opelyem: Life can be unfair sometimes. Op, how much do you give your dad? You see, it is usually the mother that children remember. I want to advise you to ensure you have your own investment. Believe me, if things turn around negatively, it is the same parent that will say what have you been using all the salary u had been collecting since to do.
If government is not owing your mum salary, I will say that 30k is even much. Please your family is young, build it up first. I don't send my Dad money, we don't talk and we don't even have a relationship. |

Hi folks, need a little advise here.
I am a married guy earning an average income. I send my mother an average of 30k each month, but it doesn't last 2 weeks before she starts complaining it is exhausted. She then starts blackmailing me saying I want to make her hungry. She is thinking its my wife preventing me from sending more. She works as a teacher and has no responsibilities as we are all married. I am not even aware of how much my other siblings are sending.
It has gotten to a point that my salary doesn't last till 20th of the month, yet mother is still putting pressure on me to send more. I have been sending her money monthly since I started working 6 years ago. I was also paying my sibling's school fees before she graduated.
I don't have a land or house neither do I have any savings to buy one. My mother has built her own house. I am currently in my thirties and I am thinking of cutting her off for a while so I can at least do something good for my self.
Kindly let me know how much you send your parents monthly to judge if I am not being a good son.
Thanks. |

Attraction: Please i am a banker, i earn 235,000 monthly though i earn more but this is what hits my account because our pension is taken at source. I have 1.3M in my account, it runs as fixed deposit but drops in my account with interest on monthly basis. Please i want to visit UK for 7 days vacation. My friend is coming from US, my friend is the one paying for hotel accomodation. How do i get visa. I am single and no child. I have been refused UK visa in 2011. since then i have not tried again. i have been working since 2008. The reason i was denied then, i paid in 1m and printed my statement account, they said there is no proof of the money even though it was my money. please now i need help and advise. My friend coming from the US is d big boy with cash to spend and hotel accomodation. My own is to get visa and come. Please help me, i really want to go to UK, i have only visited Indonesia in 2015. To be on the safe side, exclude your friend coming from the US with big bucks from your application entirely cos it will not fly with the ECO. Work on providing adequate documentations that you can afford the trip and establish your home ties by getting letter of introduction from your employer. Get your pay slips, tidy up your account and be sure there are no unexplainable deposits. Book a hotel, write a cover letter and also ensure you address the issues raised in your previous refusal. |

kayesanmi: Hello guys. Great work here.
I have been following the UK visa thread but i cant bring myself to reading all the 344 pages. So here it goes.. I have secured a job in the UK from an A list sponsor who have certified sponsorship for me and my wife. The plan is to apply for the visa together(me and wife). 1.While i would apply for tier 2 general, what type and subtype of visa would she apply for? 2.Do i apply for her or she does by herself? 3.can we submit together? 4.how does that work? 5.asides tb, police report, ielts and marriage certificate and relationship evidence(old pictures and stuff), what else are we going to submit? 6.what means of payment for visa is available...i have a dollar card 1. She would apply for tier 2 dependent visa 2. Her application forms must be separately filled. 3. Of course 4. While filling your visa application form, you would see where to fill you dependents and whether you're travelling together. Write a note at the additional information box too stating her passport number and visa application number. She should fill a separate form too, there would be a place to enter yoir details, and also write a note in the additional information box. Also you will link your application on TLS website and go for appointment together. 5. Nothing else (please note that she does not need IELTS UKVI, only you, the main applicant needs that) 6. You don't even need a dollar card, you can make payments in naira with paga at a good exchange rate (visit their website and open an account then upgrade it to KYC level 3) Cheers! |

PreciousGemRubb: Hello everyone. I want to invite my parents to the UK. I want to sponsor both of them fully. Mum has a monthly salary of 100k but dad is retired for few months now. My husband and I have £2,500 to sponsor both of them. I am on a tier 2 visa. I have my utility bills, council tax and other bills. I want to send N150,000 to my dad's account gradually over the next few weeks before applying for the visa. My mum will attach her bank statement for 6 months (salary account) and payslip, and my dad-his pension documents and 1 month bank statement (N150,000). What else will help this application and how can I prevent them being refused. Thanks One month bank statement will definitely raise eyebrows |

Jarus: justwise et al
Looks like I have run into further trouble.
Like I said earlier here, I'm in a very tight position - just got approval for the UK conference on Monday, started renewing my passport yesterday (expected to be out Friday). Travel is 15th October.
In a bid to make sure everything is ready before my new passport is ready, I started filling the UK visa application form online on Monday (two days ago), so that once my passport is ready, will just complete the application, pay, pick appointment and dash to the submission office.
Since I knew I can edit anytime, I did the following:
- filled placeholder - just random info - for information that will be available by Friday (hotel to be booked by my office in the UK and I will be advised before Friday - so I just put a hotel around the area I am visiting as hotel to stay), and just guessed a random number and put as passport number of my yet-to-be-issued passport, in the hope that I will edit when I have all the info on Friday
- chose priority service based on earlier info I have that priority service will be treated within 5 days.
- I stopped the application at payment in the hope of continuing when I have full info and then pay
I logged in today to start updating, specifically to change to super priority only that (and edit the new passport number and hotel address later), only to see I can't edit again.
To think I edited part of the application yesterday (with info available).
Now, I can't edit anything again today.
What can I do? Some of the info there are just placeholder that I want to change, and I also want to change to super priority, now I can't do that again! You can abandon that application, their system will automatically delete it after a while. Restart a fresh one and make all necessary adjustments |

ekpotek: I am not too conversant with spouse/dependent visa. However, the church cannot be the sponsor in this case. Its the husband that is sponsoring. A cover letter from the church does not amount to a sponsorship. Otherwise it will be a work visa and not dependent visa. Having said that, the ECO is kind and the applicant is lucky to be giving the opporrunity for AR. The applicant should just address the issues raised and it will be fine. The click is the traditional and church wedding which was done while still waiting for visa outcome. This is a strong proof of relationship. Just my thoughts. Alternatively, the applicant can reapply and address the issues. Since the husband is on Tier 2 visa sponsored by the church, she would be applying for a Tier 2 dependent visa and attaching husband's Certificate of Sponsorship issued by the church. |

No wonder my rich middle-aged uncle in the UK never got married again after his first marriage to a Nigerian lady failed. He is 59yrs now and has been dating one lady like that for 17years yet no marriage. The lady just give herself brain recently and arranged to get pregnant by another guy so she doesn't die childless. Uncle is now dating a 26yr old lady same age as his daughter. He is successful in his career, rich and fulfilled and no desperate woman will inherit any part of what he used his years to labour for or send him out of his mansion!!! It all makes sense now. My mum over the years used to say its "ishe aye" Until one time she went to lekki for house warming of one of his mansions in Naija. lol! |
