Hi. Go to a reputable medical lab and let them do a culture and sensitivity test on your urine to know what antibiotic that will work best for your infection cos most organisms are becoming resistance to drugs now.

So interesting.
This reminds me of a movie where, someone in order to avoid the electronic footprint in the use of email to communicate to a fugitive decided to use the old fashioned typewriter to type on paper to be dispatched codedly. The guy passed across the info successfully but his message was gotten by the villains. Guess how? The carbon paper used was fetched from the trash and the message deciphered! Can't remember the title of the movie at the moment.

Moral of the story is that no technology no matter how advanced or crude it might be is infallible.
HealthRe: My Sister Died Of Menstrual Pain by qwertygeni: 9:10am On Dec 23, 2016
ChelseaDr:
@Op, sorry about your loss, it only God that can console you and the entire family. May she rest in peace, Amen!

Even though the exact cause of her death is unknown, there are possibilities....

The first possibility is what we call ENDOMETRIOSIS (this may not be the immediate cause of her death but could have contributed to it, albeit indirectly). Endometriosis is when the covering of the womb is found outside the womb and this has a lot of complications.

People with this condition usually have chronic pelvic pain (including menstrual pain), infertility and pain during intercourse.... your sister has the first two and if her husband can tell you she probably had the third as well.

Endometriosis can lead to matting or clumping together of internal organs (adhesions) and if this happens on the tubes the fertilized eggs will not move freely into the womb and may remain in the tube to form Ectopic pregnancy.

It is possible she had ruptured Ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the womb that bursted), this is because she has been having treatment for infertility as well as chronic pelvic pain as a result of endometriosis.

Yes she had bleeding 10 days previously...this may or may not be menstruation. It is possible that this pregnancy(in the tube) was in the process of being lost (common at her age) and all the support (hormones... progesterone) being withdrawn leading to the preparations the womb was making to receive the fertilized baby to be dismantled and appear as menstrual bleeding (what we call Arias-Stella reaction).

Ectopic pregnancy especially when ruptured, is a killer. She may have died of haemorrhagic shock (internal bleeding)... remember the sudden collapse and cold extremities.

Another possibility is ruptured ovarian cyst. Though it rarely causes death but it can happen. The endometriosis(which I think she had) may have caused adhesions leading the cyst bursting and bleeding inside.

It could also be ruptured appendix, even though she did not have fever, vomiting or constipation... it could be an atypical presentation anyway.

Like you suggested, autopsy would have answered all these questions but our people have aversion to such.... let's leave it to God, and may He alone console you people

Cheers!
At Op, my condolences to your family. Please, chelseadr has said most of the likely aetiology. His differentials are on point.

I believe your best shot is to consult an experienced doctor. But meanwhile, You can try ice pack to ease the turgidity, aspirin to ease the pain and also to thin the blood so that you can have a free flow of blood in your blood vessels. Good luck as you get a lasting solution.

I appreciate you all for your advices. I will see into them, but, I have a question for Gazzuzz. From the reason you gave on my mechanic being right, how come only one wheel is the culprit.? May God increase you all in knowledge. Thank you
Car TalkHelp! My Front Tyre Rim Gets Very Hot by qwertygeni(op): 12:10am On Oct 30, 2016
I drive a 2002 ford escape. I have been battling with a case of excessive hotness of my front right rim to a point that I feel a forcel drag affecting my acceleration and smell of a burning brake pad. My mechanic has checked the calipers and the hub, saying they are OK. He suspected the abs system, to which we temporary disconnected the abs wire but the front wheel still heats up with the drag and burning brake pad odour. We afterwards changed the brake bad to which the wheel still heats up and not as terrible as it was before the pad was replaced. Also, the drag is close to nil but the smell of the burning brake pad still persists. My mechanic is still suspecting the abs system.

Your opinions and advices are welcome sirs!

PS: No check engine light showed when the problem started till now except when we temporarily disconnected the abs when abs and hand brake light showed up. Also, after the brake pad replacement on both front wheels, the left side heats up to but not as excessive as that of the right wheel where the problem has been.

EducationNigerian Admitted Into Prestigious US Academy Of Science by qwertygeni(op): 8:50am On Oct 20, 2016
Dr. Oyewale Tomori has been elected an international member of the US National Academy of Medicine, effective October 1 2016.  The US National Academy of Medicine (NAM), was established in 1970 as part of the US congressionally chartered National Academy of Sciences. The NAM provides unbiased, evidence-based, authoritative information and advice relating to biomedical science, medicine, and health, and science policy to governments, policy-makers, professionals, leaders in every sector of society, and the public at large. The NAM works across disciplines sparking innovative solutions to advance knowledge and accelerate progress in science medicine policy and health equity.
In electing Dr. Tomori, NAM members noted his leadership role in establishing the Africa Regional Polio Laboratory Network, developing laboratory capacity for polio diagnosis and providing a framework for the setup of additional laboratory networks for yellow fever, measles, and other viral hemorrhagic fevers. The Academy observed that his broad expertise in disease control and commitment to strengthening health systems have led to his serving in numerous advisory and leadership roles for the World Health Organization, governments and agencies. NAM members took cognizance of his elucidation of the properties of a virus- the Orungo virus- which he registered with the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV). It was further noted that he played a key role in the development of young African scientists through his leadership as founding Vice Chancellor of Redeemer’s University in Nigeria.

Dr. Tomori, a 1971 veterinary graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, earned a PhD degree in Virology from University of Ibadan in 1976. He was recognized in Nigeria with the National Order of Merit (NNOM), the highest award for academic and intellectual attainment. Graduating as a veterinarian, he employed his training to achieve a level of recognition in the health sciences that serves as a model for the broad contribution of veterinarians to global health and the essence of the concept of “One Health” in dealing with current situation and picture of emerging and re-emerging diseases. He is currently the President of the Nigeria Academy of Science.

Dr. Tomori joins a group of distinguished individuals who have made significant contributions to global science, medicine and health, including the only other Nigerian, Professor Adetokunbo Lucas, who was elected in 1988, as an international member of the US Institute of Medicine (IOM), as the US National Academy of Medicine was then known.

blackfm:
4 minutes glue is the answer. Just make sure you tighten the mirror to the holder very well after the glue has set. Gazzuzz recommended same to me last year and the mirror hasn't dropped since
lonelydora:
Super glue won't hold it but you can try '4 minutes' gum. The Araldite they usually mix.

PropertiesRe: Decorative Fence Ideas, Please Help With Suggestions! by qwertygeni: 10:05pm On Sep 17, 2016
lumidii:
To each, his own.
I will not have a see through fence unless I am in a gated and secured estate where all the inhabitants are of relatively equal means.
People get robbed and killed in broad daylight, out in the open, on the highways, on the streets, and an argument is being put forward to rely on the bravado of neighbours to secure one's property? Rows of houses on the same street have been robbed for hours and the residents cower and scamper.

In a developing community - the purpose of my fence would be fortification and to repel any form of intrusion into my compound. And then there would be bullet proofed doors every step of the way.
Nothing is fool proof, but I would do all I can to protect me and mine.

Thank you lumidii for your beautiful and insightful synopsis

Dear op, I believe you need to avail us on the kind of environment where your edifice would be. This information is needed for a purposeful opinion as the kind of people around you would have great influence on your designs and desire.

I make bold to say that if you are just among the few rich house owners in your vicinity, kindly disregard any attempt to have a low/ see through fence cos you would definitely become a cynosure of both evil and good eyes. This is just besides the turning of your house to a mecca for those looking for charity from you, knowing fully well your worth from the display of your weatlth.

These days men of the underworld would follow you in gently like a member of the family without raising the slightest suspicion. More so, in many cases neighbours uphold the principle of 'to your tent oh Israel' when most crimes are happening. Kindly, know that be it high or low, see through or closed, most perimeter fencings are not fool proof. This reminds me of an attack on a supposed elite . The man had his fence broken at the base by these men of the underworld who came handy with tools. I think they killed his dogs one after the other, disarm his guards and made for the main house door which was bulletproof. As fortified as the house was, they gained entrance through the point where the point where the pipe coming from the water tank goes into the house. Who could have thought about this Achilles heel in a supposedly fortified house!

So make the best decision for yourself sir!
