Science/Technology / Re: COVID 19 - Homemade Ventilator By A Nigerian by Qualms: 7:25pm On Apr 08, 2020
Nice development. Shows we can solve or own challenges as Nigerians. If someone can do this despite the lockdown and inability to access materials, then he needs Govt's full support instead of begging Elon Musk for ventilators. This is the only local ventilator concept I've seen with a digital control. Imagine what this can be turneed to with the right funding.
Thumbs up.
Make we dey watch till Ghana or South Africa go snatch this one too from us.

Hi All and thank you for the effort in getting this scam exposed. We at VoguePay apologise for the delay in responding to this post. As you would imagine, of paramount importance to us are:
- Making sure that the promoters of this scam pay,
- Protecting the unsuspecting cardholders (job-seekers), and
- Making sure that the website is taken offline

We trust that your continued faith in our ability to combat suspected fraudulent practices like this is enough to let you understand that we will not sleep until we ensure that full remediation is made. Kicking cyber criminals out of our society is everyone's business.

The Fraud Management Team of VoguePay has scored vital points in tracking and identifying the promoters of this business. They have also ensured that the customers' funds remain protected and that a FULL refund will be made to every cardholder who fell victim to this scam. The fraudulent website has been summarily shut down. While it is near impossible to prevent these scams from happening, we have always invested heavily in security to ensure that cyber criminals stay far away from the VoguePay brand. And where an incidence occurs, ensuring that the suspected fraudsters are unable to access the funds (as is same in this case) has always been the team's primary goal.

We will be working with the law enforcement agents and affected banks in making sure that the promoters of this business are subjected to the law. This is a criminal case which we believe that the state will judiciously pursue.

We sincerely appreciate the efforts of the whistle blowers and everyone who reposed faith in VoguePay's zero tolerance for fraud related activities. We will be reaching out to those who made payments to this business by the end of this week with the refund plan.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to our teams on fraudcontrol @voguepay.com (remove space) and support @voguepay.com (remove space) if you suspect that our platform is being used for any unfair business practices. We take the security of all stakeholders very seriously.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Interview Invitation At Voguepay by Qualms: 5:53pm On Feb 23, 2016
1) VoguePay (owned by Vogue Web Solution) is in no way related to any company by the name quoted by you guys above
2) Companies do exist on the same floor, that is why Suites 32 and 33 was stated.
3) As smart graduates, we should know that when you have an email as careers@voguepay.com, there will be a website as "voguepay.com" where more information can be sourced on the Company
4) As smart graduates, we should know that if you are not sure about the company, you can carry out a prelim check on it by paying a courtesy visit prior to your interview date
5) As smart graduates, we should know that when you type "voguepay" into google, you will get a comprehensive feedback

You can be assured that if you are not smart enough to know how to source information online, you cannot excel at VoguePay or any similar firms. I am left wondering whatever happened to the quality of graduates being produced in recent times.
For the records, VoguePay shares no affiliation with any of the companies quoted above. You may google (as earlier advised) to understand why "Suites 32 & 33" were quoted. VoguePay has many awards to its credit and is currently nominated for the award of the best payment processor in Nigeria 2015. VoguePay won the same award in 2014 under the People's Choice category.

Please get your facts together.

Education / Re: He Graduated 11 Years Ago With 2:2 And Just Discovered That It's A Mistake by Qualms: 11:54pm On Oct 25, 2015
Similar happened to me in Unilag. I had graduated with a 2:1 and my "To Whom it May Concern" also clearly reads Second Class Upper. I requested for my transcript to be sent to a school in Germany and knowing fully my rights as a student in these countries, I mailed the school to send me the transcript they had received. Lo and behold, Unilag sent a transcript where my grade was quoted as 2:2. I requested that the German school to hold on with the processing of my admission while I engaged Unilag. In the end, Unilag acknowledged their mistake and sent an updated copy. Though it was a 2:1 this time, my grades had mysteriously dropped along the line, making it a weaker 2:1 than I originally finished with.

I will advise that you take the school up on it and demand a sizeable compensation. 11 years is no joke mehn!

Webmasters / Re: Who Does Voguepay Charge 1%, The Buyer Or The Seller. by Qualms: 8:24pm On Jan 04, 2014
Na Laugh:
The back and forth here has made it a little harder to determine without a doubt what the net charges are.
I'll present you a simple scenario question for the benefit of your potential customers (myself included).
Scenario: (assuming i am responsible for all fees)
If i (the merchant) receive a payment of 100 Naira from a customer, how much (less all fees) would i withdraw into my bank account?

I'll try my best to make this as clear as possible. N100 is not realistic as it is not enough to service the withdrawal charges alone. Also with a single payment and being a business merchant, why would you want to withdraw everytime a single payment drops into your account? It is not a wise decision looking at it from the business angle. We had sent out mail to some merchants we observe to withdraw everytime a payment is made as it will affect their business' profitability and that would mean a failure on our part as their payment facilitators. Here's why?

If you sell a product of N1,000 for example, and you withdraw everytime funds hit your account, by the time you would have withdrawn as much as N2 Million you would have expended 1% of N1,000 * 2000 + (120*2000) = 20,000 + 240,000 = N260,000.
On the same product however, if you withdraw the N2 Million once, say, then you would have expended 1% of N2M + 120 = 20,000 + 120 = N20,120.
You'd agree that one seems more intelligent business-wise.

For the transaction fees, as a buyer, if you have a VoguePay account and you choose to pay for the goods from your wallet, then, VoguePay will not be taking the 1% transaction fee. Plus, you'll get to fund your wallet absolutely free, giving you an opportunity to avoid all costs. Same for a merchant who chooses to have his buyers pay him via their VoguePay wallets.

There is nothing hidden, these things are simple mathematics and where a merchant seems to think our calculations incorrect at any instance, we are always willing to provide clarifications. If he is proven right, then a refund is the next step and we would be willing to adjust our systems accordingly.

For those who claim the charges to be otherwise, I can assure you that our system never charges above its configuration. Our charges are purely as stated. If you have a wallet on VoguePay and think you were overcharged (though I doubt that will ever happen), then mail our support team with the email I supplied earlier. If you think the issue extend beyond the support team, then we would be willing to have you mail our Nigerian or UK offices through ngoffice@voguepay.com and ukoffice@voguepay.com respectively.

Tell you what, there's a reason why our merchants are happy to be with VoguePay.
Webmasters / Re: Who Does Voguepay Charge 1%, The Buyer Or The Seller. by Qualms: 9:31pm On Jan 03, 2014
abhosts: On Voguepay, if a merchant decides to foot the Transaction fees for Card Payments, it would amount to a total of 3.5%.
1.5% + 1% when Receiving and and additional 1% when withdrawing to Bank account.
This is absolutely funny. It is very untrue and Nigerians are not fools. We dont do any charges manually. Our systems carry the exact configuration we display about our charges. On VoguePay, there are absolutely no hidden charges.

Booblacain, does it make any sense for us to charge you a further 1.5% if you say you prefer your customer to bear the 1% (which is actually lesser)? The only charges applicable to the merchant are what I posted earlier. VoguePay has the largest number of registered business merchants amongst Nigerian Payment Processors. These are people who guard their funds with their lives and employ regular and periodic auditing to ensure their books are right. Our systems are very transparent and you only need to register to see this.

You can also reach us on our support mail (support@voguepay.com) if you require any clarifications, have queries or require assistance.

spikes C: @op;
voguepay's total transaction fees from the customer to yout bank account is 2% + 120 naira
pls, read and digest their pricing page well.
he already posted the link.
I see you do not understand how all these play out. No point misrepresenting the facts. Each member on VoguePay has a wallet and that is where funds are housed. It is not as if withdrawals are pushed immediately a transaction occurs, so, your assumption is very wrong.
booblacain:

So where does this 2% come from? Are you actually marrying the transaction fee (btwn customer and merchant,1%) with the withdrawal charges (btwn voguepay and account owner, 1%+N250)?

That is the right question. It is simple mathematics, and even at that, despite having one of the most advanced systems and first class features, VoguePay prides itself as offering the fairest rate available anywhere in the payments processing industry in Nigeria.

Booblacain, withdrawal charges = 1% + N120, not 1% + N250.
Webmasters / Re: Who Does Voguepay Charge 1%, The Buyer Or The Seller. by Qualms: 2:42am On Jan 03, 2014
Booblacain, VoguePay charges 1% only as transaction fees. See the pricing page at https://voguepay.com/fees. That is what is obtainable. VoguePay's charges have NEVER exceeded 1% on any transaction and between December 03 and December 15, VoguePay waived the transaction fee for all transactions on its portal to appreciate our merchants.

The traditional approach is to have the 1% transaction fee to be borne by the merchant. This is the default on VoguePay. However, the nature of the business of some of our merchants require us to allow alternative approaches that will best develop their businesses, hence, the flexibility in choosing who pays the transaction fees.

Depending on what is best for your business, VoguePay offers you a high level of flexibility in order to make sure you're always on the ascent.

VoguePay accepts all popular Nigerian payment cards; MasterCard, Visa Card, Verve Card, Etranzact Card and PocketMoni Card.

Nairaland / General / Afrisoft Grants Scholarship To 4 by Qualms: 4:04pm On May 22, 2013
Afrisoft Interactive has sponsored four students on scholarship for the May 2013 batch of the Intensive Training Program for web and software development course. The selected four were chosen through an IQ based assessment arrived at measuring the ability of the prospective programmers to think exceptionally.

According to the CEO, Mr 'Leke Ojikutu, "good problem solving skills and the ability to think fast are characteristics that programmers must exhibit." Though the selection was challenging, the Company has decided to sponsor these four trainees in order to repay the faith the society has shown in us, our products and our services. The number of trainees granted scholarship so far stands at eight.

The May 2013 batch of trainees for the ITP commenced training on May 20, 2013. Trainees who are not on scholarship will pay the regular training fee of N50,000 only.

Webmasters / Afrisoft Interactive To Empower 1,000 by Qualms: 5:33pm On Apr 11, 2013
Afrisoft Interactive is set to empower a thousand people who would like to become players in the I.T industry in Nigeria. The first batch of trainees for the Afrisoft ITP commenced training in February 2013. This batch was the maiden batch after the reformation of the programming training to the Afrisoft ITP. Four trainees were given scholarship for the program while six Interns were given an automatic enrollment on the program.

The objective of the ITP is not just to train intending online entrepreneurs but to ensure that they are taken through the theoretical and practical challenges of creating and sustaining viable online business that will meet global standards and that will remain highly competitive.

According to the CAO, Mr Quam Ojikutu who is the training coordinator, “it is for the purpose of ensuring that the training objectives are adequately met that the training fee was reduced from #150,000 to #50,000. It was observed that the expensive training attracted individuals that only attended so as to be affiliated with Afrisoft Interactive and because they can easily afford the amount.”He furthered that “these trainees apart from being unserious as the program progressed were also not seen putting the training acquired into use to establish strong online businesses.” This formed the basis of redesigning the program to be;

More practical oriented
Involve reverse engineering of one of Afrisoft Interactive successful products so that the complex workings of the product can be laid bare in simple views
Involve the development and completion of a pet project to which will form an assessment basis to determine trainee readiness
Rebranding of the training program as the Afrisoft ITP.

It is to this end that the CEO of Afrisoft Interactive pledged a scholarship of up to the full training amount to deserving trainees. Scholarship assessment is conducted by way of IQ tests. No previous IT knowledge is required. Training is taken from scratch to ensure that each trainee is fully developed. The next batch of trainees will commence classes on May 20, 2013.

Are you still awaiting employment or would you rather join the league of the next online entrepreneurs to emerge from Nigeria?

You can reach the training coordinators through training@afrisoft.net or call Mayowa on 08093556340.
