ChokolateBoss: Boost or no boost of d economy, child hawking should be BANNED. Its despicable. Imagine kids of 3-9 hawking in dis jungle of a country. Dose parents/guardians who send dem on such shud be punishd too. Dats gross child abuse. Imagine d evils dat cud befall dose kids. you are right. Only it's gonna take lots of work. Nigeria is backward in a many ways with child welfare being one of them. Besides, when the government is ready to lead in the right direction, the people will have no choice but to follow. |

The moment joystick is heard.. d tot of a guy stuff wud b d first thing that now rush to your mind...just awful. Nothing more apt could have described a man's private 'thing' better. Metaphorically, it's still the same thing. |

It appalls me the level of thinking of some people here in this 21st century. Why transfer the sins of the father on to the children?

nairalandist: So you guys think such babies are meant to be kept? Don't you know that the boko haram babies will be a reminder of the gruelsome experience to the girls who were kidnapped? Do you think they can ever love them?
You guys don't know anything. I go with the UN on that. I think it's better for them to abort the babies and start a new life. If there's anytime to abort a child, it's in a case like that. God forbid, but would you advise your own sister or wife to keep a rape baby or a boko haram baby? Please, the UN has given wise counsel, it's not about taboo or tradition right now... it's about doing what's effective .
Lalasticlala front page pls... As harsh as it may sound i think its best course of action. Cos giving birth to the baby and giving it up for adoption amounts to the same thing. Besides who will adopt boko haram baby? Not you...definitely not me. My advice is that, those who are willing to abort it should be allowed to, while those who can't should also be allowed to keep it. |

Stupidest thing I did was crush on a guy who works with my dad. He is a very pretty guy, fair, curly hair... I was in love. I couldn't resist any longer so I collected his number (I've always been very unconventional), called him, introduced myself and he promised to call me later that night. And that was how it began. We became phone lovers. One day my brother mentioned to me that the guy has a kid and he's married. I was stunned. Called him that night and posed the question to him. He didn't deny avin the kid but said he wasn't married though the baby mama sorta lives with him. He divulged that she was a crazy ass bi.t*h and an extremely jealous one. That when I began to panic. But my fear didn't escalate until she(baby mama) called me the following afternoon that she knows I'm the one who has been calling her boyfriend and that she knows where I stay. She also threatened she was gonna show me hell. I was in trouble, my dad mustn't hear about it. I was in fear through out that day. Later the guy called me and said she mistook me for someone else. I was so relieved. I remained phone friend with the guy afterwards. |

craleonic: The soon-to-be First Lady's statement is rather rash, if truly she said it the way he typed it. I take issues with the age limit. You can't say anyone below 18 is too young to marry, the limit should be lower to be reasonable, say 15 or 16. And saying she must be a school leaver, is laughable and unrealistic. Does she know the amount of young people (both male and female) unable to complete their sec school education for reasons out of marriage? It's tantamount to saying someone who has no education has no right to marriage. Even in the US, there are high school drop outs and no one stops them from getting married. all she is saying is that the marriage should be consensual and not foisted upon her by anybody. At age 17 one must have attained a good level of mental, social, physical maturity with or without school, thereby making her marriageable if she so wishes. |
Politics › Re: Guy Slams Mrs Aisha Buhari For Wanting To Scrap Child Marriage by Qmab: 10:06am On May 18, 2015 |
mmsen: Child marriage WAS in every culture.
Most societies have progressed beyond such a destructive practice.
It is outlawed in every state in south, 12 northern states refuse to sign the Child Rights Act into law. Why is that? true. You are right. Majority of our parents got married early like in their late teens and early twenties. But with civilization and Western education, majority of these acts were abolished. I don't see why the northerners couldn't emulate such acts. The root of their problem is lack of formal education. |

Pukena, try s much as possible to make it work if you still love her. It will certainly be tough. But you should try. But if you are the type of person who find it hard to forget after forgiveness, desist from the relationship and let her go. But I'll let you know that human beings are no saints and know one is perfect. I believe if you truly love her, you will help her get past through it. Help her believe that despite her past, she can still be a better person. She can still be loved for the person she has become. If you leave her now, how do you think she will perceive the world afterwards. No one's perfect. And there's no perfection in love. |

Romance › Re: Nigerian Women Aren't Gold-diggers, They Are Only Pursuing Happiness. by Qmab: 7:53am On May 18, 2015 |
Maybe Nigerian men also aren't helping by seeing potential ladies as being materialistic. It's more like they expect it from them and they want them to be so that they can feel justified when they eventually have carnal knowledge of such lady. For instance, giving a ride to a lady. A man will instantly opt to offer to buy the lady a meal, if she didn't refuse, the man will afterward feel he has earned the avenue to receive her number. The guy probably having called her on some numbers of occasion and also probably sent her recharge cards, will now ask her out again, this time to go for the proverbial kill. And should the lady refuse their sexual advance, they will start crying foul. I think if guys should stop this stereotypical acts against women, maybe we might see less of 'gold digging'. |

Oletty: Buhair will be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the 29th of May. Anyone who has problems with him shaking hands should relocate to Afghanistan or Pakistan. In the 21st century, some people are still uncomfortable with a man shaking a woman. Isn't a woman a human being. Weren't you born by a woman? What makes it wrong for a man to shake a woman or vice versa. And before anyone starts quoting some 'Holy Book' written eons ago, all I will say is: Africans, get your act together and let the Arabs do things the way they want. We are first and foremost humans, then Nigerians, then Muslims or Christians. Our common humanity is more important than whatever religion we choose to profess.
Buhari should make it a point of duty to shake women everyday. In some cultures, he would actually peck them on the cheeks You are right about the cheek-pecking thing. The French are extremely fond of it. It's their culture. |
