Babatunde Omoyeni, a web designer who planned to travel on the 10th of December to spend his Christmas and New Year holidays in the United States of America, has been killed in Lagos over N50. After obtaining all travel documents, he boarded a bus on Saturday and gave the conductor N500, but the conductor told him he didn’t have N450 change, because the fare was N50. When they got to the bus stop, Omoyeni demanded his change and a fight ensued. An Alfa in the bus intervened and the fight ended. But the conductor, who was still upset by the incident followed the victim to his house unbeknownst to the victim.

It was learnt that the conductor identified as Eletu, armed with a broken bottle, banged on the gate of the victim's house. A source said: “As the deceased opened the gate, Eletu stabbed him. Babatunde took to his heels, but the conductor chased him. Unfortunately, he fell down and the conductor stabbed him repeatedly,” he added.

The victim's younger sister, Blessing Omoyeni, said his brother would not have died if he was rescued on time. She said he spent over one hour in a pool of his own blood before he was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.

She said: “Nobody was ready to assist him to the hospital. A man had to throw himself in front of a commercial bus and asked the passengers to disembark, before he could get help. “He was rushed to LUTH, but they were turned back at the gate by a doctor who pronounced him dead on arrival around 12am. “People started beating the conductor and almost killed him before he was rescued and taken to the Aguda Police Division.” It was learnt that the victim’s corpse was deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary.

His girlfriend, Temiloluwa Ogundayo, said Babatunde was preparing for their engagement and recounted the bizarre encounter she had with him after his death. She said: “We have dated for over one year and he told me to meet my sister to ask for the requirement for our engagement. He said we would go there on Monday. “On that Saturday he called me around 5pm to prepare food for him that he would soon be home. I had done everything and was waiting for him in the house till 11pm when I drifted off into sleep. “Around 1am, he came in and slept beside me. He rubbed my head with his hand and I asked him if he had eaten his food, but he said I should not bother, that he was fine. “I went back to sleep and it was around 6am that somebody called me and asked if I knew he was dead. I jumped up and looked around the bathroom and kitchen to know if he was there, but I couldn’t find him.”

The conductor said the victim attacked him first. He said: “I am also a driver and I had parked my bus at about 7pm when I saw a co-driver who offered to take me home. “It was along the way that he decided to pick passengers and there were eight of them in the bus.

“I collected money from seven of them, but he refused to pay and said he knew me on the street. “It was at the bus stop that he broke a bottle and stabbed me in the forehead and cheek. I also got the same bottle, but unfortunately I stabbed him in the neck and he died.” The case is still ongoing.

Olamide has clinched the prestigious Future Awards Africa Prize in Entertainment.

Last night December 6, 2015, at the 10th edition of  TFAA, Olamide beat Yemi Alade (Nigeria), Vanessa Mdee (Tanzania), Refiloe Maele ‘Cassper Nyovest’ Phoolo (South Africa), Anne Kansiime (Uganda) to clinch the gong.

Although the YBNL rapper was absent from the event due to other obligations, a representative of his label picked the award on his behalf, while explaining that the ‘Shakitibobo’ singer was not in town.

Wizzy, Oju na hit ooo

Nigerian superstar songwriter, Wizkid recently revealed he didn’t expect his hit track, ‘Ojuelegba’, to be a hit song.
The 25-year-old Afropop artiste, who hasn’t been so fortunate in winning awards recently, said winning awards is not the reason why he is doing music.
In an interview with Fader magazine, Wizkid said he didn’t expect it to be a hit song:-
“I knew ‘Ojuelegba’ was a good song, but I didn’t expect it to blow up the way that it did.
My parents still live there. We have a house there.”
‘Ojuelegba’ is the 5th track off Wizkid’s “Ayo” album, and it was inspired by his experiences and sojourn in and around Ojuelegba, Lagos.
The song has a total of 5,176,476 views on Youtube, as of the time of this report.

We all wish our houses would clean themselves. Short of finding out you have a fairy godmother, these 13 tips might be the best way to feel as if your house has dirt-repelling powers.
As you try these out, remember that you don’t have to be perfect. We are all real people with real lives, and that includes real messes.
Pick one thing to improve and you’ll be amazed at what a difference it makes!
1. Start with one thing that is bothering you most
This might be the room people see when they come to the door or maybe your bedroom so you have a peaceful retreat.
Rather than trying to tackle the whole house at once, just pick up one small area in the morning. Seeing improvement in one area might motivate you to do more, but even if you stop there, you’ve made progress!
2. Clean as you go
Wouldn’t it be easier if your house never got messy in the first place? While that might not be totally realistic (especially if there are kids involved), you can give yourself a break by cleaning as you go.
Drop clothes in the hamper when you take them off, put cooking ingredients away, and drop dirty dishes right into the dishwasher as you cook. Wipe off counters when you spill, and grab things to take upstairs as you’re running up.
Cleaning as you go makes your house feel like it’s magically cleaning itself. This is possibly the next best thing to a fairy godmother!
3. Empty the dishwasher right away
This one simple change can transform the state of your kitchen. When you empty the dishwasher as soon as it’s run, you and the fam can drop dirty dishes right into the now empty dishwasher meaning—no stacks of dirty dishes in the sink! Isn’t that an awesome thought?
4. Make it a party!
Set a timer for 15 minutes, turn on some upbeat party music, and clean as much as you can until the timer rings! Get the whole family in on these quick cleaning parties.
Celebrate afterwards with a small special treat- like a few minutes with a good book, or throwing a ball around in the yard.
5. Get rid of stuff
The more “things” you have, the more time you need to put them away, and the less space you have for them.
Rooms feel cleaner when there are fewer things in them, and you can “clean” a room simply by getting rid of some of the stuff in it. Throw stuff out, donate to charity, or post items for sale online and earn a few extra bucks—all while making your cleaning job easier!
6. Get storage containers
The one exception to getting rid of stuff is storage containers. Having a place to put things away means you can put things away.
Clear plastic bins, cardboard boxes covered in pretty paper, or shelves, all give you a place to put things away. Get a few simple, affordable places to put things and you’ll be amazed at how much easier it is to clean!
7. Box up toys for later
Kids often have more toys than they can really use, and a lot of them end up just getting dumped out.
To save on clutter and clean up time, box up half of their toys and put them away. Then, in a few months, when they’re tired of the ones they’ve been playing with, you can switch them out. Voila! “New” toys and less to clean up!
8. Use dirt-trapping doormats
Stopping dirt and mud before they get tracked into the house saves you from having to sweep, mop and vacuum later. Have everyone take off their shoes at the door to stop dirt in its tracks.
9. Buy the right cleaning supplies
If you are bent over the bathtub scrubbing and wondering why it’s not looking any cleaner, you need new cleaning supplies.
Use vinegar to take off hard water stains, white “erasers” for cleaning marks from walls and doors, and mildly abrasive “soft” cleansers for sinks, stovetops and the bathtub.
Cooked on spots on smooth top stoves can be removed with the flat edge of a razor blade. (My appliance salesman told me he uses a paint scraper to clean his smooth top stove.)
10. Clean the shower while you shower
Keep a scrubber in the shower and every few days, take a minute while your conditioner soaks in to wash under the shampoo bottles and scrub down the walls.
If you have shower doors, keep a squeegee in the shower to get the water off them before you get out.
Do the same thing with the toilet. Once every couple of days, after you flush, grab the toilet brush and clean the bowl. Take a couple of pieces of toilet paper and wipe under the seat. Another piece will clean the back and those little places near the floor, and voila! You never have to set aside time to clean the bathroom!
11. Light a candle, diffuse an essential oil, or use lemon furniture polish
When you need a quick sense of a clean house, a fresh clean scent can trick our brains into thinking the house has just been scrubbed!
12. Have the whole family help
We all make messes, and we all need to help clean up.
If your family is resistant to helping clean up, start with a talk about how much you love doing fun things as a family, and how much more time you’ll have to spend with them if they help out.
Ask for and expect help getting the kitchen clean after breakfast and dinner, folding laundry, and doing other family chores.
13. Smile!
It makes everything better- even when cleaning.

Just received this mail from a Examhall reader, telling the story of how a police officer with the River state police command battered his live-in-lover and mother of his child. Read below…
Today at my office I met a woman in very grievous condition with a baby of about 11months and seriously ill with hernia strapped to her back. This young lady is about 29yrs old. She was cohabiting with one Sgt. Seyi Mathew Osuntokun with the Nigeria Police Force Number 212822 currently serving with the Anti-robbery squad, Rivers state.

SGT Osuntokun believes he has all power and he can never be brought to book for the grievous damage he has done to a girl that bore him a son he has refused to take responsibility. Upon getting home from her shop on Saturday, 21st November, 2015, he handcuffed her to the burglary in their apartment, fired two shots from his personal pump action gun (attached are pictures of the cartridges), with the baby still strapped to her back, he flogged and cut her with a cutlass. She was handcuffed throughout the night till around 8am when she was able to escape with the handcuff still attached to the fan he later handcuffed her to when he wanted her to feed the child while he went out to eat.
Sgt Osuntokun is a disgrace to the Nigerian police force which is a reputable organization and whose image has been seriously battered by blood sucking policemen like him. He has further threatened to kill her and the baby with her. The woman reported to Isiokpo police station, Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State, yet the beast is still roaming about freely without any action being taken. If nothing is being done to police officers like him that put the laws in their hands then I believe there is no hope for common masses like us

The public is hereby notified that Jerry Ogbonna Obike Phillip, whose photograph appears below, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in a case of stealing. Phillip allegedly withdrew the sum of N45, 000,000.00 (Forty Five million naira) which was mistakenly credited into his account in a new generation bank by the Central Bank of Nigeria before the money could be reversed to its rightful owner.
