Don williams is too authentic and I also listen to him too much
Kenny Rogers is also good, I have heard many of his works but the gentle giant is still number 1 for me.
John Anderson swingin' is also one of those good evergreen songs in the world of country music.

OF TRUTH, IT PAYS TO TALK LESS BUT COMMUNICATE MORE, IT HELPS YOU A LONG WAY.

TALK LESS, COMMUNICATE MORE

BY Oluwamayowa Lala

The topic can be well understood if not trivialised with a grammar-fussy mind, so let me warn that we are on a strategic level of communication. With a great care, we’ll put away some foundational basics so as to focus on the key substances in this discourse. As I hold in the true spirit of a discourse as this, the semantic analysis is just the surface while the in-depth understanding of terms with conceptual links running through the matter is the core. The subject is a tender and noteworthy one for uninitiated and initiated persons who lurk after results, nay, for those who wish to leave the lower realm to higher realm. I have aggregated points from previous discourses, for easy and quick digestion, to unravel the myriad of life lessons that can help us increase productiveness in communications. Of truth, it’s been discovered that one can move from the realm of talking to the realm of communication or to say the least, authentic talk, one can graduate from the territory of the fake to the authentic, if the correct concepts are properly discussed, understood and practiced.

OF TALKS
What we know commonly and logically as ‘talk’ is that act in which someone speak out something, or even anything, be it garbage. In most cases, the mouth is the culpable object that suffer reproach but be in the know that ‘talk’ as we move on in this issue doesn’t preclude other verbal means of communication, text-chatting can also be grouped with the ‘talks’ we are dealing with here. From attention, I learned that talks, if used every time, do not achieve anything tangible, My radar locate noise and pollution every time long winded talkers appear on the stage of life, be you whatever you call yourself, the overuse of talk is noxious to the natural space. Talks, most times, come from the skull, or should it not sometimes bemuse us why people say things without following it through, talks may have no tangible root, it’s like a piece of debris that flies around, being carried by the undulating wind of jobless folks, it can be a waste, it might be dumped by some persons. So we shouldn’t be vultures patronising carcasses of life matters. We should focus on the tangibles, the real substance. Following talks, most times, has many mesmerising and deceptive effects, it can be misleading for our decisions and judgments. A man who wants the correct view of matters should transmogrify self into the realm of authentic information or correct communication for facts, good actions and positive results.
Long winded talkers waste time for themselves, for those who listen, when you have something to say, get to the point.- Bill Jones

OF COMMUNICATION
Communication is the exchange of ideas in the mood of mutualism- someone said.
Simple science teaches that communication doesn’t happen at chance or randomly or anyhow, for it is a more developed concept than mere talk. Communication must have a reason, a purpose, a sender, a receiver, a channel and a feedback. These elements mentioned, of certainty, must be present before communication is said to take place. Communication is deeper than mere talks because communication achieves something, it brings certain result or feedback, unlike idle talks, communication has roots. Focus more on communication and less on talks. Communication doesn’t approve of a situation whereby you are talking and the other party is not listening, that’s unacceptable, taking the ‘mutualism’ mentioned in the above definition into sight, mutualism as an ingredient of communication commands that both parties must be actively engaged in the communication process and not the other way round.
Never hold anybody by the button or the hand, in order to be heard out; for, if people are not willing to hear you, you had much better hold your tongue than them. - Philip Stanhope, 4th Earl of Chesterfield (1748)
Result oriented people focus more on communication and not needless talks. Another interesting thing when you focus on communication is that communication can ensue through many channels, especially if you want to be outstandingly suave and effective: verbal, non-verbal, use of signals, sending of symbolic items, well worded letters, are just to mention but a few, among other ways to communicate. Men of substance know how to communicate without always talking, they can leverage or maximize signals or gestures, solid actions and sometimes talking into an effective communication.
My short and occassional charges as this, which I send you, as I have always done, will I conclude, as I am hoping that we will further in our private spaces think on ways to talk less and communicate more.

PoliticsEkiti Guber Race: Revd. Tunde Afe Emerges As ANRP Candidate by Purposeciti(op): 1:36pm On May 15, 2018
The founder of House of Faith Christian Centre, Ado Ekiti, Tunde Afe, has joined the governorship race in Ekiti State.

Afe, who is the General Overseer of the church said he joined the race beause of his desire to make a difference in the lives of the people.

He promised to field a Muslim deputy governorship candidate to send a signal that Nigerians were one in spirit.

Unveiling his ambition at the church’s premises, the cleric stated that he would neither run on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party nor that of the All Progressives Congress as the two parties had greatly disappointed Nigerians.

He said, “I didn’t receive any special direction before taking this step, because every Nigerian knew that the country is in dire need of good leadership and as a man of God who believes that things must be done properly, I have no reason to sit back while things degenerate.

“Look at what is happening in Nigeria today, I mean killings everywhere and the best way to address this is by using Ekiti as a launch pad for good governance in Nigeria.

“My church has been into role modeling for the youths and also organising leadership trainings for them to be good leaders in future. We are tapping into all these to make Ekiti great.

“All those that had ruled Ekiti did their best, but I think I can do better because I won’t take whatever that doesn’t belong to me as a benefit in government because I fear God.

“Let me say this, if all the governors and those occupying leadership positions take what are legitimate due to them alone as benefits, Nigeria will be far better than this and that is exactly what I am going to use my aspiration to teach.”

On his decision to choose a muslim running mate, Afe added, “Since both Muslims and Christians are Nigerians with legitimate rights, nothing stops me from picking my deputy among the Muslims.

“The issues affecting Nigerians today knew no religion. It knows no ethnic group, so what we need that we should those who have the fear of God to take charge and Nigeria will be better for it.”

CareerRe: 7 Reasons Why You Are Broke by Purposeciti(op): 12:15pm On May 14, 2018
Reason 4: You don’t have a saving plan
This is simple if you can’t discipline yourself to save a good percentage of your earning, All you need to do is to go and strike a deal with your bank so that they can help extract certain amount from your earnings month for savings. Other options are cooperative societies or investing/buying income producing assets.
Reason 5: You don’t plan your spending
You need to start listing needed items on your buy list before you go out there to make the purchases, it can be very tempting to go out there and stand your ground if you don’t plan your spendings. To be on the safe side and to maintain focus and accuracy, you need to start planning your spending.

Reason 6: You have not mastered your society
There are various dynamics to be learned in your society if you are not going to waste your money or fall into the hands of scammers, you need to have a good mastery of your society system: the people, places, prices and products. You need to have a good knowledge of where to get cheap things, you need to take time to stroll around to do some serious survey and interview trusted acquaintances. Knowing the aforementioned things helps you to buy things easily and cheaply while staying clear of frauds and unnecessary expenses.
CareerRe: 7 Reasons Why You Are Broke by Purposeciti(op): 12:14pm On May 14, 2018
Reason 2: You are surrounded with too many dependants

The bad scenario I am pointing out here is not about your family but your dependant friends, maybe I should remind you that humans are so deceptive that they surround you when you have money and they flee when you are broke.
Being responsible for one’s family upkeep is cool and largely rewarding but to stay afloat, one need to budget wisely for one’s family in such a way that you don’t break your saving plan.
But for your relatives, you need to remember that you are not GOD. Even you are a billionaire, you need to plan your the charity in such a way that they don’t injure your finance.

Reason 3: You are living above your earnings

You need to adjust your lifestyle to your earnings. Let me hammer it again that those people you are impressing will be first ones to crucify you when you go down. Life craze ooo.

7 REASONS WHY PEOPLE GO BROKE
BY Oluwamayowa Lala

Frankly speaking, I must mention, as a caveat to start with, that the pieces of advice offered in this article can only work well if you have a means of livelihood. We know of certainty, that anyone without any substantial means of livelihood will naturally go broke. In this article, I don’t think I have any formula to help an unemployed person to escape being broke. But again, the points mentioned here are noteworthy and important to help anyone manage their finances like a money expert.
Before we finally set out to my gathered points on reasons that make people broke, I think we should settle two facts.
Fact 1: Being broke has nothing to do with how much you earn, you are the one to adjust your lifestyle to your earning. No matter how much yu earn, you can still be broke if you don’t reconfigure your settings.
Fact 2: Without proper planning and serious discipline, being broke is almost inevitable. And the scary part of it is that when you are broke, you will be disrespected and treated like a sideshow. In fact, left to me, I see the word broke as an euphemism for poverty. It depresses, contorts, conceals and damages your person and personal values.

Reason 1: You are too nice
You don’t know how tell people NO when they come with their spontaneous requests, all you want to do is please everyone yet you are forgetting the fact that when you go down! These people you are seeking to please will be the first ones to mock you.
BusinessRe: 31 Ways To Promote Your Facebook Page by Purposeciti(op): 5:08pm On May 11, 2018
21 – Run a contest.
Run a contest on Facebook, your website, your blog, or your Twitter profile where the person who sends the most fans to your page wins a big prize.

22. Connect your Facebook page to your Twitter profile.
If you do that, your Facebook status updates will be tweeted. This update can have a link back to your Facebook page. Involver.com has a free and easy app for linking Facebook pages to Twitter.

23. Encourage your contacts to ask questions on your Facebook wall.
Via your website, blog, ezine, tweets, etc., you can invite your tribe to ask you questions via your Facebook wall. Sooner or later, as they ask questions, they will like your page.

24. Put your Facebook page URL on other social media pages.
You can add your Facebook page URL to your Google+ profile, LinkedIn profile, Pinterest page, etc.

25. Feature your Facebook page in offline ads.
If your Facebook page is important in your marketing strategy, then place the Facebook page URL on sales posters, in brochures, in your print ads, on your sales letters, on your menus, on receipts, in your white papers, etc.

26. Rely on word of mouth and word of mouse.
One of the best ways to build your Facebook likes is simply to deliver great content consistently. Your fans will send you more fans. Friends telling friends is always the best way to build a list (email subscribers, Twitter followers, blog subscribers, Facebook likes).

27. Invite your ezine subscribers.
If you have opt-in email lists or an email newsletter, make sure to invite your readers and subscribers to Like your page. Give them reasons to visit and participate.

28. Get Fans to join via mobile SMS.
People can join your Fan Page via text message simply by sending a text message to 32664 (Fbook) with the words: fan thejohnkremer (your username) or like thejohnkremer.

Note: The mobile phone user must have connected his mobile phone to Facebook previously in order for this to work. This feature is incredibly useful when you are speaking or appearing on radio or TV. Just ask listeners to pull out their cellphone now and text the message.

29. Comment on other people’s Facebook posts.
You can comment on other Facebook fan page posts – or the posts of your friends. This can be just as useful as blog commenting.

30. Do a blog tour promoting your Facebook page.
An event blog tour can promote a Facebook page, although a major blog tour should probably be used to develop a list or sell something rather than just drive people to your Facebook page.

31 – Invite your friends.
Justin featured this as a last resort. As he noted, Pester your friends only as the nuclear option. Give your friends a break.
BusinessRe: 31 Ways To Promote Your Facebook Page by Purposeciti(op): 5:03pm On May 11, 2018
9 – Put your Facebook page URL on your business cards.
Don’t just promote your Facebook page online. Also share it offline – on your business cards, posters, letterhead, envelopes, etc.

10 – Put a link on your personal Facebook profile.
You can put a link to your Facebook pages under Contact Information, Websites, like this:

Facebook website listings

You could also feature a link in the About You section of the Basic Information of your personal profile.
Finally, you can also feature your pages on the sidebar of your personal profile. This is actually the best place because it shows up directly on your personal profile page even if visitors don’t check out your Info page.

Facebook personal

11 – Get your team involved.
Encourage everyone you work with, people you partner with, and other associates to put Facebook page link on their personal profile. While your friends or associates might not be willing to do this, your employees should definitely be encourage to do this – if only to showcase where they work.

12 – Ask your fans to post a link.
People like to be asked. And many like to help your out, especially if they really do like you or your work. And, if they are already your fans, it’s a simple step to share their fandom.

At Monk Development, they asked their fans to post a link to their company Facebook page on the same day. As a result of this one simple step, they doubled their average daily likes.

13 – Tag your YouTube videos.
If you produce YouTube videos, insert a Facebook page link at the end of the video – along with your website URL. The Gregory Brothers of Auto-Tune the News, with over 1 million YouTube subscribers, feature their Facebook page URL at the end of many of their popular videos.

Facebook YouTube links

Note that the above video has had over 10 million views in one year.

Besides including their Facebook page URL inside their videos, the Gregory Brothers also feature the URL in the descriptions to their videos.

Facebook YouTube links

Interestingly, they haven’t updated their vanity URL on their YouTube channel. They have the original URL before they vanitized it. Anyway, make sure you include your Facebook page URL on your channel page as well.

14 – Put your Facebook page URL on your Twitter profile background.
While your Twitter profile background only shows up when web-based Tweeters access your Twitter profile, it’s still a great place to promote your Facebook page.

Facebook in your Twitter background

Of course, your can also put your Facebook page link directly into your profile description. That way people can find you even if they access Twitter via their smart phone or Twitter app.

Facebook Twitter profile connection

15 – Create a QR code for your Facebook page.
Facebook QR code

For more about QR codes, see http://bookmarketingbestsellers.com/qr-code-featured-in-a-book-tour and related pages on this website (check the online tab above).

16 – Tell your fans.
Facebook provides a Tell Your Fans feature that allows you to import a contact file or to import your contacts from Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. It’s a great way to get the word out to your current tribe.

Facebook Tell Your Friends

17 – Add a Facebook Like box.
Place this in your blog/website sidebar. This is a given. A must. But when you do this, make sure you set the options to include face pile. That way, your Like box will show your readers how many of their friends like the page as well.

Facebook Like Box

18 – Use targeted keywords in a Google AdWords ad.
Google AdWords can be expensive, but it’s completely testable. You can test costs. You can control your budget. You can test the wording of the ad – what keywords generate more likes. You can test the effectiveness of the ad.

You can also use Bing ads, StumbleUpon ads, Blogads, and more to promote your Facebook page as well.

19 – Redirect webinar guests to your Facebook page.
If you produce and promote webinars, you can send registrants to any URL you want after they sign up. One place you could send them is to your Facebook page. You can do the same with videos, podcasts, ezine signups, teleseminars, etc.

20 – Feature your Facebook page in your presentation slides.
When you speak and do other presentations, be sure to include your contact information in the last slide: phone, email, address, website, Facebook page, Twitter profile, Pinterest page. In fact, you can include your website or Facebook page URL as a running footer on all your slides.
Business31 Ways To Promote Your Facebook Page by Purposeciti(op): 4:59pm On May 11, 2018
If you want your Facebook fan page to be effective and stand out, you have to get people to find and like your page. Here are a few ways to do that (inspired by a recent post by Justin Wise on Social Media Examiner).

A prominent Facebook page can be crucial to your book marketing and book promotion campaigns.

Here are 31 ways to promote your Facebook pages.

1 – Put your Facebook page URL in your email signature.
Now this is pretty obvious. You already put your website or blog in your email signature. Now add your Twitter profile and Facebook page (one or all of them, if you have more than one Facebook page).

Facebook page in your signature

2 – Write a blog post about your new Facebook page.
Give people reasons to like your Facebook page. Make a list of 5 to 7 reasons on how they will benefit by liking your page.

3 – Tag other people’s high-traffic Facebook pages in your updates.
Hitch your wagon to a star. Refer to, tag, and link to other Facebook pages, especially those with tons of fans or those targeted to your interests or Facebook page focus. Their fans will often come back to check out your page.

Facebook Tags
4 – Ask your Twitter followers to like your Facebook page.
Don’t just ask them to like your Facebook page. Ask them to join in the conversation. Give them reasons to get involved. I liked Justin’s suggestion here: “Wanting more conversation than 140 characters will allow? Join in…”

Tweet your Facebook page

5 – Invest in Facebook ads.
A great Facebook ad can get you tons of likes. Then you just have to retain those likes by giving them great content and interaction. Facebook ads are easy to set up – and you can control the cost. So you can test ads until you find one that produces the results you want.

6 – Put a Facebook social plugin on your blog or website.
A Facebook social plugin is a great way to introduce your website visitors to your Facebook page. When your website visitors see the activity on your Facebook page, they’re far more likely to want to join in.

Facebook Social Plugin

7 – Implement Facebook comments on your website or blog.
Here, for example, are a few comments showcased directly on the home page of my BookMarket.com website. Note how both other book authors and I as well can write comments on my home page. e.g Facebook comments widget

You can implement Facebook comments on as many of your website pages as you like. For blogs, you can implement them on all your posts and pages. Facebook comments make your static web pages far more social. That’s a good thing.

8 – Customize your Facebook page URL.
Today I was surprised to find a Facebook page with more than 45,000 fans – and yet no vanity URL. Vanity URLs make your Facebook page much easier to remember – both for you and your potential fans. You can set up a vanity username by going to http://www.facebook.com/username (after you get 25 likes for your Facebook page).

SCAM ALERT: In Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps

OLUWAMAYOWA LALA(C)

On Wednesday, November 23, 2016 Gov. Ambode of Lagos state launched a job scheme - LNSC (Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps) as planned. This scheme was designed to absorb about 5700 people into Lagos State payroll. Logically, the governor designated DIG Israel Ajao (Rtd.) to head the scheme, and to that extent, successful applicants were made to fall within four batches (A, B, C and D) as a means, I think, to manageably coordinate them to go for the training before operations begin. As expected, overwhelming grade of applause and commendations must have followed this feat done by Mr. Ambode, Thanks to God, Ambode is working.
But on the contrary, information reaching us is that our ‘great’ Lagos state government (which is believed to be a fiscal model for other Nigerian states) is yet to pay a dime to those in batches C and D, who have kept on working, for the past 8 months. And naturally, series of complaints were lodged by this body of citizens, it’s sad that no positive response was yielded save loads of empty promises. Barr. S.O. Azeez out of concern, on behalf of these affected people, decided to address an appeal letter to Mr. Ajao, the man whom I earlier stated as the person in charge of the scheme, in order to bring to his notice this grim situation, but yet nothing was done. The said letter, for ease of reference, is hereunder reproduced fully and it states:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________
We the Batch C and D Corps of the Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps greet you Sir the Chief Servant of this magnificent State. It is with hearts filled with admiration and gratitude for your steadfast commitment to the vision of redefining the Lagos Dream, that we co-servants approach you this memorable day. It is no longer news nor fairytale that indeed Lagos State is led by a leader with an understanding of what governance and government entails, and it is on this premise that we bring our plight to your notice. We were recruited and trained from April the 29th to May the 8th of 2017, and were deployed immediately to our respective Local Government Areas to resume work, but sadly have not been mobilized nor paid our salaries till date.
We have been working tirelessly round the clock with great enthusiasm and dedication ever since we were commissioned during batch A training and deployed to our duty posts, and we still carry out our job as at this moment even though we have not been paid. Your Excellency, we also wish to let you know that we have done all that was officially required of us to do in record time and these include data profiling and documentation, measurements and Bank Account activation. We are yet to get our official uniforms, kits and gadgets till date and have been working on mufti. We have been pacified by our officers and officials over the months and they have incessantly promised that we would be paid fully and kitted too but all that seem to be more of empty promises.
Sir, we prevail on you to use your good office to look into our plight and to mandate that the delegated Authority should pay us our dues immediately and give us our kits as soon as possible so as to restore our depleted confidence in the sincerity of purpose of this laudable government which you personify
Thank you, your Excellency.
CC: DIG (RTD) Israel Ajao, Chairman
To the whole world, it seems as if the LNSC scheme is running perfectly, probably because of the sweet talks on media. Well, for me, these questions naturally arise as to whether:
1. DIG Israel Ajao (Rtd.) to whom the appeal letter was addressed is aware but hasn’t brought it to the awareness of Governor Ambode or,
2. Governor Ambode is already aware of this callous act but he’s doing nothing.
So to this extent, as I think, a public engagement such as this is in order, maybe it’s time to bring everything to the public space so that everyone including the governor himself, if he hasn’t gotten any wind of it, can see the unattractive situation that these people have been subjected to under Lagos state Government.
Every time an intellectual has the chance to speak out against injustices, and yet remains silent, he contributes to the moral paralysis and intellectual barrenness that grips the affluent world. – Frida Laski
Of greater concern to me is the fact that batches A and B are consistently being paid uninterruptedly since the start of operations, while the other duo are left unpaid throughout 8 months under the same scheme! Something smells fishy here. How can we claim to have egalitarian institutions in Lagos state, with this? How anyone seeks to shield himself from the consequences of such barbaric action still eludes me, this is an expressive show of mischief that the whole world should see.

cos they will soon come.
They ( Moneybags et cetera) can't beat the apparatuses in place to checkmate their corruptive tendencies and instincts, our system will frustrate people joining with ominous intentions.
We operate with transparency, hi-tech, cerebration.
