Religion, an opium of the masses! |
Mr. tpiander, what's the problem na? Why are you sounding so harsh. Can't you just ignore his post if you know you got a problem with it. He is only contributing to the thread, it has nothing to do with you. This is what is called "taking things personal" tpiander: |
Did you legalise the Uni cert b4 taking it to your school? & the WAEC cert, was it also legalised? Please could som1 just list, on a general note the documents one needs to submit 4 masters application and how & what should be done What I've been seeing on this forum are disjointed information. I have read studyinfinland.fi & the UAF website but just need to be enlightened on how people here did theirs. GeneXY: |
Exactly, Naija internship blocks your chances of getting a training post because they dont consider it equivalent to an Irish internship. If you can find a way to repeat internship in South Africa, Sudan or Malaysia and get your Certificate of Experience (COE), the sky is your starting point in Ireland. Our Naija system is really messed up brother, no 1st world country recognizes any Nigerian postgraduate medical qualification except first degree (Only schools on the WHO directory of course). trendphemmy: |

PLAB 1 is just £155 and not £500 rugged7: |
The exam for registration with the Irish Medical Council is no more TRAS but now called PRES (Pre-registration Examination System). Its in two major parts PRES 2 & 3. PRES1 is assessment & verification of your primary medical qualification & IELTS ( Band 7 with minimum of 6.5 in each band which is lower than U.K requirement which is 7.5). If you did your housemanship in Nigeria, you can't get a training post (Residency) in Ireland regardless of whether you have internationally reconized postgraduate qualifications e.g MRCP, MRCS, MRCOG, because Nigerian internship is not recognized, but you can get non-training posts easily (SHO) cos this is where they really need doctors. The pay in Ireland is relatively more than U.K cos you get to do more overtime which can even double your income unlike the U.K where no doctor can work more than 48hours per week. If you do your internship in countries like Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Malaysia, Sudan. It is recognized in Ireland and you can be exempted from the PRES exam and you even qualify to apply for training posts. PLAB1 as well as USMLE step 1&2 are also recognized in Ireland for exemption from PRES1 rugged7: |

Meet the FrankenBlackBerry. Is it an Android phone? Is it a BlackBerry? No, it’s the new BlackBerry Android phone! If you ever wondered what would happen if you slapped a BlackBerry keyboard onto an average Android phone, look no further. BlackBerry has this device for you. Notorious leaker Evan Blass shared a rendering of the new device on Twitter. It’s everything you’ve ever dreamed, and probably even a bit more. As you can see on the picture, it runs stock Android. BlackBerry opted for a more traditional 16:9 display instead of its tiny square-ish displays as well. But the downside is that this thing looks incredibly tall. Of course BlackBerry had to tilt the rendering angle a bit so that it doesn’t appear as tall as it seems. But I can’t help but see a gigantic TV remote control. So what’s BlackBerry’s solution to make this device fit in your pocket? A slider! It’s 2005 all over again. Sliders are great. Except that they break, make phones less durable, add weight and thickness and are inconvenient. And given the tall form factor, it will probably be very uncomfortable to type on this thing as the display will feel heavy. The keyboard looks very flat as well. You might not get the good old BlackBerry feeling when you type on this device. We will have to try it to know for sure. BlackBerry is throwing everything against the wall to stay relevant — square phablets, classic BlackBerry phones, modern 16:9 BlackBerry phones… Nothing seems to appeal to customers. Android is a much needed improvement as developers have abandoned BlackBerry’s operating system years ago. But BlackBerry can’t just become yet another Android OEM — all of them are already suffering from too much competition. That’s why adding a keyboard makes sense, in some way. I’m just not sure about the execution. But this FrankenBlackBerry might be too little, too late anyway. Source: www.pcadvisor.co.uk

Sometimes, I even wonder if the whole thing is worth it. Well, for now we keep doing the residency thingy cos it seems thats almost the only good option for doctors who want to practice in Nigeria. |
