The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has accused Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja of exhibiting bias in favour of former Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the immediate past Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorcha, in his handling of the cases they filed.



The allegation is contained in two fresh motions the EFCC filed before the court, demanding the withdrawal of Justice Taiwo from the two fundamental rights enforcement cases filed by Saraki and Okocha.



The EFCC said although it did not hope to always win its cases before the judge, the trend of Justice Taiwo’s orders in cases where it was conducting corruption/financial crimes investigations, made it difficult for it (the EFCC) to believe in the judge’s impartiality. The commission resorted to filing the fresh motion following the refusal by the court’s Chief Judge, Justice Adamu Kafarati to transfer the cases from Justice Taiwo’s court, as requested by the EFCC in a petition it earlier wrote against the judge.



The grounds, on which the EFCC based its fresh motions, include that: “His Lordship while sitting in Ekiti Judicial Division of the Federal High Court had in two previous cases involving former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, Attorney-General of Ekiti State and officials of Ekiti State Government given orders/decisions wherein the 4th respondent/applicant’s statutory powers to investigate economic and financial crimes were curtailed and gagged contrary to the established principles by superior courts.

“One is suit number, FHC/AD/CS/32/2016 between A.G. Of Ekiti State vs. EFCC and 17 Ors, while the other has been upturned by the Court of Appeal in Appeal No. CA/EK/8C/2017 between EFCC V. Mr. Ayodele Fayose & Anor.

“The 4th respondent/applicant does not expect to always win its cases before this honourable court, but the trend of decisions/orders being made against it by my lord in cases where it is conducting corruption/financial crimes investigations. has made it difficult for it to believe in my lord’s impartiality.

“The 4th respondent/applicant had petitioned the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court seeking that this matter be re-assigned from my Lord’s court to another court, and the Chief Judge advised that a formal motion be filed to that effect.”

It faulted the ex parte orders parte directing the respondents in the case, including the EFCC,”to stay all action in connection with the subject matter of this suit, to stay all action in connection with the subject matter of pending the determination of this suit”.

The commission said the orders had an indefinite life span “since no one can state when the main case can be determined.” It added that the orders were in the nature of interlocutory injunction “which ordinarily requires the aderse party to be put on notice” The EFCC stated:

“Without considering the merit in the application vis a vis the venue of the alleged violation of the fundamental rights, the court made an interlocutory order without hearing from the respondents applicant.

It is well established legal principle that no court has the power to stop the investigative powers of the 4th respondent or any agency established under the laws to investigate crimes.”

The commission argued that the orders issued by the court on May 9 and May 14, 2019 restrained it from performing its statutory duty. Other respondents in both cases the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), the Department of State Services (DSS), the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) and the Code of Conduct Bureau.



The EFCC had, in its earlier petition to Justice Kafarati, May 21, 2019, accused Justice Taiwo of being bias against it. In the petition, signed by the EFCC’s acting Chairman, Ibrahim Magu, the commission equally complained about the ex parte orders made by Justice Taiwo on May 9 and 14, restraining the commission from continuing its investigations of certain corruption allegations against Saraki, and Okorocha.



It requested in the petition the re-assignment of the two men’s cases and all other ones involving it in the judge’s docket to another judge of the court. It also recalled in the petition how the judge, out of alleged bias while sitting in the Ado-Ekiti Division of the court, gave rulings in favour of a former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose.



In their separate responses, Okorocha and Saraki urged Justice Kafarati to ignore the request by the EFCC, arguing that it was baseless. Saraki and Okorocha also contended that the orders made in their favour by the judge were justified owing to the circumstances of alleged harassment by the commission leading to their decision to file the cases in which the judge issued the restraining orders.



When the cases came up on Thursday, Justice Taiwo drew parties’ attention to the fresh motions by the EFCC,to which lawyers to Saraki and Okorocha sought time to respond to. The judge consequently adjourned both cases till September 27, 2019 for the hearing of the motions.

Actress and filmaker Omoni Oboli has reacted to the rape allegation levelled against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, by wife of singer Timi Dakolo.



In her post, Omoni said she stands with Busola but that were some incoherency in her claims which she believed was born out of ''truthfulness''.

I don’t know where to start concerning the story that’s still unfolding as I write.
The Bible warns us to “be quick to hear, be slow to speak, and be slow to wrath”, and going by my personal experience of seeing how quickly many took sides without first getting all the facts, weighing it against the character of all the parties involved, given our antecedents, and then drawing conclusions from evidence and an objective comparative analysis of the accounts, rather than from emotions, envy, the thrill of seeing strife, I have waited to digest the whole matter first.
What’s her motive for speaking out? Was it just to spite the pastor in question? Was it to destroy his reputation, or gain some financial advantage? Was it to build followership through the scandal that would surely come, not knowing that the pendulum could swing in either direction, for or against her? What exactly would spur a wife of a reputable and beloved entertainer, a mother, a business woman, with a beautiful life, coveted by many, to come out to make this kind of accusation?



Given her antecedent of being a calm, ‘dramaless’ queen (unless Timi says otherwise), with no history of seeking attention or being overly dramatic (at least not publicly), how did she get to this point of going public at such a time as this simply to make ‘spurious’ accusations against a ‘man of god’, as some have said in a bid to sound ‘objective’? I listened to the story, and because I know her husband, and his personality, I restrained myself from trying to weigh in based on the emotions that came flooding in, but here’s the thing, there was some incoherency in some of the claims, not because I believe she lied about them, but in my opinion was born out of the truthfulness of the real account. Why do I say that? Because unless you planned your own rape, the accounts are expected to sound incredible and spurious, and I suspect that’s why we don’t have so many convictions in many rape cases. Is there a manual, or rapist playbook that’s being distributed to all would-be rape victims (aka all women, and some boys and men) that I missed that gives point by point descriptions.

Every March 1st is wifey's birthday. Two years back, we invited some friends and wifey's brother to celebrate her birthday. The fun was massive. Then, having planned with the DJ, he changed the music to a birthday song. We forced wifey who ordinarily is a shy person to dance. I was dancing with her. Lo! The next song played and it was a love song by Tu baba. I went on a knee and popped the question. Wifey was elated and the whole place thundered with applause. She wasted no time in posting on her SM platforms - 'It's my birthday and i got a proposal ring'. So, journey to the big day started.


As our customs and tradition will have it, wedding things must be at the bride parent's place (Akure). So, off the journey to Akure began. It started first with the introduction. A later date was fixed for the engagement and white wedding. November 12 is our big day!


All the pre-weddings preparations, aso ebi and all sorts started. They were too complex for me as I'm not a fan of all that. I just wanted to make M my wife and start our lives together.
Despite the distance, friends and family turned up and journeyed to the ancient city of Akure. It was a convoy from Lagos. My guys came a day to the main event. The engagement was in the morning while Church service followed immediately. Then, reception was th grand finalle.


All through the Church service, na as night go be dey my mind. I was like: ' Finally, today na today'. Occasionally, I'll whisper in my wife's ear, 'wa fe Ku laleyi' *interpreter please...


Reception seems to last forever. I rendered a great poem to the love of my life admist tremendous clapping. She loved it and still keeps a copy of the poem.
Fast forward to night time, we lodged in a very cozy and expensive hotel. Everything was just on point. D Ac in the hotel room was making bro J (John Thomas) yarn for attention. We hurriedly entered the room, said a quick prayer, showered and gbam, we started the kissing and caressing. It was blissful but wifey wouldnt let me go down bellow.

Nigerian PHD holder writes about 'promiscuity in Hausa film industry'; claims some Kannywood actresses are 'lesbians, harlots'


One Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam , a graduate of the University of Birmingham, National University of Singapore and University of Gloucestershire, has written a controversial piece on the Hausa Film industry, in which he claimed that some of the actresses are lesbians while most engage in prostitution. Read below:


PROMISCUITY IN HAUSA FILM INDUSTRY

A veteran Hausa actor Malam Ibrahim Mandawari about 13 years ago complained of how the Kannywood actresses became rich overnight. He stressed that his years in the industry alone was more than the total age of most of them, but he did not have what they had in few years they spent in the industry. That was in those days when all they had was a little compared to what they are having/getting now. And, in those years, most of the current actresses did not join the industry. Some of them were in their husbands or parents houses.

What Ibrahim Mandawari was trying to point out was that a lot of them were only using films to advertise themselves. This is true because we have seen how they run a fancy and buoyant life out of their usual earnings. We are also aware of how big and rich men sponsor those celebrities to trips around the globe. So in essence, if truly they live this joyous and rich life within their legitimate earnings without engaging in prostitution, why are their male counterparts not as rich as they are? We recently gathered about N270 through an Instagram group NORTHERN HIBISCUS to Chiroki who is battling for survival, selling "kunun aya". Now imagine if he is also a woman.

What we are seeing now is a total disgrace to the image of Hausa culture hey claim they represent and Islamic tradition they came from. They spoil children's training instead of teaching virtues, norms and values they ought to. It is true most of them are promiscuous. We know what it takes a lady to start acting in Hausa movies. They have to give themselves out to producers and directors, at most times, to even the person introducing them into the industry. They enslave and exploit the girls in the name of what they call 'kan ta waye', meaning 'before she get exposed'. A person introducing them exploit them sexually first because he knows he won't be able to get them once their customers set eyes on them, She will one day be richer than even him.

Some of us going to Kano know all these. We know where they gather, the hotels they stay and what they do. This is the reason many responsible parents ban watching Hausa movies in their houses. In my father's house for instance, it is prohibited to play those movies, except out of our father's knowledge. He has done his part by making sure his children are not exposed to that irresponsibility in the name of entertainment. We can all tell who are their customers. Our leaders and politicians are undoubtedly their customers. I once met one of them in Cairo sponsored by a politician ( I'll not mention name), he later met her there and they stayed for two weeks. They ask them to get visa, travel to a particular country, lodge in a hotel and wait for them. Then they tell their families they are travelling abroad. No wonder they are now dominating even our political space. Our politicians are now finding pleasure in engaging them in campaigns, but the real motive is hidden.

The fact that some of them are even lesbians is true. I know a hotel in Zaria they visit and stay throughout some weekends. A friend once went there to drop a parcel for one of them, and unfortunately he saw a girl he know inside a room with some of them almost naked robbing and romancing each other and at the same time taking syrups and other drugs. The girl is now a professional lesbian in Zaria, recruiting many young girls into the act courtesy of her association with Kannywood actresses.

What happened recently between Hadiza Gabon and Amina Amal is further revealing what they really are and what they stand to represent; promiscuity. Gabon has the gut to confess that Amal approached her with demands but she refused. What made Amal to have feelings for her is another question, but one can't visit a market he knows a certain commodity can't be found in. But the fact remain, most of them are promiscuous and lack morality to be celebrities to our children. Is left for parents to monitor who becomes their children's role model.

A woman who became pregnant at 23 while still a "virgin" has narrated how she was shocked to find out she was expecting a child though she hadn't gotten involved in anything other than pre-intimacy.

Wathoni Anyansi said she was dating a guy and they would make out but they never had penetrative sex. She was 23 at the time and had never had sex.

But to her shock, five months after one of their make out sessions, she found out she was pregnant. Her boyfriend was also shocked when her family invited him for a meeting and he insisted they had never had sex but only made out.

Wathoni revealed that her boyfriend simply flapped his penis against her vulva and that was it. But, unknown to her, she was ovulating at the time, which is a time when a woman is at her most fertile.

According to NHS.UK, "It's possible for you to get pregnant without having sexual intercourse. For example, if you or your partner have semen or pre-ejaculate on your fingers and touch your vagina, your partner ejaculates near your vagina or your partner’s erect penis comes into contact with your body near your vagina."

They continued: "The risk of getting pregnant in this way is very low because sperm can only live for a short time outside of the body. However, it’s important to know that it’s possible to get pregnant in this way."

So, in Wathoni's case, her hymen was still intact but she was already pregnant.
