Honestly someone got to shut him up, if democracy is not working or nothing good is working in Nigeria, then I challenge him to relocate to Niger, Mali or Burkina Faso and then gather the press and run down those countries like he usually do in Nigeria. Then let's see if he will come back to Nigeria on his two legs or half a leg. |

Politics › Segun Sowunmi Reacts To Peter Obi’s Claims "There Is Nothing Good About Nigeria" by Putindbutt(op): 6:20pm On Jun 13, 2025 |
Nigeria’s Democracy Day celebrations took a contentious turn today as political commentator and former PDP governorship aspirant Segun Showunmi launched a scathing attack on Labour Party leader Peter Obi via a post on X. The post, timestamped 18:25 UTC, criticized Obi’s recent remarks questioning the state of Nigerian democracy, igniting a firestorm of reactions on social media.
Showunmi’s tweet reacting to Peter Obi’s quote posted by X user Ayekooto (@DeeOneAyekooto) stating, “There’s nothing good about Nigeria’s democracy,” accused Obi of undermining the nation’s democratic progress. He wrote,
“Someone collects ideas from madmen normal for your eyes. My friend @PeterObi will you keep quiet, if it were military you would have either left the country or been silenced with your rubbish talk about the country.
Do you have any idea what democracy costs? RIP Heroes.” The post is said to reference the historical context of military rule, which suppressed dissent, notably during the annulment of the 1993 election won by Moshood Abiola, now commemorated on June 12.

naptu2: You need to post 40 characters, that is, 40 letters and spaces, before it will accept your post.
However, those letters and spaces must not be in the quotes
It only counts letters and spaces that are not in the quotes, so you need to put 40 more characters outside the quotes before it will accept your post.
I suggested that you should use the url to make the extra 40 characters. Yeah I got it, found a way around it. Thanks. |

Galileoteck: A whole governor's aid is petty and idle like this? Is that a Nigerian flag?. Was Obi not a former Governor?, Was that flag the type of Nigerian symbol that appeared on the background whenever he addressed the public?. Doesn't he know the authentic Nigerian flag?. Why does he always making blunders in the name of seeking attention? |

Politics › Jubril Gawat Exposes Peter Obi’s Flag 'Blunder' During Democracy Day Address by Putindbutt(op): 3:43pm On Jun 13, 2025 |
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi recently said that Nigeria can no longer be called a democratic country. In a pointed critique of Nigeria's democratic state, Peter Obi declared that the nation no longer merits the label of a democratic country. His remarks, delivered during a Democracy Day address, have sparked a flurry of responses, including a notable correction from Jubril Gawat, a senior aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. However, the focus shifted slightly when Gawat took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to address a visual element If Peter Obi's presentation. “Just small correction for learning purposes: That’s not the Nigerian flag, the flag is GREEN, WHITE, GREEN. No other design or logo or even a single dot should fall into it. Do better for the next E-Broadcast,” Gawat posted, drawing attention to an apparent error in the flag displayed during Obi's address. https://x.com/Mr_JAGs/status/1933436507076887000?t=Ljv-EJW09XUIROulU9fCqw&s=19

naptu2: Original content
It's not counting what you quoted. Add the link/url address of the source and that should make it 40 characters. In other words, post 40 characters outside the quotation. On this very thread, there's no source, no link/url, yet I was able to create and submit it. So why is the earlier one that failed different from this one? |

You commended the President yet you say it's too late, very laughable. These are the same people that have been asking past Presidents to honour this man, a president did that in two years of his administration and you're saying it's too late. Then why have you been asking that he should be honoured if it was already too late?. |

Politics › Ohanaeze Lauds Tinubu For Honouring Nwosu, Wants INEC HQ Named After Him by Putindbutt(op): 7:49am On Jun 13, 2025 |
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has lauded President Bola Tinubu for recognising and honouring Prof. Humphrey Nwosu, requesting him to name the Independent National Electoral Commission Headquarters after him.
The National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Dr Ezechi Chukwu, stated this while reacting to Tinubu’s June 12 speech and conferment of posthumous honours to late Nwosu.
Nwosu conducted the June 12, 1993, election, which was adjudged the freest and fairest election till date.
Tinubu on Thursday conferred the Commander of the Order of the Niger award on Nwosu. Chukwu described the gesture as a welcome development, saying the Federal Government had done the needful by honouring Nwosu, who he said made a generational sacrifice with real courage by upholding the mandate of Abiola.
“The idea of honouring him is welcomed, though it is late, but at least we appreciate the fact that he has been honoured”.
Chukwu, however, appealed to the Federal Government to further take a fundamental step by naming the INEC Headquarters after Nwosu.
“It is also our desire that INEC Headquarters should be named after Prof Humphrey Nwosu for the virtue of his role in Nigeria’s democracy during the military,” he said.
On the economy, the national publicity secretary observed that the Nigerian economy still needed reforms as economic hardship continued to affect all sectors.
According to him, inflation and exchange rates are still very high while the cost of living is at its peak.
“The reforms which the Federal Government has embarked on are yet to have a human face in the lives of Nigerians.
“Ohanaeze is of the view that the Nigeria economic policy must be extensively revisited to address these challenges.
“There is need for the Federal Government to take concrete steps towards reinventing the economy in order to alleviate the hardship and poverty facing citizens across board,” he said.
He added that to get it right, it would be necessary that the President takes steps in restructuring Nigeria, stressing that without restructuring, it would be difficult to fix both the economy and insecurity.
He added, “This is because at state level, governors are not in charge of security as Commissioners of police are answerable to the Inspector General of Police.
“With the restructuring, the centre will be unbundled because we are talking of fiscal federalism, resource control and devolution of power.
“A system where federal system of government is in principle but in practice, it is all about unitary government cannot actually place the nation on the pedestrian of growth.
“This is the solution we are proffering. If the country is restructured, there will be healthy competition among various federating units as various states and regions can have the opportunity to maximise their wealth and add values to their economy" https://punchng.com/ohanaeze-lauds-tinubu-for-honouring-nwosu-wants-inec-hq-named-after-him/

And this one called himself an Editor and he doesn't understand how power works. He thinks it's only about vocabulary. A panel was set up by the military government to investigate them and were found guilty. That in itself had given legitimacy to their death sentence. Whether rightly or wrongly they were sentenced is a different kettle of fish. And it would only take a presidential pardon to restore their freedom. That's why Ogoni people had been asking and agitating for their pardon for a very long time. It's more of an issue of the law and not morality. |
