What percentage of our internal trade which is bigger than imports need a deep seaport to thrive? What cost would be saved if goods produced in calabar can reach Benin or Lagos in a day instead of 5 days or a week by truck?

What of local tourism that will bring demand for hotels food and services that rail connection will enhance, deep seaport will be practically useless for tourism. Abeokuta is already making a killing from tourism within a few weeks the Lagos Ibadan rail started operations. Your opinion is very ignorant and myopic.

This is very good achievement in Buhari Osinbajo administration, right now I am enjoying that of Lagos-Ibadan railway

Ibadan needs that rail because it have to connect goods and passengers from Lagos state. South west is programmed to depend on Lagos.

Niger Delta don't need that rail line for niw. We understand the yourubas game plan - to have reason not to develop a formidable and working deep sea port in that region.

1% of the funds proposed for that project can turn around port harcourt and calabar sea ports.

These people are strategically planning to make Lagos the starting point to every Nigerian economies.

Let every region have its own economic base and reliance. We can not always depend on Lagos. I dont support this project.

The same reasons why Lagos is over populated. Economic prosperous should not be dependent on any state or region.

Niger Delta should resist it and opt for two working deep sea port in that region and you will see the over dependence on Lagos will reduce.

Fashola is intentionally destroying the road infastructure in the South East. What this means is that even if the whole budgeted funds for the works ministry are released to him, Raji Fashola gets to decide which projects that are to be done and boy, has he dealt with the South East using this method? Owerri to Onitsha road! Onitsha to Enugu, Enugu to Port Harcourt road! All are in their worst conditions while Fashola comes to take pictures at second Niger bridge every few months! It didn't start today. He was the one that first told non Yorubas to "go back to their villages" , he doubled down on that by rounding up destitutes, including many from the South South and the middle belt and dumped them at Upper Iweka in the middle of the night! That was enough to stop him from accessing any serious office at the center but he "took a bow" at the Senate! Fashola is Evil and is a bigger threat to igbos than Buhari!

Who don't know that Fashola is a bigot and hates the igbos with passion. What did he do for south east as minister of power, as minister of housing, as minister of works?
