If the wight wasnt turned by that general, what was it doing in their mist in the first place? Or was it just waiting for Jon to capture it since Jon needed just one, or was it out of sheer coincidence?

As for uncle benjen serving the 3 eyed raven, that doesn't explain how only him survived in the blistering storm when most people died.. ..or does the 3 eyed raven given supernatural life? He even rode on a horse, how did he even feed the horse in an icy desert land for days/weeks/months? There are several questions begging to be answered.
