hulk616: I didn't believe it. Disney will never make R rated movies
Unknown people are insulting marvel to become known
Disney has some R rated movies but none recently I think but they are talking about taking that route again especially with the MCU and I believed them
And that guy didn't insult Marvel in any way bruh..stop being paranoid when someone actually praises a good thing(DCEU/BvS)
TheKingIsHere: Dr Strange director has left the MCU and Dr strange 2 film due to creative differences.
I bet they didn't allow him continue with the idea of including horror in the sequel.
I guess the formula is strictly pg13
That's the only plausible reason I can think of right now but I thought they already agreed that some horror will be added into the MCU especially with Deadpool and the new mutants
1000WaysToLive: Amazon has the massive customer base and the cash to remain a relevant player if they so desire.
Ditto for Apple.
Exactly..and that's the same thing with Sony..if you know this about Amazon why is it hard to admit the same truth about Sony? I'm not saying Sony is as big as Amazon but you should know they aren't slouches either..they are completely capable of running their pictures and staying relevant for as long as they want
Crackle is rather insignificant in the streaming space compared to other platforms and Sony has a minority stake.
For now.........and for it not to be said that all their eggs are in 1 basket.....is what I brought that up for
Let me be the first person to say "I'm done with this arguement" and actually do what I say
1000WaysToLive: They may end up doing the buying, the question remains is it enough? I wouldn't bet on it.
I view market share as something that extends beyond theatrical release windows and year-end box office.
The future is direct-to-consumer (sustainable) global scalability on various platforms or devices (including your car.)
Sony doesn't have the generational IP (enough of it) with built-in fandom, or the finances (and likely desire) to invest biliions in new library content to bulid a (very likely) usustainable streaming platform of their own (that isn't gaming of course).
At their modest size (in comparison) they are better served as arm's dealers to various players, like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Disney +, Apple, etc.
They have crackle and word is with the emergence of all these new streaming services they are serving cool original content for adults especially and they are going to start pushing it like the rest(streaming services are the IT thing right now dont forget HBOMax) so that's a really dope and reliable market if you ask me,a lil bit saturated tho...and tbf if you consider Amazon to be better than modest I don't know why you be thinking Sony doesn't have enough IP...
IAmSabrina: Everyone guesses. Even people who know more than you and me. Disney's stock price wasn't driven up by dummies looking to invest in an unstable company.
For myself, I don't need reassurance. It will unfold as it unfolds and it's not going to have a huge effect on my life. You can guess at my state of mind, but THAT's truly guessing.
1000WaysToLive: If Apple is truly interested in making their streaming aspirations a success, it's something that would make sense to me, same for Amazon.
Neither really view streaming as their core business though, in Amazon's case it's another service among many, with it being a givaway for some customers.
My guess is if Sony Pictures were purchased, It would be by one of the tech giants in media (FAANG minus Netflix).
I've seen some speculate about a Sony-Lionsgate meger, but I still don't think it would have the scale to compete in the new media landscape of walled gardens. When I say 'compete', I don't mean running the business successfully, I mean being a buyer vs. being a seller in the industry.
Streaming isn't Disney's core business either at the moment, but it will increasingly become a fundamental part of their overall success moving forward.
Dude just tell him that nobody is buying Sony pictures..a merger sounds more realistic but as number 3 in us/ca market major studio share they don't even need to,they are actually the ones that might do the buying of either lions gate,Amblin or Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer but later in the future tho
Xavier5: Bro this guys (1000WaysToLive and IAmSabrina) are just misunderstanding us and misinterpreting everything thus causing confusion.
The issue isn't about who is big between Disney and Sony which of course we know it's Disney, rather the argument is about if Sony has franchises to work on or not which of course they have both successful and unsuccessful including a Comic book shared universe (Sony Marvel Universe) and a potential one in Valient Cinematic Universe, that's if Bloodshot is a success.
As for the issue of Sony standing on their own, of course they can and will,
1.) they are financially stable besides they have back ups from their father (Sony Entertainment) and grandfather (Sony Corporation) 2.) Sony has and is turning in profit both from their franchises and original standalone movies. 3.) They have Franchises (both successful and unsuccessful) to work on, not also forgetting original standalone movies. 4.) They've got Spiderman (film rights), which is part of multiple franchises e.g MCU, into the spiderverse, Sony Marvel Universe, animated series etc 5.) Sony pictures won't be sold at least not now because * They making profits ** They're a ground for Sony Corporation to have their share of Hollywood's cake. *** They've got Spiderman (Film rights). Sony Corporation won't wanna lose that Money Making Machine, so they won't sell Sony pictures because selling it means goodbye to Spiderman rather what they will do is to acquire more rights (just as we've seen in Valient Comics [Film Rights]) and back up Sony pictures financially.
I drop my pen at this juncture to be taken up by anyone out there.
#Xavier. #Proudly_A_DCian.
Exactly.....for someone to come out and say they don't know where Sony will be in 2 or 3 years or that Sony has nothing going for them is just ridiculous and that's what I've been pointing out..
pu7pl3: Did y'all see that video where Feige said that Scarlett witch would now be the most powerful person in the whole MCU?I thought he said captain Marvel before, now looks like he is changing it cos Scarlett witch would be in Doctor strange 2
I have noticed that this type of content/discussions doesn't interest y'all on this thread..if its not some arguement about something(trivial or non trivial) y'all just crawl back onto hiding
