i think this man has proven to be capable of leading a state like anambra state with his efforts thus far he has been doing a lot to develop the state on his little capacity. what and what is he bringing to the table as manifeasto?

I think the issue here is that Aba shoe industry is a conglomerate of shoemakers. Out of over 70,000 shoe makers, it's a shame that not a single big and trusted name stands out. All we hear in the media is 'Aba made'.

This is an opportunity for them to stand out, brand, advertise, market their services and stand out like the shop rites, Versace,coscharis etc.
If I wanted to buy Aba shoe and I'm in maiduguri, who do I approach? Where do I go to? Can I order Aba made shoe online from a trusted shoemaker? Are they online with their individual websites?

If I was there, I'd want to sell myself and stand out from the crowd. It will take one bad shoe maker to mar the reputation of other seasoned and reliable shoe makers and that's because they are branded as one enterprise 'Aba made'

The New President Of Universal Television, USA Is Nigerian born Yale Graduate Pearlena Igbokwe. She is an Igbo Civil War survivor.

Igbo-born Pearlena Igbokwe has been named President Universal Television, a subsidiary of National Broadcasting Cable (NBC), Universal Television Group.

The veteran Executive Producer is not only the first Nigerian to head a major US television studio, but also the first African-American female to assume the position.

She was named studio president on Friday, replacing Indian-American Bela Bajaria who stepped down earlier in the week after nearly five years of running the Los Angeles-based unit.

Announcing Igbokwe’s new position on Friday, the president of NBC Entertainment, Jennifer Salke, described her track record at NBC as remarkable, thus making her a good choice for the topmost position at the studio. Jennifer said:

“Pearlena’s remarkable track record in drama programming at NBC over the last few years made it clear that she was the ideal choice to lead the studio into its next phase of growth.

Her leadership, vision and taste have resulted in an impressive string of drama successes – from The Blacklist, Blindspot, Chicago Med, Shades of Blue and the upcoming series This Is Us, Timeless and Taken—that coincides with our return to a top position among networks.”

Pearlena Igbokwe was born in Lagos State, grew up in a small village in the southeastern part of Nigeria where she hails from and had joined her father in the US at the age of six after the Nigerian civil war.

She joined NBC Entertainment four years ago as executive vice president for drama development after working two decades as a programming executive for Showtime Networks, which is owned by CBS Corp. Greenblatt was in charge of programming at Showtime until 2011, when he joined NBC.

She was featured as one of Multichannel News’ “Wonder Women” in 2010, had  also appeared previously in Hollywood Reporter’s “Top 35 under 35,” as well as in Ebony and Black Enterprise’s “Top 50 Showbiz Players.”

Former governorship candidate of Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA), in Anambra, Mr Godwin Ezeemo, has tasked the Igbos to save their language and culture from extinction.

Ezeemo, who chaired the Ndi Igbo Cultural Festival 2016 celebration in Asaba, a festival organized by the Igbo Cultural Forum in Asaba, Delta State, said the Igbo must not be ashamed of their culture.



The festival with the theme: “Igbo Bu Ofu” (the Igbos are one), was said to be the first festival aimed at uniting the Igbo race and promoting their culture in line with what is obtainable world wide.

Ezeemo urged the Igbo to come together in order to surmount any perceived obstacle and challenge facing them as a people.

He said: “Any race that abandons her language for other languages already has a major challenge. We must learn to promote our language, use it to instruct our children and to impact any form of technology using the Igbo language, like India, China, among others.”

The United Nations’ top genocide official said on Friday he had reports that militia fighters in Central African Republic hunted down and massacred members of the Fulani ethnic group during violence that killed 85 civilians this week.

Clashes erupted on Monday in Bria, a town about 600 km north-east of the capital Bangui, between rival rebel groups the Popular Front for the Renaissance of Central African Republic (FPRC) and the Union for Peace in Central Africa (UPC).

In a statement, Adama Dieng, the UN’s special adviser on the prevention of genocide, said the FPRC reportedly singled out ethnic Fulani in the town, carrying out house-to-house searches, killing, looting and abducting residents.
The UPC is largely composed of Fulani, a group of historically nomadic herders found across west and central Africa.

FPRC fighters also entered hospital buildings and prevented wounded Fulani from receiving medical treatment. In addition to the dead, another 76 people were wounded and nearly 11,000 displaced by the violence, Dieng said. Fighting between the FPRC and UPC also broke out in the town of Bambari.

“If carried out in a widespread or systematic manner, such acts could constitute crimes under international law that can be prosecuted before national or international courts,” Dieng said.

Both the FPRC and UPC are former members of the mainly Muslim Seleka rebel alliance that united to oust then-President Francois Bozize in 2013. Their overthrow of the government of the majority Christian nation and subsequent human rights abuses sparked a backlash from Christian militias, known as anti-balaka.

Thousands were killed in the ensuing ethnic cleansing which led to the de facto partition of Central African Republic into a Muslim north and Christian south. Successful elections, seen as essential to ending the chaos, were held earlier this year. But flare-ups of violence are a regular occurrence.

This week’s clashes in Bria were the worst instance of ethnic killing since France ended its peacekeeping mission last month, leaving security largely in the hands of the 13,000-strong UN peacekeeping force.

The UN mission, known as MINUSCA, reinforced its presence in Bria in an attempt to prevent any further escalation in the violence. And Dieng called for investigations to identify those responsible.

Was home last over 10 years I went for burial, we usually spent Christmas when I was a kid then at village and I remember mbaraoye when masquarade performed then, I know St Charles church and there was a bush path that connect Achina to Akpo then, ai remember one stream like that with long steps to descend to the stream, places were sandy then, I'm crying now because I want to go home, my family and I are all lost here in Ibadan.#sad
