So the whole agitation is all about getting more prominence within the Fed govt and not because they actually think that Nigeria is not working? |

JohnXcel: We in the South West (The Yorubas) have always believed that brains, intelligence and reasoning will always beat brawns and braggadocio, particularly when it comes to politics.
But realistically, we can't expect all tribes (or group of people) to think and act the same way; though using the vehicle of hate, lies and insults is deplorable and inexcusable.
If the South East (The Igbos) want out, let them push for a referendum for their core SE states and have their Biafra. You mean those 5 potopoto hamlets? No way, Igbos are interested in oil and access to the sea, which non of those 5 potopoto villages can guarantee. |

Mazeltovscotty: you are the second person I will be replying. I have refused to reply others due to the way they approached this discussion. Actually, every nairalander is fond of dislodging any news or topics that doesnt suit his/her selfish interest. Back to the topic. SEAPORT: everybody has been hiding under the phony false pretence of "seaport" just to justify their claim. Sir, kindly tell me how many seaports do we have in Kwara state, kogi state, Benue state, plateau state, Nasarawa state and Niger state that made the region to lick up about 54billion naira in North Central. Remove Nassarawa state from North central, you region is still beaten. Secondly, all these IGR figures doesnt mean high standard of living of per capita income. If you want to know a region whose IGR is a reflection of its per capita income, then we have to bring into consideration, the population of each state divided by the IGR or the aggregrate population of the region divided by the total IGR of the region. Sir, I was fair enough in my analysis but you guys always wear life jacket when you found yourself in the ocean of truth You guys should release your feet from the gas pedal, this is getting too much |

Lloydfather: This is why every Igbo men should believed that oil alone is not why Hausa & Yoruba is kicking against biafra. My brother I can clearly tell u that the land borders in those south west state was where their igr is coming from, who are those patronizing those borders ? The biafrans. The igr of Lagos is coming from no other place than import duties in fact import duties is contributing to 90% of Lagos igr, (both lands and sea borders). And who are those paying this duties? The biafrans. This is why the FG is discouraging any other sea port that will mount as challenge to Lagos port.
When they said biafra is landlocked this is what they mean, the land and sea borders is bringing more Igr than anything else and biafrans are the tools. Think my biafra brothers Sometimes, it's better to remain silent if you are ignorant, than to talk and people see you as dumb. What has IGR of a state got to do with Import duty that is solely collected by the Nigeria Customs on behalf of the FG? |

Billyonaire: Bulk of the IGR from the SW is from Oil companies - IOCs and LOCs whose installations are at SS with Headquarters in Lagos.
Also note that there is no point castigating Biafrans as SE people alone. Biafra encompasses SE/SS, so if this statistics was to make nonsense of the hen that lays the golden eggs then you are mistaken. Take away the Taxes paid by LOCs and IOCs to Lagos State then you will figure out the strengths of each zones.
I see you guys are so ignorant of Biafran loyalty in the SS.
We are one people. No propaganda penetrates to the creeks. We know where our loyalty lies when it comes to skirmishes. The Feds have killed Isaac Boro, Ken Saro Wiwa, Dele Giwa etc, do not think our loyalty can be purchased by propaganda. You are perpetually writing bullcrap. What type of skunk do you smoke? |

How can you tell me that north-west and north-Central generated revenue more than south-east, what are they producing?...How many mineral resources do they have?. .rubbish...even apart from Lagos, south west should be the lowest on that chart.. That is your opinion, why not bring out your own statistics, that way, we can compare and do a proper analysis and debate. |

kernel505: I wouldn't know but please go out and ask, who is the king of Real Estate on the street, that's why the Igbo man is called Land Grabber.
The biggest pharmaceutical firm in Nigeria is owned, down stream sector Igbos aren't lagging too. The real economy are the SMEs not the multinationals, they are the highest employer of labour.
Need I correct you, that Hausas has the highest richest individuals, which doesn't make up 4-5% of the there population, same goes to the West. Igbos has the highest number of entrepreneurs. Stop lying to yourself. The following are the biggest estate player in Lagos, forget whatever your brother tell you. Just google these names below. Sijibomi Ogundele Yinka Adesope Hakeem Oguniran Tayo Fashogbon Adetola Emmanuel King Jide Awosedo (His company, Grant Properties Limited is the first company anywhere in the world to be granted approval by the United States Government, to develop an estate for the Foreign Service Nationals of its Embassy in Lagos.) Rasak Okoya Oba Yeye Ogunwusi and his brother Tunji Ogunwusi Tokunbo Ajayi Olu Okeowo Yemi Idowu Tayo Sonuga Sade Gbadamosi Olumide Osunsina Kunle Tinubu Weyinmi Edodo Gilbert Chagoury. These are the biggest real estate players in Lagos. You are free to google and counter this fact. You mentioned Pharmceutical, which supposed to me your only claim to manufacturing in Nigeria, only Emzor is wholly owned by Igbos, just like Mopson is wholly owned By Yoruba, Fidson, Chemiron, Glasosmikline and May & Baker are diluted. So tell me what you want to brag on. It's not by noise but facts on ground |

I can tell you that if JAMB, NECO and SSCE were based on states without respect to state of origin, Lagos will forever be ranked first.
I don't know which commercial area Yoruba's are better than the Igbos. The Insurance business is firmly in the hands of the Yoruba. The real Estate sector is almost 95% of the SW is in their grip The inter SW transport (including Lagos) is almost 99% in their hands. The downstream oil trading ( petrol stations) is almost 100% their The stocks of the bluest of the blue chip companies is in there own. The most capitalized bank and best performing bank in Nigeria is own by them The ICT business is firmly in their grip. They operates more than 2/3 of the port Terminal and shipping companies. The list is endless. The problem is that the Yorubas don't make noise unlike Igbos. Now, tell me apart from trading in imported items, tell me the commercial areas Igbos are better. |

TheArchangel: and all those money are generated by only Yorubas, right At least, I can boldly say without mincing words that the 49b from the SE was generated by IGBOS. Can you say same of SW and then other regions in Nigeria. Can you be bold enough to say that my people generated this amount without the help of non-indigenous people of the land.? You are proud to write that gibberish? You just unwittingly agreed with what many people say here that the SE is very unwelcoming to visitors and investors. It also happens to be the most culturally and socially un-diverse part of Nigeria where you find the least of non-indigenous people. The question now is why do people avoid the Igbo part of Nigeria.? |

Politics › Re: Will Igbos Be Deported From Nigeria If Biafra Is Declared? by ProWalker: 7:50pm On Jun 04, 2017 |
kingzizzy: As I said before, Ojukwu was in a very good position to have won the war. Ojukwu had the support, manpower and the Oil. Had Ojukwu been able to export Oil and buy arms, food and other supplies, there is no magic that Nigeria could have done to win the war. The reason Ojukwu lost was the Naval blockade enforced by British Warships. In 1967, the Nigerian Navy was still in its infancy, It was just roughly 10 years old. Nigeria had no warship or even the technical know how even operate one. Nigeria did not acquire any Warship untill the 80's. Even now, Nigeria has no carriers and less than 5 Standard Warships. Warships cost hudreds of millions of Dollars. So when you say that Biafra was the weaker side, I laugh. The massive military support Nigeria got from Britain and Russia is what won the war for Nigeria. Ojukwu was simply a bad loud mouth strategist. War is all about strategy and not just using starving hapless children and women for propaganda. |

steppins: Ask yourself one thing, which tribe is the richest? You can't own industries if you're not rich. Majority of Yorubas are in the civil service. Do they own industries too, while working for government? You guys need to wake up and smell the coffee. Lagos was made to be a business hub and people from all over Nigeria came in to invest in it. Whatever it's earning now or any status it has attained, will wane off if this country is divided. Why do you think your people avoid secession? Which tribe is richest ? Are you ok? |
