Scout60:
this is very common in Nigeria. After offering payment after service in Nigeria is sometimes risky in Nigeria. The zeal is no longer there.

My girl who happened to be a nurse narrated also a similar case of this. A guy who was stabbed on the penis was brought to their hospital. He was on admission for over 1 month. When the guy was discharged,

Guess what,
he sneaked out of the hospital at night through the roof. upon they locked him inside a room for an attempted escape. He sneak out through the roof.

The nurses were tasked to pay.
And the same Nigerian Patient will come on Nairaland to say:

"That shít only happens in Nigeria. In other countries, patients are treated first! People's lives matter not here! Even if you're dying here, they'll ask to go and purchase card, wait in line for the doctor SMH"

Greatest Nigerian Patients! Great!!! cheesy

I have a good feeling you're a doctor, then I must assumed you've seen a man died, permit me to also assume to fact that no money is worth loosing a life for, and that maybe if you don't see this fact, you shouldn't be a doctor in the first place. now I understand that doctors have Lives too, but note that providing a cannula, normal saline and maybe oxygen won't take that life away.
Pls goan take the Doctor's place in that case. Since you seem to know better what it takes to become one.

What am I even doing in this thread sef, back to my PLAB preparation jarey.

That is because they have a database and each person has a serial number just like our Bvn. - ssn or sin

No where wey u wan run go especially as they will have your fingerprint too..but in Nigeria, if the person runs away, where will you locate that person?

So blame your government
Are you minding them, Politician go pass by now them go hail am: "Baba oh! Anything for the boys?" Despite being responsible for their misery. But a poor doc trying to eke out a honest living living for himself and his family is shit in their eyes.

I really pity any Nigerian Doc still having hope in this country. They really dunno they're an endangered specie in this shithole.
Still not cool enough.....
No amount of money is worth a life....
So when the hospital exhausts all its materials on "hit & run" patients, what logistics will it use to treat you the day you're in need of aid? When the workers don't get their salaries despite working their asses off, thus can't afford to feed nor clothe their children as a result, because of trying to save another life, what advice will you have for them then?

This is d mentality that'll make Nigerians continue to lose its doctors...just continue...soon enough you'll have no doctor to blackmail anymore except Dr Sid and Small Doctor.
HealthRe: Twitter Users Explain Why Hospitals Insist On Payment Before Treatment by QualityHealthCa:
dominique:
Hospitals are run with money not goodwill. They have bills staff salaries to pay, supplies are bought with money too. Most of us don't have health insurance yet we expect hospitals to treat us first before collecting money. We're seriously not serious in this country.
That's why most of them like private hospital where they can goan beg doctor to reduce bill or even forgo it sef.

They know no one has their time for govt setting. Hence they tarnish the image of docs in govt settings, telling the world they're useless and worse than private hospitals just so as to get back their pound of flesh.

Only a foolish person will believe a doctor working in a PRIVATE hospital is better than that working in a TEACHING hospital.

SportsRe: N´Golo Kanté And The Mini Cooper S Car He Drives (PHOTO) by QualityHealthCa: 11:41am On Jul 17, 2018
AutoJoshNG:
The French World Cup-winning squad is an assemblage of multi-millionaires.

The total-net worth of all the players in the team amounts to the GDP of some countries.

Indeed, the members of the French national football squad are well rewarded for their sporting enterprise.

With their fat paychecks, they can all afford to live the luxurious life. For instance, most of them drive luxurious super-automobiles. Even the 19-year-old Kylian Mbappe owns a Ferarri, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Range Rover and more.

Interestingly, one of these multimillionaires prefer to live a life that draws no attention. He is N´Golo Kanté.

https://i68.tinypic.com/c28i9.jpg

Kante plays for the English premiership club, Chelsea FC. He has a networth of about $13milion.

His weekly salary at Chelsea is about £120,000.per week. That translates to about a staggering half a million pounds a month.

However, despite his fat pay cheques, the midfielder, who was named best French player of 2017, he isn’t one to show off.

While most of his colleagues are driving round in luxury motors, Kanté is happy with a Mini Cooper S, which costs just about N9.6million.

https://i65.tinypic.com/o9kfnk.jpg

According to him, “I’ve never been a car lover, when I was young my ambition was never to have a car or anything like that”,

Kanté, bought the Mini Cooper S while he was playing for Leicester City FC.

In January 2018, he had a collision with a truck with his Mini Cooper S. The car suffered some dents.

Instead, of trading it off for another, he took it for bodywork.

In an interview, the 26 year old Kante admitted that when he moved to England, he had to be persuaded to buy a car -as acquiring a car was not part of his agenda.

According to him, his plan when he arrived England was to run to training everyday.

We sort of have the same perspective towards rides...

I personally prefer to have strings of businesses than gallivanting around wasting away my life driving in a car...

Seriously, I have been reading comments here on Frontpage in my ghost mode, I can swear considering the fact that this is Africa's and Nigeria's largest forum, the comments here isn't encouraging to anyone seeking solace in this country..

The hates, negativety and naiveness is out of proportion.. Anyone reading through comments here will think that Nigeria is one slum, archaic and blinded habitat..
Common Nigeria isn't that bad undecided..

The Hate and negative comments is too much and uncalled for..
I feel bemused and saddened when I read these hatred here and sometimes I feel like getting emotional, not because of how bad the country is but because of the mindset on some of the habitats of this country..
I know am doing fine, living fine, and I know whole lot of folks living OK, fine, and they re all hustlers as well..

Common guys, Nigeria isn't that bad..
All yall got to do is believe, believe and believe.. It will all be better
Naivety. Not saying you're wrong, just that this is more commonly used.
