The bridge clinic's fertility services are quite ok with regards to quality and success rates, but the downside is that they're relatively more expensive. |
@Bukizo: Sensitive teeth is essentially caused by recession of the gum away from the teeth, hence exposing the roots of the teeth which are richly supplied with nerve endings thus resulting in higher sensitivity. This gum recession could be as a result of years of brushing the teeth the wrong way or using brushes with hard bristles. In some cases, the solution is by using those things your dentist suggested, but this usually takes a while before any noticeable improvement. However, if such measures fail then the solution is surgery (grafting). |
Thanks a lot Unclesam. The code worked. I can now use mtn & airtel sim on my glo modem. |

@All: Scientists and researchers all agree that HIV does not survive well outside the human body. The virus is very sensitive to very small changes in temperature and exposure to air. Within seconds to a few minutes of exposure to the environment, HIV would be destroyed and rendered non-infective, making the possibility of transmission through contact with environmental surfaces extremely remote. The only instances where HIV is known to survive for longer periods outside the human body is in tightly controlled laboratory environments and in syringe needles. The reason why HIV survives better in syringe needles is that these needles are hollow and would usually contain a significant amount of the user's blood which will take more time to dry out, hence making it possible for HIV to be transmitted through sharing of needles. Hair clippers, on the other hand, can only be contaminated by little amounts of blood on its cutting surfaces, which once exposed to air would immediately dry out and destroy any contained HIV. Also, the heat generated on the cutting surfaces of the clipper through friction is enough to destroy the virus which, as mentioned earlier, is very sensitive to small temperature changes. Again, sterilizing the clipper in between users reduces the risk of HIV transmission even further. So, in effect, the risk of transmission of HIV through sharing a hair clipper is quite remote, but to be on the safe side it is advisable to get your own hair clipper and where you cannot afford one, please ensure the clipper is properly sterilized before it's used on you. And please note that there are other blood-borne diseases you should be concerned about, other than HIV, so it's better to be safe than sorry! |
Balogun:Thanks Balogun. Judging by the lenght of this thread & the sheer number of questions being posted, I must confess, you've been doing a great job so far, and all by yourself. It's about time you had some help and am glad to offer some. |
victoks:A woman's private part always emanates a discrete smell at one time or another. Whether this smell is normal or not, is really a matter of personal judgment. Every woman's private part has a particular smell which is natural for her. Even when you notice a recent difference in the smell, it is not necessarily an infection. That change may be linked to a specific moment of your menstrual cycle because the smell of your private part can vary depending on the time of your cycle. In fact, some women notice their smell when there is no notable smell detected by their partners. However, if the smell changes and becomes strongly unpleasant and foul (repugnant fishy vaginal odor), with or without other accompanying symptoms, this change deserves attention because it is perhaps a sign of a vaginal infection, which if left untreated, may result in serious or permanent long term complications like infertility, chronic pelvic pain, ectopic pregnancy, and so on. |
Wayne4uall:Many factors can cause people to lose their hair but the most common is hereditary hair loss. Annoyingly, this condition affects 40% of men under 35yrs. Minoxidil is a drug that is used orally as an antihypertensive, but was noticed to cause hair growth as a side effect. Hence, it is now added to some products which can be used directly on areas of hair loss on the head and such products are used to treat male baldness. An example of such a product is Regaine; don't know if it's available in Naija though, so just look for any product containing minoxidil (usually in 2% concentration). |
@Balogun: Very interesting thread you've got here. Keep up the good work. Would be glad to lend a hand anyway I can. Ciao. |
