@ Op please get your fact right, what you posted is someone's opinion. The question you should be asking is why people repaint their vehicle.


Most of the car's in Nigeria are not brand new, they have been used outside the country, that's why it's called a tokumbo car. You cant cheat nature, so it's natural that after using the car for sometime both in abroad(different owner) and Nigeria the colour will begin to experience this weather factors. e.g fading colour at the roof top of the car and some parts of the body, rusty spots, peeling. Then you begin to realize that the paint of your car has lost its luster even after a good wax job.

Human factors also contribute, e.g car accident, dents, the kind of water you use in watching your car (bore hole water that hasn't been treated) etc.


Even a brand new car isn't safe.The fact of the matter is every day on the road, your car or truck faces elements that wear away at your cars paint. The very light of the sun, road salt, and even acidic rain can fade away the color and damage your cars factory issued paint. Gravel, sand and basic road debris can chip and mar your cars paint. All of this damage over time diminishes your cars good looks and its value.

Finally, Oven baking your car increases the resale value. When you have an oven baked job, the resale value often goes up. How much depends on the paint job, style and colour or colours chosen. While you should pick out a paint or design that best suits you, it can make your car or truck easier to sell when that time comes.
