I saw this on X and I just burst out laughing. Heaven helps the team who goes up against this squad, especially if it's a knockout game with everything on the line.
|
semid4lyfe:Hmmm! Semi of lyfe. Congrats! |
Imagine thinking you'll go far in the AFCON with this bum in your team. 🤦🏾♀️ https://x.com/AJSilverCFC/status/1998453624087675153 |
Just got back from X, and according to Osasu, he said he spoke with some people and that there'll be little to no changes at all from the squad that went to the playoffs in Morocco, because according to them, "they need people they already know" or something like that. Are y'all still hopeful Nigeria will perform? 😂 |
AndSunGorilla:No. But they'll be part of the squad going to the FIFA World Cup next year. |
do4luv14:Wetin do Jezebelle? Where u dey run go? 😒 |
TheCongo2:Oga go and build a forum for you and your useless brothers to ramble about your sports. Nobody here cares about you think and we certainly didn't ask for your input. And please try coming up with jokes on your own. Relying on ChatGPT and other LLMs for banter only lets us know that you simply lack the wits to match your bravado. |
Sarsaparilla524:I'd argue Group F is just as deadly. Ivory Coast Cameroon Gabon Mozambique |
JohnBullMySon:This. Hating aside, I see South Africa being one of the best performing African teams in the WC group stages. Both Mexico and South Korea can be very inconsistent. You can never really tell what to expect from them. As a matter of fact, I'd consider it a bottle job by SA if they don't qualify from this group. They should at least finish among the best 3rd place teams. |
Truidstarr:Do we have any players going for this tournament at all or should we just send CHAN Eagles and forget this year's AFCON? |
Amedino99:I saw the werey too. Lol. Ironically, apart from Cape Verde, if there's any African team that is likely to mess up the bed at the World Cup and come back shamefully and empty handed, its most likely Ghana. I won't be surprised if Panama upset them in the first game. As for England and Croatia, this Ghana team I'm seeing is definitely getting spit roasted by those two. 😂 |
Goke7:My brother na so e suppose be. The way France pack Senegalese foreign borns in their team is the same way England pack our Nigerian foreign borns. So basically England na our second squad. 😁 Make all the other African teams smell out. |
Orkpekyandega:Very well said sir. If they want to root for other African teams at the World Cup, that's their cup of tea. But they shouldn't expect us to join their bandwagon. We see it here on a regular basis how aliens invade this thread to poo on us whenever we fall short in any competitive games. Why shouldn't I repay the favor and root for their downfall? I wish none of them well. Only African team I would have rooted for if a gun were pressed to my head is Cape Verde, but they ended up in the shark tank with Spain, Uruguay and a promising Saudi team led by Herve Renard who beat Argentina and Ivory Coast (recently). Cape Verde might as well not have qualified because they may not get a single point from that group. Na that England vs Ghana game I wan watch. With the number of diaspora Nigerians in the current English squad, that game will be like a beta version of the jollof derby. And if you even stop to think about that, England is really the only major team that is technically representing us at that World Cup because they have the highest number of Nigerian foreign borns in their squad. |
Darkprime:Good list but Uche will need plenty of attention during training. When last did he play any match at all? |
QueenJazz:Osimhen vs Ronaldo would have been lit. 🥲 Dem for wipe us sha. 😂 |
Goke7:Lol. You have no idea. It's not even the fact that we failed to qualify that is paining me. It's the fact that people like us who enjoy this beautiful game and follow it with so much passion expect so much from our national teams. Meanwhile, the people who have a hand in directly shaping our football either don't give a damn, or in some bizarre cases, are even praying for the downfall of our football for their own selfish benefits. We didn't qualify, that can easily be forgiven. I've forgotten it about a week ago. But what are doing about it? Why aren't heads rolling in NFF for failing to qualify for back to back World Cups? How are we even building for the future? Who are our brightest upcoming stars to take the reins from the likes of Osimhen and even surpass him? U23, U20 and U17 are dead and buried. This used to be our pipeline for harvesting SE talents. Many of our greatest legends came through these ranks. The NFF are trying their hardest to finish off the Super Falcons too. It's almost as if when we the fans are wishing for something, the NFF comes out and does the EXACT OPPOSITE of what we want just to mock us and call us stupid for supporting the Super Eagles. If they have to fail in everything else, why can't they even do the bare minimum at least?: pay the players their freaking money. That's my only pain o. E no pass like that. The lack of respect the NFF has for Nigerian football and football fans is my biggest anger. There's absolutely nothing to be positive about when it comes to Nigerian football. I'm only watching the AFCON and the World Cup for the love I have for the game of soccer. If Nigeria likes, they can get knocked out in the group stages, na dem sabi. |
Goke7:He doesn't deserve to go anywhere oo. Rubbish. Painfully incompetent president. The werey can't even pose properly for a pix, wearing such a tiny cap on his oversized head like an poorly worn CD. 🤧 |
Please who can tell me what this criminal was doing in USA for the World Cup draws? And why are people like this shameless journalist happily taking pictures with him?
|
Mujtahida:Lol. I see you're still in Stage 1 (Denial) of the 5 stages of grief. 😂 |
As for watching the World Cup, omo... I'm not going to let Nigerian foolishness and chaos deprive me of enjoying World Cup drama. As Nigeria no gree qualify because they forbid better thing, I don kuku support England. If they win next year, it will be special. 60 years since they last won the mundial, followed by years of mediocrity. If England wins, it will be a story of redemption. I'm also low-key rooting for Japan. Their football growth over the past few years has been interesting to see. Won't be surprised to see them sneak into the semi-finals, or even the finals sef. |
I just noticed something rather eerie. Every single time we've failed to qualify for the World Cup since our debut, we miss out on facing Portugal at the World Cup. 2006, Angola qualified ahead of us via H2H. They met Portugal in Group D that year. Ghana qualified ahead of us in the 2022 World Cup playoffs. They met Portugal in Group H that year. Now, we've lost the inter-confederation ticket to DRC. The winner of DRC's playoff path will face Portugal in USA next year. What is it about Portugal that the universe doesn't seem to want us facing them in a competitive game? 🤔 |
I'll enjoy watching England vs Ghana 😁 |
Portugal, Uzbekistan and Colombia would have been our group if we went all the way via the playoffs |
Senegal and Morocco's groups looking spicy. |
South Africa against Mexico and Korea DPR? Are you kidding me? 😑 |
Nigeria should have been in this pot. 🤧🤧 |
I don't know if it's the awkwardness of not qualifying, but there's so many drawn-out, cringey jokes and banter at this draw ceremony from the anchors. Like can we just get to the groups already? You lot aren't that funny. 🤦🏾♀️ |
elyte89:You wan boycott the World Cup? 😂 |
Watching this FIFA WC qualifying draw is bittersweet. |
Amedino99:Mathematically, there's actually plenty of time for Osimhen. By 2034, he'll be 36 at the most. Ronaldo is in his 40s and still gunning for one last shot at World Cup glory. Osimhen will be at the absolute peak of his power for the 2030 World Cup (if we don't bottle qualification again). 2-3 years younger than Messi was for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. So I guess that's a good thing. Saudi will likely be his last ever World Cup appearance. Depending on his form by then, he might even keep starting games, especially if there's still no one else to carry the mantle of super striker for the national team by 2034. Worst case, he'll be coming off the bench. It all comes down to what Osimhen wants for himself and whether his form appreciates or depreciates over time. |
elyte89:E sha no concern us. If it will benefit any team that didn't qualify, it will only be the ones who at least made it to the inter-confederation playoffs, of which we're not even among. |
joelsteron:Throw in Iwobi as well. |
