DavidApeldoorn8:
Good day everyone, please I need someone who can accommodate me, as I just gained admission at Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands and study commence this November but I received an email from the school stating there's housing shortage at this time due to the influx of students and I should travel from the 3rd week of December by which time it would have been resolved and I already booked my flight 2nd week of this month because school introduction week is from 23rd - 26th while class is 29th in November, please if you're kind enough to let me be with you for a month, my email is dnosawe@gmail.com God bless

I don't think anyone can be able to accommodate you in Apeldoorn. Most students in Apeldoorn are either staying in some tiny 12m² room that barely accommodates them (very tiny bed and a 2nd person can't even sleep on the floor cos there's no space if u know how small a 12m² space area is), or they have a roommate in a 22m² room, or they're staying in a students hostel.

Truly there's serious scarcity of housing in the whole of the Netherlands rn, and the smaller towns that have universities like Apeldoorn are the most affected.

I believe you can reschedule your flight, join the introduction and classes online until December when they have something for you. But if you can afford a hotel of around €55 per night, that's also an option but you'd be staying there for a month++ until the end of December they said. I assume you've already ruled out the hotel option before looking for assistance here, but honestly I don't really think any student has any space to spare especially in tiny Apeldoorn or anywhere in the Netherlands (or even western Europe as a whole, it's nothing like the spacious Australia out here)

But if you're able to meet someone that works full-time and willing to help you here on nairaland (which is very unlikely) that might work. they stay in bigger apartments cos they can afford about €1700 rent a month.

Otherwise just join their online classes and reschedule for December.

Tnkx alot for ur reply,am traveling to Trinidad and Tobago via klm airline,someone adviced I apply through France embassy and I already booked an appointment for that,pls feel free to suggest anything else if u know

Yea only France and Belgium embassies issue regular schengen visas. Other visa categories are issued by the particular schengen country the applicant is traveling to.

It's always easier if you're not traveling on a tourist visa to the actual destination, they don't easily believe that a regular Nigerian would wake up and decide to go on a legit vacation (and of all places, so far away to the Caribbeans) So they'd naturally need more convincing if it's a tourist visa you got for TT. I think they would require travel/medical insurance too

But don't worry much if it's a tourist visa you have, there are of course other ways to get to your destination even if they refuse you a transit visa, although TT is kinda a tough one that would require a lot of workarounds, but you can definitely get there without passing through EU, UK or US so far you have a valid visa (yea workarounds may cost you more since we're talking about TT here, other popular Caribbean locations are easier, and also most Spanish-speaking Caribbeans/Central Americas are easier too cos you can easily transit from South America. So for now you hope your schengen transit goes successfully)

Btw if it's a study visa or some other type of long stay visa you have for TT, I believe they would easily grant you the schengen transit without much hassles.

Pls guys I would like to apply for a netherland transit Visa,where is there embassy located in. Nigeria

Dutch embassy in Nigeria do not issue any sort of visas, it's even clearly stated on their website. They're mainly there for other consular services that Dutch citizens in Nigeria might require. If you require a schengen transit visa you only can apply through the French and Belgian embassies as a Nigerian resident. And if I recall correctly, each of those embassies accept schengen visa applications depending on your state of residence (Belgium embassy deals mostly with the northern states) but I don't know if this is still the case as of today.

But why go through the hassle of applying a schengen transit visa, there probably should be alternatives. My guess is you're trying to use KLM airlines and then board the connecting flight to your destination at Amsterdam Airport. Well, the requirements would be outrageous and have you wondering if you're actually transiting through an airport or have mistakenly applied for a permanent stay in the schengen area.

Which destination are you headed? I might be able to offer a better alternative than dealing with the paperwork and interviews that await you.

If you're looking for a simple answer, of course go for the number 1 country with the biggest economy in the world and got the whole world revolving around them and their currency - United States of America

But then the right answer would be you asking yourself and answering several questions. For example how do you plan to get to the US? Is it even possible as of today for the "layman" to just go get residency in the US. The easiest way rn to get residency in the US (if you don't have 1 million dollars to qualify for the investor visa) is through immediate family members who are either citizens or permanent residents. And even being a family member to this US person has various categories, for example, visa applications for spouses, children and parents of the US person are processed under 3 months. But for siblings of a US person, that could as long as 10 years.

Immigrating to the US via the student visa route? Well, you join the long queue. Admission letters and even sufficient funds don't guarantee any visa approval. They deny you so fast you would wonder if you offended them for being a Nigerian. These guys are trying their possible best to reduce the number of Nigerian immigrants and therefore you've got a huge task of trying to convince your interviewer why they should allow you into their country. And each fiscal year, the state department gives the embassy sort of a quota on how many applications to approve or reject. That's why you see news like up to a 92% rejection rate in 2017

Reverse is the case for UK tho, yea they don't own the world, not so big economy, etc, but since their exit from the EU, they've been gradually going the Australian way using international students to boom the country's economy. So yea they've redesigned policies regarding student visas in such a way to attract more students who can afford to pay for education in the UK. They reckoned the education exportation business is quite a great business, Australia is doing very well when you look at how much the country makes each year from international students. And overall it's a win win situation for them, you pay the cumbersome school fees and contribute to their economy, and thereafter they train you to become a highly skilled migrant who would eventually be useful to the same economy in the future. That way every immigrant is a potential economic asset and not a liability

So do your research and see where you fit in and which of them is happy and more likely to have you immigrate to their country, BUT that's after careful consideration of what you'll be going over there to do by the way

You will go to the bank and request for form A

Please did you recently use them or have first hand knowledge of someone that just did? I learnt most of these banks (even the UBA) have backlogs due to scarcity of FX from cbn. So I'm looking for maybe any bank with lesser pending form A waiting to be processed

Super out-dated and incorrect information that pops up from an effortless Google search. I pity those that'll believe anything on this post. When poster mentioned a South American country I thought maybe he might have at least one correct, yet he mention the wrong country, Peru? Lmao.

Guys for all those countries yea it's possible to earn citizenship in them after years of legal residence but not anywhere close to "easy" as OP referred to them as (excluding Singapore which is like passing an elephant through the eye of a needle, if you like be married with 10 kids no one cares)

None of these countries actually makes it to the top 15 of countries where citizenship are granted "easily"

Lol It's no news that the world regards the Nigerian passports as bunch of green algae parasites in booklet form constantly seeking for new geographical locations to leech on.
The best passports in West Africa are just The Gambian and Benin republic passports that allows you visit some top Asian countries and a whole lot of Caribbeans countries.

If you're just sitting around in Nigeria, and comfortable cos you're making what could be described as "enough money" by Nigerian standards without looking for a better passport that will benefit you and your family, by the time you would realize your mistakes, you'd have already put your own generation into the same mess your own father could have avoided if only he had birthed you in the UK in the 80's when they welcomed all commonwealth countries into their territory visa free, or whatever western country he desired.

Don't limit yourself and your offspring to that green algae parasite of a passport, your children won't forgive you if they grow up to learn that you were in a position to break the chains for them but didn't

You won't even be able to enjoy your supposed wealth and travel the world. While an Australian could just book and be on the next flight to Germany just to see a live UEFA finals, you'd be at the embassy at Lagos begging the gateman to allow you enter so you can narrate to them how you need a visa to go and watch live match in Germany

Can anyone assist/guide me on how to go about filling MVV application form. My visa application has been approved. Check below

Dear ………..,

I am pleased to inform you that the IND has approved your application for a Dutch entry visa (MVV) and residence permit. Your IND reference number (called a v-number) is: ……….. Please use this number in any communication regarding your Dutch residence permit.
You can now apply for your visa to be issued at the Dutch diplomatic post in Accra, Ghana.

Validity Deadlines
1. You must apply for your visa via the above diplomatic post within three months of the date of this e-mail.
2. Your visa will be valid for three months from the date it is issued.
3. You must travel to the Netherlands within three months of having obtained your visa.

I strongly advise you to contact the above Dutch diplomatic post as soon as possible in order to confirm your name is in their system and to schedule an appointment. Please click here for the relevant contact details.

Required documents
Please check with the Dutch diplomatic post above what documents/information you must take with you.

As a minimum, you must take the following:
• your original passport, which must be valid for at least six months from the day you apply for your visa;
• the original completed and signed visa (MVV) application form (available at the Dutch diplomatic post or on its website);
• two recent passport photos that meet the Dutch passport photo requirements;
• your original residence permit card (must be valid for at least four months from the day you apply for your MVV (if your country of residence is different from your nationality and you are required to have a residence permit for your country of residence);
• Your v-number (i.e. your IND reference number);
• A printout of this e-mail.

And dealing with West Africa, you wouldn't be a novice when it comes to navigating through some rigorous regulations nobody is actually strictly enforcing. I've always visited Accra regularly, actually I just returned from Accra (stayed only 2 days) where the bulk of your money would normally go is your flight.

I wouldn't advise to go by road rn as this could be very stressful cos of border closures (you'd cross to Cotonou, enter their cab to Togo border, enter another to Lome, enter cab from Lome to Aflao border, and then have the Okada men sneak you into the country. You don't wanna go through this) you'd still be spending like 20k - 30k plus all the hassle. And another 20k - 30k to return with same stress all within a few days no rest (cos u can't "sneak in" by land and leave by air, immigration will hold u at the airport)

Just book Airpeace ahead (cheapest airline you can get if you book on time FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE) 85,000 naira Lagos to Accra and your return is even cheaper 70,000 naira Accra to Lagos.

Hold 50 US dollars in cash for the rapid test at their Kotoka Int'l Airport. You can either buy dollars from your local aboki or you can do that right inside the international terminal at murtala Muhammed, many forex shops there on the floor and below in the underground too. The airline would request to see this 50 dollars and also your PCR test you did in Nigeria within the last 72 hours (you can choose to pay 35k to some lab and still pay another 50 dollars at Accra airport for another test, or just navigate through the first one as the regular 9ja man would)

When you arrive at Kotoka Airport you use one of their tablets there and submit some health info they ask on their website, then you head to the rapid test section and pay the 50 dollars. So far you don't have covid symptoms, rapid tests mostly come out negative unlike the PCR test that could show positive while you feel very healthy. After some minutes you take your negative result and exit the Airport (make sure to have your yellow card with you on this journey so they don't see reasons to fine you at the airport)

You can lodge in Osu since the embassy you're seeking is nearby and the other guy also told you to take photos somewhere in Osu too. Osu is calm and one of the best neighborhoods you can find in Accra with a lot of Brits and Europeans. I had this low key hotel there that I normally lodge at 120ghc with a/c (around 10-11k). The cheapest you can find for a/c rooms. I can also direct you to many other non a/c hotels of around 60ghc which I think is the lowest you can find for ceiling fans if you're on a low budget. Cheaper hotels aren't always listed on booking websites.

Safe trip bro

Yes boss , your money would be transferred to you once your account is ready................i would be leaving netherlands too this july to germany

If I understand you correctly, you mean the school would hold the 20k in their account and then when the student has arrived Netherlands and opened a Dutch account, they would deduct their tuition fees and transfer the rest to the students bank account?

Was given admission too but was giving 2 week to pay fee of €20,000. This on loud sha....smile

Bro is the 20k for tuition only and then you'd still have to prove a separate balance that shows you're financially stable to live in the Netherlands?

Or the 20k to the university covers every financial requirement to get you the visa and then they'd deduct their tuition fees from it?

How many times have they "technically" defeated boko haram?

How many times have they killed Shekau?

Since the emergence of boko haram, recalling how the same stupid army go the extent of not honoring and acknowledging their fallen heroes just for the selfish purpose to downplay the casualties on their side, making those heroes seem like ordinary fowls that died like nobodies. To the extent that it was international war journalists that became the authentic news sources with accurate figures of the deceased and even Shekau himself had to start making videos while in action to inform us with evidence how incompetent and dubious our security agencies are, and how the few that always survived would run for their lives. The same NA will then hide their faces in shame, retract their statements and say shits like "we were only trying to keep our troops morale high"

So it's only a cretin that would still believe whatever statements coming from the cowardice Army headquarters that are quick to deny their own

Politics / Re: Jack Dorsey Tweets Nigerian Flag (Photo) by purest21(m): 3:31am On Jun 12, 2021
Well Jack got instructions from Washington DC to make it easy for the Nigerian government to reverse it's ban on Twitter without putting themselves in a position where they'd be an international laughing stock. Yea the pressure is too much on the government, they can't afford to lose these top countries as allies and on the other hand they've got some pride to protect, so it's also very important to pretend they didn't yield to these pressures from their western bosses

So you can see the Twitter + Whitehouse game. Twitter casually reaches out to FG with nothing tangible to discuss actually. Just to give FG some cover to hide the shame while the ban is reversed. Then later FG can lie about an agreement that was signed, new regulations, blah blah blah. Americans will always be 100 steps ahead

Paying school fees or not does not change what Category you fall.

You have a better chance if you have a scholarship.

15k Euro in two years is approximately N14million

That money go enter US, Canada and other places sef.

Thank am oooh

Thanks bro I get it clearly now. So just a scholarship can clear the pathway even when you're ready to pay for a private institution. Well, regarding the other 2 North American countries you mentioned, you think 14 million means anything to them. Bro US and CA don't care about your money if you like pay 100 million for school fees, the scrutiny you'll go through ehn. And those countries are more interested in how your bank statement was built up from past 12 months than your actual ability to pay the fees, any single misrepresentation/error you're denied! Even when you're trying to prove to them you trade in cryptocurrencies and as such can't possibly have such huge amounts lying around idle in the bank just to impress them while you make zero profits the whole period. Australia of cos focuses on your ability to pay and I also like Germany cos of the option to open the block account while they have no business with account history. Favors us in the crypto line with no regular bank account balances.

And bro 15k euros per year can't get you no masters in Canada. Never! Canada one of the countries with most expensive education for international students. You should be looking at 45k per year at Canada. And believe me these guys don't care about your money in order to make the visa process easy for you, like Australia does. Australia needs the money and chances are super high you'll get your visa easily once you can afford the fees, while it's no longer a secret rn how those admitted into masters at their universities (35k AUD and above) are granted visa easier than those admitted into TAFE Colleges (15k AUD) who mostly go through the rigorous visa processes masters students that pay higher rarely experience. This goes to show you what their priority actually is (The big bags)

I would have chosen Australia but that border closure got no hope in 2022, maybe 2023. Rn I'm looking for somewhere in the western hemisphere that wouldn't stress one out and actually be happy you're coming to patronize them. I've been through enough already. If like you mentioned that Germany visa process doesn't care if you're coming to pay to or not and may even deny me, I think I should move on with the search for other western countries that greater part of their economy depends on international students and likes to profit off of them. Aussie fits into everything I need rn just that they wanna collect the money and force me into online lectures.

I'm seeing too many comments about using other countries as route for the German student visa, that "9ja don cast". I would like to understand if it solves much when the school is not free tuition, actually a private school where I'll be paying 15k euros per year for the masters program.

Does this help much to obtain the German student visa just as the Australians are interested in your school fees too and issue you visa easily once you're able to pay, or would it still be same rough path even when I'm 100% purchasing the education myself?
