardstick. You now mock people that die young maybe due to sickness or war or armed insurgencies. I know if Nigeria was like Afghanistan, you would be happy Africans like you are dying.
By the way, the quality of education in Nigeria is higher than Ghana's.

The problem with nigerians is that they know how to lie to themselves. grin They've told themselves lies over the years and are still telling themselves lies today grin

A typical nigerian will tell things that will shock outsiders. and yet they can't even give you one fact to prove anything. At best they will forge and manipulate numbers to suit themselves and their whims grin

Nigeria today is not a rich country. Indeed, if the truth be told, Nigeria is a very poor country grin but how many nigerians will accept that? grin

why do you think other countries are doing better than Nigeria? Many African countries have accepted their realities and are working assiduously to improve the quality of lives of their people. but nigerians are still living in lies. They tell themselves their country is rich when in reality the are poor. They will tell themselves they are hardowrking when in reality they are very lazy and criminally-minded mudder fuggarx grin they will even tell themselves they are smart and handsome when in reality they are as ugly as funk grin

you guys should change your ways ooh, so Baba God can have mercy on your country grin Nigeria shouldn't be like this now but you guys will keep lying to yourselves. no wonder your country is going down. and please don't blame Ghana for your situation, huh? grin

That's why I said no need of this back and forth. You have not been to Nigeria. We have big issues. Yes. But don't compare Ghana to Nigeria.
For what it is worth, the number of people living in Nigeria with a good quality of life is bigger than the number of the population of Ghana as a whole because of our population. But the number of people living in poverty is bigger too in Nigeria. Are you seeing what I'm saying. You can only understand if you have been here. That's the truth. Forget about media issues. Travel and learn
In Ghana for instance, there is no indigenous billionaire in US dollars, few indigenous companies, many Nigerian companies.
I met a Ghanaian who came to Nnewi for work from Ghana. He marveled what he saw there. He was encouraged and said he learned. Nnewi is a small town in the East, but very industrious. The businesses and houses and companies going on there closed his mouth. It's a competition. In Nnewi, building a bungalow there is like a waste of your land. He told me he had learnt how to be industrious. Nigerians are not satisfied, they want more, they push more. You see them talk against govt and each other because they want more.
So please, remove pride, let's see a way to improve

Then, let's leave. The way Nigerians castigate their own country has made other countries to think they are better off. It's not true. We have issues, like every country. That's just it. Mr. Man. I have been reading your post. Have you been to Nigeria? I don't think so. If you have, then you won't be saying what you are saying. I have been to Ghana. Apart from electricity and security, you can't compare Nigeria to Ghana. And know that in any country with a population just like ours, you will see the good, the bad and the ugly. Just like, if you have been to India, with their huge population you might be pissed with what you will see there. And Nigerian travel to many countries, not because the countries are better, but they need a place for lesser competition. Just learn that. But for you, I must commend your patriotism. But don't say what you don't know.

My Journey back to Nigeria through the Atlantic Ocean, at Limbe.

I had not been on the sea before, much more a deep sea like that. But I was open in my mind to be intrigued. After waiting for the good Samaritan of a driver I met to make payment. I jumped onto the flying boat.
I was given a tube as a safety jacket and we set off.
The first jolt of the boat on the wavy sea gave me a rush of adrenaline. I thought if the men in charge were sure they knew what they were doing with the boat or if they had taken some drugs like the stereotypical seamen. I pondered if we were going to sink. The fears were there at first, but I concluded that I was not going to go that way. Small joy came from that inner assurance I received.
The boat had like 7 passengers in all, with huge containers of water at the center to balance the boat against the sea. We were sailing at high speed on the ocean.

After a while, the boat engine came to a quick halt at the center of the sea. Immediately, questions came rushing back to my heart. 'Are you sure the boat has not broken down on the sea?. What will happen then? I searched for answers. The stop was to fill water into the vessels we had, prolly for more balance, if I'm not mistaken. All around was colored water. As a matter of fact, the horizon ahead was an endless view of water and clouded mist.
After the process, we continued.

It would take like 4 hours on the sea to get to Ibaka, Akwaibom. I was now enjoying the voyage and Kickstarted discussion with a new friend. He was a freewheeling traveler, who had traveled to Cuba, Austria and countries. He continued to speak and laugh with a Cameroonian girl beside, I joined in. She was traveling to Nigeria to buy cosmetics and wigs for her enterprise back in her country. And other passengers who were familiar with the expedition. But for me, I was a greenhorn on a new route.

-----------------------------–-------------------------------------

We were not alone on the sea. Other boats were there, some for fishing and some with goods. We saw one boat running back from the opposite direction and signaled to us, but we really did not get the signal, but we knew something was off. Our sailor followed suit with the said boat with the mind to evade sea pirates or Cameroonian soldiers on the sea. We were told of many dangers and shootings on that route. My new friend whispered to me and said that our sailor should soft pedal on his speed, that if something should occur, that he might swim away like a fish, or in his words 'literally turn into a fish' and swim off, leaving us to face a nasty fate,That many of the sailors were using juju. I couldn't doubt. I was cautious. Very cautious.

After running fast to the opposite direction, I mustered courage and told the sailor to take us back to our route to Nigeria. I had been shown favor by God since I started the journey. I was, very sure we would cross the imminent danger, no matter what it was. The sailor was also the stubborn one, he drove us back to our route.
After a while, we were signaled to stop by the Cameroonian soldiers on the sea. You dare not run, you know.

.....

MY BUS TO LIMBE

I boarded a bus to Limbe. But I had to tell the driver that I didn't have my ID, for him to know how to help me. He said I should pay extra 5000 cfa to him. I did without asking questions. But the issue now was what I would do when we got to an army control, where passengers would all get down. I asked the motor boy, he spoke with the driver and came up with a solution.
He told me that when we got to the control that I should come to the front seat and sit as the motor boy, and he would go down and present his own ID as one of the passengers.

My heart was beating, as I didn't know how to become the conductor. I was agitated and was asking the passenger next to me. He explained, but I was still jumpy. God helped us, we passed the first check point without going down, prolly because it was already night.

When we got to the main army check point, I was called to fill in as the conductor. I was not to speak, otherwise, I would betray my nationality and the rest would be history. I obeyed, but I was still doubting my self. But I just knew God would help. We took time at the control because of the number of people and vehicles to check. People showed their ID cards. One of the soldiers also checked the vehicle, with me serving as the 'Motor Boy'. I heaved in respite, when we drove away to Douala. We all caught some z'ss, as we arrived Limbe from Douala by 4am. I alighted.

I asked for direction to the sea, a passenger, whose husband was a driver helped me. When I got to the place to meet her husband, I was told that flying boat to Nigeria was 30,000 cfa excluding other logistics and settlements. The only money I had was 25k. I was stranded.
I had spent more than one hundred and something thousand already in the country. I went home to the driver's house as he told me to wait till a boat would leave by 8 am.

By 8am, the driver, who I pleaded with to see a way to help get me through with the 25k I had, decided to help me. We headed to the sea. There, he spoke with the sea Boys and gave them the money. He also paid for my tube, my improvised life jacket.

We sailed off.

Watch out for My sea journey back to Nigeria

E be like say you no know wetin dey.

- Paul Biya has been in power for 40 years. 2022 will make it 41 years.
- The gendarmes used to raid Igbo traders doing business in Bakassi in the 1990s and mock them calling them Biafrans.
- The Nigerian government handed over the Ambazonian leader to Cameroon. I think the guy is now serving a life sentence. In the same vein, the Ambazonian group said they will not support IPOB as they do not want the refugees in Cross River, Akwa Ibom and other states to be expelled by the Nigerian government back to Cameroon where they will meet an uncertain fate.

So if you are a Nigerian travelling by road to Anglophone Cameroon, you are taking a gamble with your life. For sure! That area is a conflict zone. Don't forget the Cameroonian government shut down telecoms and internet services there for 1 year.

I heard the Ambazonian head separationist is in prison. I didn't know Nigeria played a part in that. Good to know.

The War for Secession in Bamenda

After a few days, I heard what sounded like gun shots in Bamenda. I cared less, because it was almost the first first week of December. It must be fire works, I thought. I was foolish. The next day, I was told the rounds were gun shots. I laughed at my innocent ignorance. It was a normal thing. I head more and more as I stayed. People always ran from the gunshots. I was told corpses were also see on the roads.

MONDAY SIT-AT-HOME

I thought it was only Igbos fighting for secession observe sit at home, I was wrong. I think Igbos copied it from the ones of Ambazonia. They started the sit-at-home years ago. And it has been more serious. I even think they can easily separate faster than Igbos because of many factors like their distinctiveness from the francophone
