Will the dates pop up or you have to schedule yourself?

That’s what I’m asking. My page doesn’t show a pop up interview request.

Log into your interview appointment portal right now and share the screen that you see

I picked up my passport yesterday and the refusal letter date was 1st.

Thanks for your message, will a different section pop up on the portal or do we follow the same process of scheduling an IW before the dates pop up?

Dampops:
Good morning people, congrats to those that were successful with their IW applications recently. It seems there’s been delay between when the application changes to “issued” to when passport pick up mails are sent. I think the volume of application has increased so we should factor in 3-5 additional days. Recall that they had advised that the process could take up to 2 months…so no need for any panic.
For those that got a temporary setback of “refused”; just calm down as you’ll definitely be invited for a physical interview before a final decision is made. The likely red flags are: previous childbirth, irregular duration in your previous visits (e.g. less than 24 hours visit likely due to transiting to another country etc)…when you get your passport back, the 221g slip may give you an inkling.
You’ll have to schedule a follow up appointment on the portal. Dates usually pop up 3-5 business days after a refusal is updated on the tracking portal. If there’s a delay, please be patient. It’ll eventually pop up; use the waiting time to prepare for the interview.

I read where someone suggested “gate crashing” at the consulate on Thursday for the follow up interview. Hmmmm…I’m not sure that’s a good idea…imagine if everyone that got a refusal storm the place on same day, wouldn’t that be chaotic? Just my thought.

Wish everyone best of luck with getting Dropbox dates and their applications/interviews.

Mind my typos, if any

So I picked up my passport from DHL today. The option they ticked for me on the letter was to schedule an appointment.
I submitted on the 24th February and the letter is dated 28th February.
The letter doesn't tell me why they need me to schedule an appointment o. I was hoping to get some pointers from the letter

Same here, it didn’t say why. They also didn’t request for any document except passport. Just try to go for the interview on Thursday. I don’t see any option for a follow up so I’ll just show up.

Hopefully those that go on Thursday can let us know more about it.

There’s no option to schedule a follow up interview on my profile since the refusal on 1st, so I will go to the consulate on Thursday with the follow up letter.

IW- I submitted on 25th February
Refused 1st March
Pickup mail 7th March @ Evening
Picked up this morning 8th March, and found that I’ve been scheduled for a follow up interview.
The calendar for the follow up isn’t showing yet but it’s written on the letter that I should check after 2 days.

Please when did you submit and when did you get the pick up mail?

I just got my passport back from DHL, I got a follow up interview letter. I don’t have to pay another fee and the document requested for the interview is only my passport but I’ll go with other supporting documents just in case.

It seems everyone who submitted Feb 25 got refused, my parent application was refused too. That have never used more than 2weeks in USA. Never did anything wrong. I’m just wondering why it was refused

Did they receive any follow up instructions? I’ll pick up my passport tomorrow. I just hope there’ll be a follow up interview. I submitted on 25th as well.

[quote author=Dampops post=110687106]Calm down…you’ll get your passport by Monday latest and the 221g paper will tell you the actual reason for the temporary setback. Most likely, you’ll be asked to schedule a physical interview to clear up grey areas.

Good luck..

Thank you !

If you are looking for IW calender, i think the best way is to get like 12 or more people in a group and some in the group check in the morning hours and report while others check in the afternoon and the rest check at night. This way everyone in the group will have 2 login slots left everyday for when its needed and wont have to waste your 3 daily slots and get your account frozen.

if you find this idea a good one then please lets do it.

Yes, this is good.

Do you think its advisable to not add dependants when trying to book IW appointments.

Should every member of family that qualifies book separately.

Will this help get dates faster.

Because we have been doing together since 1st Feb and haven't gotten till now.

Account has been frozen three times

No, it doesn’t matter. I do no have dependants but I’m unable to view the calendar.

After 72 hours, my account was unfrozen, and I attempted to schedule an IW appointment, but received a notice indicating I was approaching the limit. Do I try again in 24 hours or the next day (12 a.m.)?

IRCC is withholding my gcms notes
Applied for it on November 23 and up till now no show. Sent several status request and no response. Also sent a complaint to the information commissioner, all an the same.
I applied through a friend who is a permanent resident of Canada.

Same, they are withholding mine as well. My application has been ongoing since June 2018 and I ordered my GCMS note in November.
There isn’t much option now than to sue them after 7months since I applied for study permit.

Have you tried ordering your gcms note to know what could be keeping the application all this while? If yes. You've no option but to keep on sending mails, praying and believing for a positive response from IRCC within the shortest timeframe.

Thanks for replying,
Yes, I ordered for my GCMs not over 50days ago but I haven’t gotten it yet.

Have you defered your admission? I observed that only people whose admission is for winter 2019 that are getting update. I have not observed update for anyone whose admission is for fall 2019.

I deferred from fall 2018 to winter 2019...now I had to contact the school and defer again to fall 2019. This people are unbelievable! Imagine one application for whole 7months.

LekwachiJJ:
Hello everyone..Pls pardon my long post. Finally my visa came out today after I submitted my passport on 18th September. I want to give the glory to God and thank everyone here especially those make very insightful contribution, the type that gingerred me to take some steps.

Mine is a strange one. Applied on 11th May. Biometrics on 23rd May. Medicals on 23rd August. Passport request on 18th September. And then everything came to a stand still for over 2 months. Within this period I submitted over 7 CSE webforms and wrote over 10 emails to Lagos VO but got maybe 2 responses. Meanwhile my online status remained at a confusing situation: eligibility review ongoing, meds passed, background check ongoing but application approved and passport requested. By October 18th I received a mail asking me to send in updated bank statement in a new format: bank statement request ticket plus password. My bank had not implemented this new format and so gabe me a cover letter to add to the normal statement. And then nothing again.

My last webform was responded to with the story that my application was in London. I wrote London last week and complained about the restriction of my movement for other personal and business travels outside of Canada with the continued with holding of my passport. London responded that my application has been approved since September and that they are aware my passport was dropped at VFS, can I go to VFS for "printing of your visa". So confusing! VFS does not print visas. Even then my many visits there revealed thar my passport was at the embassy.

Finally yesterday morning as I was driving to Anifowose instead of VFS as directed I got a call to attend an interview this morning. I was there by 6 am and by 8.30 I sat in front of an officer who told me my bank statements were not clear or legible. This is bery untrue as I scanned them myself. After barely looking through the updated statements I brought he asked me to wait for 10 minutes and in exactly 10 minutes my passport came out with my visa!

I applied to study MA Communication in UOttawa. My first degree ia in Pol Science, over 27 years ago. I had an MBA since 2001 and am a very mature appliacant. My SOI stated that after working in communication for over 2 decades I needed to retire to academics by studying in Canada and merging my long practical experience with serious academic scholarship for the benefit of my future students.

Document attached:
1. Acceptance letter and Statement of Intent
2. Dom account statement with over 100kUSD
3. TD acount statement with 40kCAD
4. Letter of employment, payslips
5. Travel history to Canada, US, UK, SA, etc
6. Scanned passport data page ( passport valid till 1st June 2019. So while waiting I applied for renewal and added the new passport via webform and email).

I did not add any property or evidence of family ties beyond what I filled in the family information form. Just the above.

Bottom line while waiting, I prayed and fasted like never before especially after I was told my application was in London.

My admission was deferred to Winter with the kind understanding of my faculty and I will be travelling by God's grace before new year. My testimony I did not lose faith in the power of God despite the odds against me as shown in many of the tesimonies and feedback in this forum especially about long gap from last degree

I pray everyone here will have a good story to tell and bery very soon in Jesus name. Amen.

Congratulations!!!
Please post the London email address.

Dear House,

Can an application go from background check to refusal?

When can one say he has been refused?

Thanks

Yes, sometimes even after medical request.
You can only know that you have been refused when you get the refusal letter.
Just try to stay positive and don’t think so much about refusal.

Aww, sorry! I finally found someone whose CIC frustration is worse than mine. Where did the snitching idea come from? Are you feeling guilty? Your anger is directed at the wrong person so go and face CIC as I did. SORRY, all will be well with you dear. GOODLUCK AND GOODBYE.

Hello house,

How do I reach CIC London/Nigeria via phone call I’m tired of this unnecessary wait since June. I just don’t even understand it, they are quick to respond to those who fool them and want to run away to Canada but are so slow to those who will definitely return. If not that my husband insists on Toronto because we have a place there, I won’t even bother with this. It’s even worse when some people had waited for so long only to get a refusal letter. They don’t even reply to messages.
I will call them to blast them because I’m tired so someone please give me their number.
