#8 Water your plants while away Everybody loved gardening back then and heck, they do so even today! Thanks to this little trick your parents won't be dying of dehydraton while you're on a trip. Fill a bucket with water and place it a bit higher than the plants. Loosely tie few strands of wool together. Tie the ends to a weight and let it sink to the bottom of the bucket. Rest the other ends on the soil. The water will soak through the wool and water your plants.

#7 Light a match when it's windy I was seriously taken aback by this one. The number of times I've tried to light one in a damn auto rickshaw! Lifesaver! Forget using your hands as windshields, cut small shavings near the striking end of the match. This will increase the surface area and ensure the whole thing catches fire.

#6 Preserve Eggs Your refrigerator deserves a break! Bury your eggs into a box of dry salt, simple. Store it in a dry place. This way you can preserve them for a very long time.
|
#5 Use your watch as a compass We don't do a lot of sailing in the modern world but it doesn't hurt to know this. Point the hour hand at the sun. Lay a blade of grass or wire crosswise between the hour hand and the figure twelve. The end of the wire between twelve and the hour hand points south.

# 4 Carrying heavy articles No more broken vases or spilling water. Carry the jug upright. This prevents the weight from pulling down the object.
|
#3 Pull out long nails Once you've pulled it out just a bit, place a small block of wood under the pincers and your ordeal becomes a whole lot easier.
|
#2 Identify Gas Leaks Lifesaver. Literally. Paint strong soap solution on the pipe. The gas would cause bubbles at the escaping point. And don't be lighting any cigarettes while you're at it.

Here’s an assortment of some of the most useful life hacks that are relevant even today. 1. Cool Wine without ice In case you need to cool wine and have run out of ice, fret not. Wrap the bottle in flannel and place it in a crock beneath the cold water tap. Wait for ten minutes and the wine would be ready for the table. https://www.unbelievable-facts.com/2015/12/life-hacks-1910s.html

South Asia Is Also Experiencing The Worst Flooding In Decades And The Photos Are Horrifying Extreme rainfall has led to devastating floods across Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, killing nearly 1,200 people and displacing millions. |
While I have the greatest sympathy for those who have lost friends, family, pets or property in the Texas floods. I am disgusted at the relative number of column inches and amounts of airtime devoted to its coverage. During precisely the same period huge areas of Bangladesh, Nepal and India are suffering an even greater catastrophe, with 1,200 plus lives lost and millions made homeless. Let’s get some balance here. America is a rich country and will cope, despite inept leadership. Or are we saying that American lives are worth more?. http://time.com/3937181/gujarat-flooding-india-monsoon-70-dead/ http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2017/08/floods-kill-1200-india-nepal-bangladesh-170826230610924.html https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2017/aug/30/why-more-coverage-of-floods-in-texas-than-in-south-asia Cc, seun Cc, lalasticlala Cc, fynestboi Cc, mukina

Don’t get too close to these seemingly innocent creatures. Their poisonous sting, designed protection against sharks, is deadly to humans. Some brave divers still dare to swim with these majestic animals, who are actually quite shy and will only attack in self defense.
|
Twice a year, these stingrays migrate in the Gulf of Mexico to warmer waters –from the Yucatan Peninsula to Florida and back.

Thousands of Golden Rays, stretching all the way to the horizon.
