We said the tax reforms is about eliminating multiple taxes and providing ease to low income earners in both formal and informal sectors but wailers who lack basic understanding of the laws were spreading all kinds of lies and propaganda against the law, they were regurgitating lies from some certain social media influencers who were paid by opposition to campaign against the law.
Moreover, the appointment of Oyedele as minister makes perfect sense, I believe he will be in charge of enforcing compliance at the micro level. |

I was expecting her to deny she was in charge of disbursement but she never did. Meaning that she failed in her responsibility. We have oftentimes complain that minister of state are like a spare tyre , however, under the ministry of finance, the junior minister holds a key portfolio of cash disbursement to MDAs which is a big credit to the Minister of finance. Unfortunately she failed, majority of MDAs complained of little to zero disbursement which explains why the fiscal policies are lagging behind.
The President is magnanimous by redeploying her to budget and planning which is also another crucial ministry in the economy. Otherwise she should have been fired outrightly. |

But his actions against iran has further made Iranians sympathetic to their leadership.

Tenses: The journalist was wrong. It's not the duty of the governor to provide such data he's asking for. Besides no government will score itself low if they are to present such data as we often see with this tinubu government.
The information the journalist is asking for is the duty of independent economists and journalists.
The man is doing the bidding of the opposition and he sound overly stupid asking such question. See 👁️ Pob logic... Do you know what is called accountability?. It is the duty of journalists to report what's on ground, the visible projects that have been done and where none was seen, they probe and ask questions. But to you hypocrites, a Governor that presented a budget should not tell his citizens how he has delivered on it?, he must not tell his citizens how he spent their money so far?. But you clowns will ask questions from the FG and the federal lawmakers what they're doing with "subsidy removal". Politics › Irresponsible And Stupid – Otti Lashes Out At Journalist During Media Chat by Putindbutt(op): 6:57pm On Feb 28 |
Alex Otti, governor of Abia, has rebuked a journalist during his monthly media chat in Umuahia, the state capital, on Friday.
The governor dismissed a question on verifiable data for measurable socio-economic improvements under his administration as irresponsible and poorly prepared.
The tense exchange occurred at the February edition of the governor’s regular engagement with journalists, broadcast live to residents of Abia state and beyond.
Chika Nwabueze, a journalist with the BON media group, asked Otti to provide concrete, quantifiable evidence — beyond visible infrastructure projects such as road rehabilitation to demonstrate how his policies since May 2023 had tangibly enhanced the economic conditions and living standards of residents.
In response, Otti challenged the journalist’s premise, pointing out that as a resident of Abia, he should personally observe and possess such data.
“You have not said anything. Do you live in Abia? So if you live in Umuahia, you are the one that will provide data,” the governor said.
He described the media chat as a “serious” platform not intended to “massage opposition,” adding that open questioning does not permit unprepared or what he termed frivolous inquiries.
“You can’t come to a media chat and ask me to provide data about measurable impact on work that is being done in the state that you live in. It’s irresponsible,” Otti said.
“That we throw this open for people to ask questions doesn’t mean that people should be stupid, so let’s take this very seriously. When you come to my media chat, you must be prepared; if you don’t have a question then you don’t raise your hand.”
The governor pointed to tangible changes residents could “feel”, including improved roads, functional primary healthcare centres, enhanced public transport, and elements of free education, questioning why the journalist could not acknowledge these directly in his own experience. https://www.thecable.ng/irresponsible-and-stupid-otti-lashes-out-at-journalist-over-demand-for-economic-impact-data/

Politics › Kano Anti-graft Agency Recovers Vehicles From Kwankwaso’s Son, Four Others by Putindbutt(op): 6:19pm On Feb 28 |
The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission has said that it tracked and recovered some government-owned vehicles in possession of former government officials, including commissioners who allegedly refused to return the vehicles after relinquishing their positions last month.
Recall that no fewer than five Commissioners resigned their positions following the defection of Governor Abba Yusuf to the ruling All Progressives Congress on Monday, 26th January 2026.
The Chairman of the state Anti-graft agency, Sa’idu Yahaya, confirmed the recovery of the vehicles in a telephone interview with the Punch on Thursday.
He explained that among the former commissioners whose vehicles were retrieved from them were the former Commissioner for Security, Air Vice Marshal Ibrahim Umar, retired; former Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso; former Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata; former Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Adams Aliyu Kibiya; and Nasiru Sani Garo, a former Commissioner for Special Projects.
According to him, the operation was carried out in Kano on Thursday morning, following earlier directives to the former officials ordering them to return the vehicles after their voluntary resignation from the office.
“The Office of the Secretary to the Kano State Government had earlier issued formal letters requesting the immediate return of the official vehicles to the state government.
“However, the affected former government officials did not comply with the directive, which prompted the agency to initiate a recovery process,” he said.
Yahaya, who led the recovery exercise, said the action was in line with the agency’s mandate to protect public property.
“Government assets are not personal property. Once an official leaves office, all government vehicles and assets in their custody must be returned immediately,” he said.
According to him, the commission had exhausted all administrative channels before moving to retrieve the vehicles.
“We gave ample time for voluntary compliance after the Secretary of the State Government’s office wrote to them.
Unfortunately, the directive was ignored. We had no option but to enforce compliance in accordance with the law,” he said.
He explained that the commission’s action was not politically motivated but aimed strictly at ensuring accountability.
“This is not about witch-hunting anyone. It is about protecting the resources of the people of Kano State. We will not tolerate any form of misconduct or unlawful retention of government property.
He added that Public trust depends solely on transparency and accountability, stressing that the commission is determined to strengthen both, and will take appropriate action against anyone found mismanaging or unlawfully holding government property. https://punchng.com/kano-anti-graft-agency-recovers-vehicles-from-kwankwasos-son-four-others/
