But that is what the Hausa Fulani led central govt never wants and that's why the have made laws to ensure if anyone generates upto 750Mws you have to feed it to the National grid , a policy which I have never understood

Meanwhile a friend of mind just got double admissions to study petroleum engineering and marine engineering in fupre and Rsust respectively he is confused on which one to accept i personally think he should go for marine engineering coz a petroleum engineer can only work in an oil company n i think the oil and gas industry is congested coz these days every graduate wants to work in an oil company and graduating from a petroleum university even with first class does not guarantee him an oil n gas job what do u think??

Why should a State have to seek permission from a useless Federal government before they can build a power plant with their own money?It's like a tenant having to obtain permission from his landlord before he can provide food for his family with his own money.

That is what we have been saying for years. The state of emergency concerning power should have permitted all comers to generate, transmitt and distribute. It is when you have capacity that you regulate. By putting the cart before the horse in an emergency like this you create cartels who prey on folks because demand far outstrips supply. Same with petroleum, modular refineries till you have capacity then regulate.

The only downside to this is the mention of gas which quite frankly irritates me. Lagos has no gas and except if it can import sufficient quantities to keep the plants running we are in for another white elephant. Lagos is a coastal city thus surrounded by immense green potential. It can exploit these as a longer term solution for complete energy independence.
