1: Are you aware that Nigeria is facing a Food crisis (The largest producer of rice in Africa is also the largest importer of rice on the continent)
2: 85% of our IGR is used to service existing debt interests not even paying it off little-by-little
3: Our population is estimated to hit 200 million in 2021 and yet in 2016 the BNS estimated that 60 million children of school age are at home
4: 2.8% was dedicated to healthcare in 2018 and 2.4% of the budget for education - guess how much was budgeted for critical infrastructure and how much was allocated to Governance?
5: You will be excused to think that "looters" are a bunch of co-ordinated #Endsars gangs - they are desperately impoverished Nigerians who have no jobs, no money and no hope while their rulers enjoy whatever means that can feed the majority

Your words indicate that you are many of those who live in comfortable bubbles - ignorant of the cause and effect of bad governance. one day the pot will boil over after placing your hands over it to hide the troubles underneath

@OP, quite the opposite. unfortunately the electoral college is one of the huge downsides of US elections. No other constitutional democracy that I know of runs this model.

California for example has 55 electoral votes, Texas and New York have almost 30 each. A president needs only 270 votes. This has led to the emergence of so-called swing votes / states. A democratic presidential candidate will only focus on areas where he is sure of winning rather than campaign to the entire country. I.e. places like Wyoming and Alaska have little electoral value (only 3 electoral votes) so there’s no point campaigning there.

So imagine a Nigeria where the presidential candidate only visits some states to campaign. States like Bayelsa, Taraba, Jigawa don’t get any attention cause they have little electoral votes.

This will result in far less representation in Nigeria as a candidate only needs to win the most populated states to cross the line. It also means you can win an election without achieving the majority vote in 2/3 of the states which will it constitution requires for fairness.

The North West have 7 States with 21 senators etc. Highest in the country.


The South East have 5 States with 15 senators. The lowest in the country.

How Can Southern Nigerians make change?

Truth be told IPOB became popular all thanks to President Buhari. No one gave a listening ear to the scammer Kanu until Buhari made IPOB his personal problem.

By the singular act of arresting the Londoner, Buhari help gave the Biafran agitation a face lift. How he foolishly allowed his advisers convince him to hunt Nnamdi Kanu, as well as shoot at IPOB protesters is another topic entirely.

Morever, Igbo leaders have never being known to support terrorism, unlike your leaders in the north. In the IPOB issue, history will always vindicate the Igbo leaders. IPOB is currently ostracized in the east. But this cannot be said in the north. I saw your response to Igbochief001 where you urged restructuring.

Igbos like me have been calling for an end to marginalisation by advocating political restructuing, just as some of our leaders have been doing for decades.

Any sensible person will know that should there be restructuring eventually, its as a result of pressure and stress that IPOB has given the nigerian govt through a call for Biafra, so they will rather settle for a middle ground

If per-adventure Biafra doesnt come, the least we settle for is proper restructuring which reasonable people have being yearning for decades.

Maybe you're too foolish to realise that IPOB would have played a huge role in achieving this and that your hatred wouldnt in any way deter IPOB or MNK
