Saraki is firmly in the Wike's camp while pretending to be leading the reconciliation committee. He is currently attending Fayose's biryhday party in the company of his leader, Wike who's leader is Tinubu. Do the math.
All the six members of the committee are in Wike's camp?. Gov Fintiri that rejected Wike's suspension is also in Wike's camp?. I just like how your confusion is confusing you, una go dey alright.

Wabara will drag PDP into a deeper hole and when the crisis hits the roof, he will run away from the party. His actions is similar to how Atiku became arrogant and ended up messing things up.
Atiku set up a panel to recommend a VP to him, the panel recommended three names in which Wike was the first on the list. Atiku ignored the panel recommendation and followed his own choice. Atiku later regretted his action, today, he has run away from the party.

PDP set up a reconciliation committee to find a solution to the crisis, the panel recommended a way forward which was earlier confirmed by Saraki but Wabara is flexing muscles dismissing the report. The same arrogance Atiku displayed. Adolphus Wabara will still run away like Atiku when his arrogance destroy the party further.

Tinubu really has a good heart. Congrats to Justice Walter Onnoghen and congrats to the people of Cross Rivers.

All this vote buying won't save you from defeat. The members of your cult movement are resigning and dumping you because you have never for once shown any financial support for their activities, people who are trying to expand support for you, you refused to show them support. The last election in Anambra, you didn't give them anything to mobilize. They have appealed to you several times but all fell on deaf ears but you're going about bringing nurses with 10 million naira each. This time your defeat will be ten times wider.

It shows its a lie, as there is no positive to this your borrowing
Your government should be referred to as omo oni nakukuna, the prodigal child

Their only medication for depression is to insult Lagos, if you take that away from them, the news that will be coming in will not be palatable.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Would Be Better Than London, New York If Nigeria Kept Oil Proceeds – Akon by Putindbutt(op):
Of course, the likes of Shell have been exploiting crude oil in Nigeria before independence, pumped it in vessels and shipped abroad. Only giving tokens to Nigerian Government in form of royalties and taxes. More unfortunately, the Military Governments even empowered them the more as long as they were oiling their deep pockets privately. One of such military government was Abacha under which a certain fraud from Agulu served as a boi boi, he benefitted from the corrupt military government. Today, he is telling his gullible supporters a new Nigeria is possible.
Thankfully, we now have a President who has the love of the country at heart and is now repositioning the fortunes of the country's oil sector. In line with Akon's evaluation, Tinubu has been supporting local investors to take over the oil sector and keep it running. Under Tinubu, three big local oil companies have acquired some offshore assets of some major international oil companies like Shell and ExxonMobil. A local consortium company has also bought some. Tinubu is trying to make sure the oil money is largely retained within the country. The masters stroke is the new policy of allocating oil wells to local refiners like Dangote to directly drill and pump his oil to his refinery. Also important is the policy of buying crude oil in naira rather than dollars.

Senegalese-American singer and songwriter Akon has shared his views on why Lagos State has not emerged as the world’s financial capital.

In an AI-curated video on his Instagram page on Tuesday, the 52-year-old attributed the state’s shortcomings to the Nigerian government.

The record producer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist argued that had Nigeria retained 100 per cent of its oil revenues since gaining independence in 1960, the country could have accumulated trillions of dollars.

In the video, Akon, who rose to international fame in 2004 with the release of “Locked Up” featuring Styles P, stated:

“What if Nigeria had kept 100 per cent of its oil money since 1960 instead of letting Shell and Exxon take it? We’re talking about $2 trillion that could have stayed in African hands.

“Lagos would be the world’s financial capital today, not London or New York. Nigerian universities would lead global innovation, churning out the next generation of tech giants.

"Nollywood wouldn’t just compete with Hollywood but also completely dominate global entertainment. The ripple effects get even crazier. London’s banking district would be empty as every major firm relocates to Abuja.”

Additionally, the “Akonda” crooner suggested that Nigerian passports could have also been more valuable than American ones.

He further noted that Europeans would then cross the Mediterranean for work opportunities in Africa.

“The global power structure would flip completely upside down. Instead of brain drain, Nigeria would attract the world’s brightest minds.

One decision in 1960 could have changed everything. Africa controlling its own resources changes the entire world order,” said Akon.

In the video caption, the singer emphasised that “the possibilities are endless. But it’s never too late.”

PoliticsCritics Unfair To Say Tinubu Is Distant, He’s Very Accessible - Ahmed Lawan by Putindbutt(op): 10:10am On Nov 14, 2025
Ahmed Lawan, former senate president, has dismissed claims that President Bola Tinubu is inaccessible.

Speaking to State House correspondents in Abuja on Thursday after a private meeting with Tinubu, Lawan urged politicians and critics to engage directly with the president rather than complain from afar.

“Of course, the president was very receptive. I feel very honoured. The president welcomed me, and I must say I was really touched,” he said.

“That’s because I’m the only person the president saw today, and probably the only person he will see today.

“That shows how welcome I was to see the president, and I feel so great that I’ve been able to come and see him.

“That is to say that Nigerians are free to see the president. If you want to see Mr President, if you have something to tell him, he is very, very accessible.

“If someone feels otherwise, it’s not me, and I don’t think it’s fair to just stay somewhere and criticise when you have access.

“I don’t think it’s fair to just stay somewhere and criticise when access to the president is available.”

Lawan also called for accountability in capital project execution, respect for the armed forces, and faster coordination between the executive and legislature on the 2026 budget.

He said members of the national assembly are making efforts to ensure the full implementation of constituency and national projects across the country.

“Members of the national assembly are still working hard to ensure that the necessary steps and procedures are taken for constituency projects to be implemented,” he said.

“We are purely nationalistic and patriotic. We want every part of the country to benefit, whether the projects come from constituency allocations or the regular budgetary provisions.”

On the delayed presentation of the 2026 budget, Lawan stressed the need for speed and cooperation between both arms of government.

“Time is of the essence when it comes to the budget for the country,” he said.

“Both the executive and the legislature are working very closely to ensure that the 2026 budget estimates are presented to the national assembly as quickly as possible.”

He added that the legislature would not delay the process once the budget reaches the legislative chamber.

“We will not waste any time. We will ensure proper scrutiny and pass the budget as fast as possible,” he said.

Lawan, who chairs the senate committee on defence, also reaffirmed his respect for the Nigerian military and emphasised the need for accountability in defence spending.

“I know how committed our armed forces are. They deserve our respect and support at all times,” he said.

“This administration is giving a lot of funds to the armed forces and other security agencies. The next step is to ensure we get value for every kobo invested.”

As much as I dislike Wike and his politics he is completely right this time around

But this is a fight he likely won't win, because his boss clearly lacks the balls to support him. Beyond the obvious face-off with the corrupt Nigerian military establishment, the issue is already turning into a north-versus-south conflict and the northerners have never really been comfortable with a man from the Niger Delta running Abuja, so there...

Today's media is all about click baits and screaming headlines, they have thrown research, verification and professionalism out of the window, they have replaced it with social media copy and paste. Many media houses go on social media, copy any information whether true or false, then paste in their newspapers. Some of them have even become an extension of the opposition under the cover of brown envelope journalism, fabricating propaganda against the Government.
PoliticsFull Text Of President Tinubu’s Speech At Editors’ Conference 2025 by Putindbutt(op): 7:17am On Nov 13, 2025
OPENING ADDRESS BY HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU GCFR AT THE NIGERIAN GUILD OF EDITORS’ ANNUAL CONFERENCE STATE HOUSE WEDNESDAY, 12TH NOVEMBER 2025.

PROTOCOL

1. It is my privilege to welcome you to the State House for this year’s Annual Conference of the Nigerian Guild of Editors. Your presence here reflects the enduring importance of the media in shaping national direction and strengthening democratic life. I commend the leadership of the Guild for sustaining this tradition of reflection and professional engagement.

2. The theme you have chosen, “Democratic Governance and National Cohesion: The Role of Editors”, invites us to reflect on the state of our democracy and the ways in which public discourse can either strengthen or weaken the bonds that hold our nation together. This conversation is necessary as we continue to build institutions that are transparent, resilient, and trusted by our citizens.

3. Throughout our history, journalism in Nigeria has been more than a profession. It has been an instrument of national awakening. From the early newspapers that challenged colonial injustice to the principled voices that kept hope alive during the dark days of military dictatorship, the Nigerian press has stood at critical points in our nationhood to defend reason, dignity and progress. Many journalists endured intimidation, detention, and personal hardship in defence of the public good. Their sacrifices are part of the foundation upon which our democracy rests today. We honour them not only in memory but also by remaining committed to the values they upheld.

4. Yet, freedom secured through struggle is not self-sustaining. It requires constant vigilance and responsible exercise. A democracy is sustained not only by elections and laws, but also by the integrity of public conversation. This is where your role becomes central and indispensable.

5. As editors and managers of the national information space, you shape narratives. You influence public understanding. You decide what becomes national focus and how our collective challenges are interpreted. The weight of that responsibility is significant. It must be exercised with wisdom, fairness and a strong sense of national duty.

6. Nigeria is a large and diverse country. Debate and differences are part of our reality. However, disagreement must never translate into the erosion of national cohesion. Criticism, when informed and constructive, is a service to the nation. But cynicism that breeds mistrust and despair can weaken the very foundations of the society we all seek to improve. The national interest must always remain paramount.

7. We live in a time when information travels rapidly and widely. Social media has made every citizen a potential publisher. This has benefits, but it also increases the speed and scale of misinformation. Falsehood can take root before truth has time to speak. In such an environment, the editorial function is more important than ever. Verification must be your anchor; balance must be your principle and professional judgement must be your guide.

8. I urge you, therefore, to continue upholding the highest standards of journalism. Report boldly, but do so truthfully. Critique government policy but do so with knowledge and fairness. Your aim must never be to tear down, but to help build a better society.

9. On our part, this administration remains committed to securing our nation, sustaining economic stability and widening the circle of opportunity for all citizens. The reforms we have undertaken have been challenging, but they are designed to place our economy on a strong and enduring footing. We have taken steps to restore macroeconomic balance, encourage investment and rebuild confidence. The signs of progress are visible in several sectors of the economy. Still, we know there is more work to do, and we remain focused on ensuring that growth translates into real improvements in the daily lives of Nigerians.

10. However, economic reforms and institutional improvements alone cannot build the Nigeria we seek. Nation-building requires cooperation. It requires trust. It requires a shared understanding that our future is tied together. Government has its role. The private sector has its role. Civil society has its role. And the media has a distinct responsibility to help shape a climate of reason and unity.

11. I ask that you continue to exercise that responsibility with seriousness and honour. Let us choose clarity over confusion, responsibility over recklessness, and hope over despair. Let us remember that the stories we tell ourselves as a nation and as a people, influence the country we become.

12. Distinguished Editors, your work matters. The tone you set in your newsrooms, the standards you enforce, and the courage with which you defend the truth will all help shape the direction of our national journey. Let us carry this responsibility with purpose.

13. I wish you constructive, thoughtful and fruitful deliberations, and I look forward to the outcomes of your discussions.

14. Thank you, and God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR
President, Commander-in-Chief of The Armed Forces,
Federal Republic of Nigeria
