yinkeys:Are you for real? 😒 Anyway here. E plenty https://m.youtube.com/shorts/G6yelaatFXA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOQfzQrILko&pp=ygUMSGFhbGFuZCBtaXNz |
daveP:Whenever I think of NFF, my blood begins to boil. |
Better pikin. My favorite Super Falcons player after Esther Okoronkwo.
|
So Nottingham Forest forced Chelle to drop Ola Aina? 😑 |
caprikon:This. This is exactly what I'm concerned about. It's just more justification for their gross incompetence. |
elyte89:Yeah, most definitely not deliberate. In which case I low-key feel bad for them if what I'm hearing is true. Let's see what happens. I think Osasu said somewhere that the entire case will blow open before the new year and we may get the final verdict. Ghana, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Burkina Faso and now maybe DR Congo very soon. Our list of rivals and enemies in Africa keeps piling up. Lol. |
Bossoflife25:Well, first of all, I'm not a lawyer. Secondly, whatever happens at the end of this whole drama won't change the fact that we don't deserve to qualify for the World Cup anyway. If we somehow qualify by magic, cool. But it doesn't detract from my point. |
oloriooko:And what are we doing about capping him? Nothing, last time I checked. And we keep crying about our midfield... |
yinkeys:If I'm not mistaken, Haaland has missed an open net at least twice. That's arguably worse. |
elyte89:Heard about it too. Such a stupid protest from Nigeria and Cameroon. First of all, I don't believe FIFA will be willing to risk having any more drama and upsetting an entire country and possibly an entire continent by throwing DRC under the bus to favor Nigeria. They're already dealing with so much backlash for the World Cup draw. You know how the average soccer fans think. Penalizing DRC by disqualifying will be perceived as nothing more than corruption to favor Nigeria. I won't be surprised if they just fine them and move on with their lives. Also, aren't we ashamed that we keep trying desperately to find these backdoors to a tournament we didn't deserve to qualify for? This whole thing is pointless if you ask me. Count your losses and rebuild yourself. We need to stop this disgusting habit of looking for short cuts everywhere. |
Nomyth:We still have jobbers in this squad. Won't fare much better than the ones we called up. |
Odunayaw:They've paid the goat and other journalists on social media to hype those unknown gunmen online. Nigeria. Na today? |
NFF is killing football slowly and everybody just dey siddon look. Lol. No one is angry enough. Not the fans. Not the journalists. Not even the federal government. Colin Udoh equally observed this in a podcast. We keep talking but majority have moved on from the World Cup qualifying failure. Afterall football is not important to us in this country. Person wey we for give am time, learn the squad, build an identity and plan contingencies. In spite of everything he has done, dem wan use politics pursue am comot. The way things are going, we'll be rubbing shoulders with Sierra Leone and Gambia in the coming years. It's only a matter of time.

Mujtahida:Unforgivable performance. |
Scenes in this thread when Usman Muhammad scores the only goal to win Nigeria the title against Morocco or Senegal in the finals... 😂😂😂 |
Mujtahida:I swear. Hope they can pull it off, but honestly I think it's highly unlikely. I've never a more terrible bunch of underachievers in my entire lifetime of watching SE. |
I'm just watching the AFCON for the vibes at this point. If they win or not, I do not care. Nothing they can do in this AFCON will erase the fact that they bottled another World Cup qualifiers, especially one hosted in the freaking USA and when the teams and slots have been expanded. That loss to DRC seriously numbed me to this AFCON. I have no expectations from this squad. For the sake of their reputation, they should at least win the AFCON. But for me personally, they'll need to win at least two AFCONs and qualify for the next World Cup before I start to believe in this team again. |
Philosopher1979:So basically he's in form once every 7 years. 😂😂 |
elyte89:Granted, the best we have struggle to get results. How does this excuse the return of people like Uzoho who is clearly and obviously ten times worse than Okoye? You do realize that as it stands, if anything should happen to Nwabali at the tournament, we're going home immediately? I expect him to be heavily targeted by opposing teams. |
Midfield looking good though. |
semid4lyfe:True that. |
Well on the bright side... we finally have Akinsanmiro. Plus Fisayo is back. |
quickberry:I'd honestly rather see Ebenezer Harcourt as third choice than Uzoho. At least the former will get big tournament experience. He doesn't even need to play. He just has to get a feel of the stakes and atmosphere. Is there any truth to the rumor that Okoye declined? That will be very bizarre of him. The list is a D- overall. Not expecting much from this team. |
Deltamani:And against quality opponents too 🤧 |
Philosopher1979:Very well said. I think you meant Emmanuel Ayaosi? Not Emeka. Just looked up his name. Never heard of him before now tho. I too don't get the obsession with top 5 leagues. When it comes to quality, I don't believe everything starts and ends in Europe. However, you have to admit the level of competition in the top 5 leagues is insane. As an upcoming player, facing that level of adversity can be good for raising your mentality and expectations. That's on a technical level. On a superficial level, joining a top 5 league can boost your profile and brand as a player, especially if you're performing from decent to great. All that being said, I personally put more stock into having a "team" first. History has shown that having elite players in your squad is not enough. Ivory Coast in their prime (2008-2013) were underwhelming in both local and international competitions. Nigeria currently in their so-called "prime" (2021 till date) have missed out on two World Cups. England 2004-2008 had their squad stacked with literal superstars (Rooney, Gerrard, Lampard, Scholes to name just a quarter of a fraction) and they still flopped and even failed to qualify for the 2008 Euros. PSG Frontline of Neymar, Messi and Mbappe didn't perform up to pundits expectations. I've grown to be unimpressed by names alone. If your players can't gel together and produce results like a well-oiled machine, they'll struggle every time. South Africa with home based players knocked out Morocco who nearly dominated the World in 2022 with insanely talented foreign born players. We need a team first and foremost. We need a system we can rely on to produce results or at least put up a fight every time. Having top notch players will just be the icing on the cake. |
The fact that we don't have CAM prospects is very troubling. |
AndSunGorilla:🤣🤣🤣 |
Amedino99:Those mumunatus have been using friendlies against Zambia and other small COSAFA countries to deceive themselves. I pray they carry this overconfidence to the World Cup because that's where their eyes will open. |
elyte89:I tire for Eric Chelle o. Inviting people you know you're not going to use at all. This is one of the few issues I have with Chelle. He doesn't seem to know how to create something in our midfield, despite us having promising profiles like Akinsanmiro, Onyedika, Uche et al. Well maybe he'll prove me wrong with this AFCON. |
Goke7:I'm telling you. It will be a very traumatic game. 😂 |
solonnachi:Well, until Eric Chelle finally manages to retrieve his private noodles back from Moses Simon, he has no choice but to start him forever and ever. 🤧 |
