Sighs. Now that Queen for 7 Days has ended, what am I going to do with my life now.

Taejo is Lee Seung-Ye. (the general in Six Flying Dragons). The Goryeo one is Wang Geum. Taejo is the name given them because they're the founders of their respective dynasties.

Guys. So, at this point it seems I know more about Korean history than I'll ever know about the history of my own Yorubaland, thanks to all these Sageuks. In fact I can probably tell you the names of all the Joseon kings and their years of reign from Taejo to Sunjo.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing, or just a.... thing?

Lol. I saw an episode yestersay. Been following the recap ever since it started, but I read the recap to a point yesterday I had to just go see some scenes with my eyes. When the king starts his madness and everyone is like oh my, the king is evil, monster blah blah... I'm there like, excuse me...he's the king he can do whatever. Duh!!!

I like the fact that the writer isn't even trying to humanize the guy the way some do. Towards the end of a drama some writers will try to make the bad guy realize he did wrong and regret what he did, blah blah blah. BORING!!!! But here, Episode 17 and this dude is still evil and doing stuffs... You can't even hate that!
Have fun watching tho...

You're right. His own villainy is on fleek. He is also a black belt in psychological manipulation. I twale for him.

That was how I watched QF7D up till episode 12 until my poor heart couldn't take anymore then I stopped to rewatch it again from the beginning. And now I just finished episode 14 which, as far as I'm concerned, is one of the best episodes of any sageuk, ever. Pity the South Korean viewers pissed on what is a truly marvelous and breathtaking series. Their loss not mine.

Of the new Sageuks, King Love doesn't interest me (the historical 9th Prince isn't someone important and doesn't do anything important ether). Unless Bride of the Water God is Arang and the Magistrate-good, not interested either.

Ruler's last two episodes were a disappointment. Logic holes everywhere just to create unnecessary drama. And Lee Sun's death was utterly pointless.

Moon Lovers kinda deserved every bit of low rating it got. That drama was a production disaster! To me, at least.



If Seven day queen had aired in another timeslot or maybe later in the year, it might have done well. Viewers just finished 30 eps of treacherous Yeonsangun, and less than two months after, there's another drama romanticising him. Apart from that, the other characters aren't strong historical figures and they have a sad ending.


Then you've got Ruler airing at the same time which had the advantage of starting earlier and building up a viewer fan base. Plus stars two of South Korea's favorite child turn adult actors.

Poor Seven day queen just can't compete. Which is a shame cos the drama is really good.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Moon Lovers. But apart from that you've said it all.

Hopefully, with Ruler having ended today 7 Days Queen should get a significant boost in viewership.

If they follow history properly, then yes, it's a sad ending.
But I'm sure the writers know how to spin it and make it less painful to watch.

I'm already resigned to the painful ending. However, Park Min-Young's acting is just so captivating that I will have to watch until the bitter end.

Yep. I'll rate it better than all the ongoing sageuks. A pity it has such abysmally low ratings in Korea. These Koreans sef, same thing happened with Moon Lovers.

I think it is partly the producers fault for releasing it so soon after Rebel which is set in the same time period.

Watching Queen for 7 Days and I'm hooked.

I think this ruler episode 32 the writer must ship the crown prince and dae mok granddaughter cause this girl deserves the crown prince more than Kim so hyun who has just being there weeping through out the whole drama did you guys saw the scene where she stopped the pyunsoo group with the whip oh my God and when she was burning the poison flowers that was so badass.She just made my day.

I kind of like the development. It is different in a good way. I don't care too much about leads or whareva. In fact Ga Eun should just come and be going since she's pretty useless at this point. The only thing left for her to do is to fulfil the CP's mother's instructions.

Shouldn't you kill the writer instead of the CP.... This writer is doomed coz this is another cheese in the trap, how can she develop only yoon so he's character and leave the rest.... The only reason ruler has 14. 4% ratings despite its crappy writing is coz of YSH-KHS star power and acting talent and yet she sidelined the leads and give all the praise to yo on so hee... Why cast kim so hyun in the firs place if she won't develop her character.

I guess kim so hyun was really apologising for the drama instead of her swollen face.

Hehehehe. I think the writer boxed their self into a corner from the very beginning by making KSH the daughter of an insignificant official which left little room to manoeuvre. The fact that the writer abandoned her 'I am a medicine whiz kid' storyline didn't help either. They just forgot about the talent she was supposed to have and turned her into eye candy. Nonsense and Sojuoppa.

O boy. Episodes 31-32 of Ruler were hot.

I feel like the characters of Lee Sun and Hwa Gun were created to shiw two possible answers to the question, "what do you do if the person you love doesn't love you back?"

1. Lee Sun. Uses underhand tactics to try to win Ga Eun's Heart including destroying the person that she actually loves and trying to make her hate him. And he didn't show too much remorse.

2. Hwa Gun. Tries to win over the Crown Prince by helping him, first secretly, then openly, in defiance of her grandfather. And when the CP says he doesn't love her she didn't try to take it out on Ga Eun (apart from the Queen selection thing which was just her being petty).

And it was funny seeing Lee Sun forming boss and making alliances not knowing that Daemok is already three steps ahead.

for me a great plot plus acting is more important than ratings, but I'm pretty sure every actor/actress will feel bad at least to a certain extent if their hardwork doesn't result in good ratings, no matter how uninterested in ratings the person is (n there are some who claim they don't care about ratings just doing their job) there will still be a part of them that wants their drama to be highly rated

Maybe, but I don't think she really cares about that. For her it has always been about critical acclaim more than commercial success/ratings.

I think it is more about the roles for her and not who she is gonna be acting alongside. Remember she likes to take challenging roles and also vary the roles she portrays.

The things we do for love abi. Pretty intense plotting all round. Let the bad guys have their day in the sun; the cavalry is coming.

After all her efforts to save CP and everything else, if Hwa Gun ends up dead/exiled/moving away at the end I will find the scriptwriter. And. I. Will. End. Them.

I used to be a huge fan of Jumong and a few other Korean series back in the day.
But after a few boring ones, I switched to Hollywood.
Last week I decided to take try again and I'm currently watching Empress ki.
The series is something else. It's filled with intrigue, suspense and mad soundtracks.
I sleep at work cos I go to bed very late at night.

None of them own her she'll decide the person she want to be with herself this is the fair game the yeye king doesn't want which is why i said he's cray cray..

Hehe. Fair enough. But it will be helpful if you look at things from Lee Sun's point of view.

1. Trust isn't a static thing. It strengthens or erodes over time. So I am Lee Sun, forced to wear a darned mask for five years, on pain of death, couldn't see my family. If the crown Prince were alive I wouldn't have to suffer so. You can't help feeling a little bitterness there. Then the CP shows up after 5 years. Ehen, so you have been alive all this time but never tried to rescue me from my misery while I continued to suffer under your useless mask (remember he doesn't know what the CP has been up to and the CP didn't tell him). That's one.

2. I've been miserable for 5 years. No friend, no family, no comfort, or joy. Then the love of my life shows up in the Palace giving me true happiness for the first time in forever. But before I can even enjoy her company for 5 seconds the CP shows up to take her away from me. There is no way I won't feel some resentment for the CP. That's two.

3. Even though the king wants Ga Eun he did not try to force her. All his stratagems to make her stay and bring her closer have been perfectly legal and above board. The CP on the other hand, entering Palace anyhow even though he isn't an official, trying to run away with a court lady, basically treating the monarchy, and the person on the throne with disrespect just because he happens to be the CP.

Up to this point, suspicion has been building cos of the aforementioned but LS still regards the CP as a friend

4. And then the staged poisoning happened. The straw that broke the camel’s back, as they say. Sure, his jealousy fuelled his reaction there, but if the poisoning thing had just been an isolated incident then I'm sure he would have at least investigated before turning on the CP but when you add this to everything else then you at least understand why he reacted the way he did.

At this point he doesn't care about who she chooses. Being the king means he gets to be by her side everyday because she is the King's woman. End of story.

I don't agree. This has got little to do with greed. If you love someone you love someone and can do many things, both good and bad, to get then.

As for the kingship, it isn't because he wants to be King (he really doesn't care about the throne) it is because 1. Being king means getting Ga Eun. 2. Being king means the Crown Prince (who he believes is an evil, backstabbing person who uses and dumps people) no longer gets to wear the crown. His reasoning is entirely understandable.

Plus, how do you expect him to suspect his guard, the only person in the Palace who appreciates him, ehn? I wouldn't, if I were him, and neither would you.

Why don't you go buy 5 discs ('season' 1-5 of Empress Kí) from those Igbo guys for 500 Naira? It is cheaper that way, I think.

She was up to 8 years, i think, when her mom died, there is no way she does not have any revenge plans. All the climbing the walls and goofing around outside palace, I guess she must have picked 1 or 2 tactics. I like the way the writer didn't base on the whole 'revenge plans' but the 'Sassiness' don do... it's becoming boring! They shouldn't make her a weak princess!

I'm actually okay with the sassiness (the sauciness, rude and boisterous manner). I think it is a cover act to throw people off the scent while she searches for her Mama in peace. What I'm not okay with is her apparent stupidity: doing the same thing (like jumping walls, running away etc) repeatedly even though she keeps getting caught and putting others in trouble because of it. What else is that if not stupidity? Thankfully (or not) they are moving on to a love triangle.
