panafrican:So you want SA police to go down an abandoned mine whose terrain they're unfamiliar with, which has been declared structurally unstable and also alledgedly has hundreds of armed gang members down there who know the terrain better than SAPS? What's the difference between the cops going down there and the illegal miners resurfacing on their own? Either way they're still gonna face arrest so they should save the cops and SA the trouble. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8Pz9iY09BA?si=IOIJucrev-gW7YOR Chris Brown's first of two concerts in South Africa went without a glitch on Saturday evening at the 94,000 seater FNB Stadium (Soccer City) in Johannesburg. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WX5qVNjkhys?si=X6ukvI-oZ3ZsY_il This despite a petition that had been brought forward by an anti-GBV group, Women for Change, to have the US artist banned from SA for past incidents of violence. The petition received over 50,000 signatures. The second concert will hold on Sunday at the same venue.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrF-VOAdq_8?si=3XXtBKEVjFs8Xgty "Checkers will literally cross the ocean for you," was one response to a Checkers Sixty60 campaign in which a branded jet ski was seen making a grocery delivery. Videos of a branded Checkers Sixy60 jet ski (part of the Shoprite Group Holdings) went viral, after it was spotted at the beach in Clifton, Cape Town last week delivering goods to a beachgoer. An advert later spotted on social media showed the jet ski delivering ice lollies to a boat, with the delivery being so speedy that they hadn't melted. Aqeela Jayy couldn't believe her eyes when she saw the jet ski. "It's a flippen brilliant innovative plan if you ask me," she said. Videos posted on social media garnered well over 1.6 million views, with many pleading with the retail giant to ensure the jet skis were launched before Boxing Day (December 26), which traditionally sees thousands of people flocking to the beach. Rashied Mohammed Salie, who labelled the innovation as "world-class", said he would use the service every time he was at the beach if it was available. "Swimming makes one hungry. I mean, how cool will it be to be in the ocean, a family member on the sand ordering you a cold beverage or food to eat and here comes the jet ski delivery man? I think it's brilliant marketing," said Salie. One social media user commented that "Checkers clearly has money to waste", while others had lots of questions about how the system would work, and if it was real, when it would be rolled out. "It's confusing because how on Earth will the driver of that jet ski locate your position in the water when there would be hundreds of people at beaches during the holidays, mostly the popular beaches in Clifton?" Monique Gedult asked. Another questioned whether Checkers would be rolling out the innovative plan to beaches like Strandfontein, Monwabisi near Khayelitsha, as well as Muizenberg and Simonstown. Others wanted to know whether swimming pools were included in the shop's plans. Michelle Arendse liked the idea, but asked: "Would the delivery man go pick up the goods with his car, then have the jet ski loaded onto the roof of his vehicle, offload it, and drag it onto the beach for him to get into the water? "It sounds like way too much trouble," Arendse said. She also questioned what the delivery fee would be. "Kudos to Checkers for their marketing, they clearly went all out. But, there is so much questions around this. The marketing screams 'I'll cross the ocean for you' and your fun in the sun, but, is it really worth it? Will it actually work?," questioned Arendse. Matthew Titus questioned whether all delivery drivers would now need to add "able to swim" to their resumes when applying for the position. "One thing about the Sixty60 initiative is that delivery is fast and super easy to do. I love the scooter vibes; I'm struggling to wrap my head around jet skis delivering groceries, though," said Titus. Michail Adams, an ice cream seller at Camps Bay, said he would be disappointed should Checkers start delivering to beachgoers using jet skis since it might harm his small business. "It's frustrating that big shops are taking business away from small traders," he said. A disgruntled Adams said he struggled to secure his beach trading permit and relies on this income to support his family. "I don't think they realise how hard we work to put food on the table," he added. He noted that many people prefer ordering online due to the variety of options available. "Of course, tourists will also choose to order online," he said. Adams emphasised that visiting the beach should include a unique Cape Town experience, where people decide to buy from local traders like him. One beach lover joked: "Next year Checkers will launch its helicopter to get your goods while you in an aeroplane." On social media, users had a field day discussing what they would order while in the water. Ice creams, fizzy drinks, pies, chocolates, chip and dip, biltong, slap chips, biscuits, peanuts and raisins and sunscreen were some of the preferred items on their list. Joel Steenkamp said Checkers used the right time of the year to send a jet ski out. "People are beaching, what better way to market your brand than using a jet ski. I love the idea. I really hope it gets rolled out though. Imagine the cool selfies we could take with the delivery man on his super cool jet ski," said Steenkamp. Charl Bremmer said: "The message here is obviously that they are super fast with deliveries and that it's as fast as a jet ski. Everyone that uses the Sixty60 app knows how fast their delivery service is, so jet ski's is just showing off now. Brilliant though Checkers," said Bremmer.

A man who emerged from the disused mines at Stilfontein on Monday had a letter which conveyed several requests from the illegal miners holed up underground. Some of the requested items in the long list in the letter included mayonnaise, washing powder, tomato sauce, beef, Koo canned beans, soap and deodorants (roll-on). The letter seen by IOL stated that their relish had finished and therefore they were requesting beef and tinned fish. The letter also stated that rice has been finished and they were requesting additional portions. The illegal miners also wrote that their paraffin supplies have been depleted and they were requesting more. Last week, IOL reported that while food was being sent to the miners at Buffelsfontein goldmine in Stilfontein, the High Court in Pretoria found that the police were in breach of the court order which allowed the community, volunteers, and charitable organisations to provide essentials such as food and water to the miners. This was after a community-based organisation, the Mining Affected Community in Action (Macua), again approached the court following Sunday’s ruling that the SA Police Service (SAPS) must for now allow miners at Stilfontein to immediately be supplied with food, water, and medication from the community and charitable organisations. Macua, in an affidavit handed to court, said in spite of the SAPS being served with the court order, officials stationed at the Stilfontein Gold Mine refused to comply with the terms of the order. Judge Nicolene Janse van Nieuwenhuizen said the SAPS was in breach of her order made on Sunday regarding the type and amount of food and other aid to be delivered to the miners. She ordered that the Sheriff be allowed to assist with the implementation of the order. The applicant said that a community member physically served a copy of the order on a SAPS colonel who accepted receipt of the order but refused to acknowledge receipt of the court order in writing. Judge Janse van Nieuwenhuizen was told that the order was also served to several other officials stationed at the Stilfontein Gold Mine; yet, they refused to comply with the terms of the court order. Sabelo Mnguni, national administrator of Macua, said in an affidavit that the SAPS placed arbitrary limitations on the quantity of food that community members intended to lower down to the trapped miners, as well as the number of times food may be sent down. Certain essential food items, including maize meal, canned fish, and soup, were also not allowed to be lowered down at all without any explanation. The illegal miners, suspected to be around 4,000 and from neighbouring countries, have been been trapped underground since October fearing arrest from police who have barricaded all entry points to the abondoned gold mine.

NSNO:Yes you're retrogressing while black SA thrives. Dispels a lot of your delusions of envy. Get a proper diagnosis of what the issue is - the rampant criminality based on the love of money at any cost. You know exactly what I'm talking about as it's also rampant where you come from and is the root cause of your tribal tensions. |
NSNO:For people always claiming to have "freed" SA you clearly have no idea what the struggle against apartheid was about. Sit down and go back to history lessons for some much needed reeducation. |
TheWitchKing:Whatever that is it's a tokunbo Shoprite fit for Nigeria. Shoprite officially pulled out of Nightmare-geria a year ago. |
Mrexcell:And they're not making any money from SA industry at home? Shoprite left Nigeria and has now opened 100s more stores in SA and is doing just fine. |
KingCold:Let me send out Season Greetings to a few of our regular trolls. BigIyanga, sepukku, MadPolitician, Lexy2014, Deescan |
JaceBlaze:LMAO! 😂😂😂 Worry not, this thread is a TKO. Already trolls aren't rushing here like its the opening of an SA visa processing centre. They're hiding in shame. |
BlackfireX:To add salt to your wound, this is a recent report from 2 weeks ago. Are you enjoying tinubulation while black South Africans are living large? 😂😂😂 |
LordBiden:Deal with the facts. This is why you're wailing uncontrollably for SA visa, to strike it rich like black South Africans. Why else would you be bouncing off the walls for being denied entry into a country of "black slaves"? You want our quality of life which Nightmare-geria doesn't have 😂😂😂 |
JaceBlaze:Myth-busting & propaganda-smashing thread. See how the flies will keep away from this one though. |
The African black population group possesses almost 60% of the value of total household wealth and two-thirds of the value of household assets in South Africa, according to research from the University of SA (Unisa) and Momentum Insurance group. The numbers surprised some economists, while others said the numbers indicated life was improving slowly for African people, the biggest population group in the country. The Unisa-Momentum report said the value of South African households’ wealth, expressed in current prices, increased to R19.3 trillion at the end of 2023, which is R1.3 trillion or 7.1% higher compared to the end of 2022. Detailed figures showed that the African black group held 57.3% of total household wealth and 66% of total household assets. Whites held 32.2% of household wealth and 19.7% of household assets. Next came Coloureds, with 6.6% of household wealth and 9.8% of household assets. At the bottom of the ladder were Indian/Asians, with 3.9% of household wealth and 4.6% of household assets. The report noted that the African black sector “owes almost 60% of outstanding debt”. Black Africans make up 82.1% of the country’s population, according to the report, with whites comprising 8.6%. It added: “South African households’ wealth is unequally distributed among demographic groups. “The wealth Gini coefficient was estimated at 0.75 in 2023, mostly because the wealthiest 1% of households possessed 37% of the wealth, while 76% of the wealth was in the hands of the top 10% richest households. “In addition, 51% of households had a negative wealth position, meaning their debt exceeded their assets.” It said that, in general, the African black household group “hold more assets via ownership of residential property, other tangible assets and deposits or cash, compared to the other population groups”. It added: “Compared to the African black population group, the other three population groups accumulate more of their assets via saving and investments.” Economist Dawie Roodt pointed out that the report refers to households and not individuals. “Black households on average consist of more people than white households. “You also have to consider that people in the white households are older than those in black households and older people usually have more assets.” Another economist, prof Jannie Rossouw, said he was surprised at the numbers, which also showed that “the next generation will be better off”. Dr Mark Burke, opposition DA party national spokesperson on appropriations, said he was not surprised by the shift in wealth, adding: “We need to look at real numbers and then come as close as we can to the individual experience of South Africans either getting wealthier, or poorer.” “What the report shows is that there is persistent wealth inequality in SA, even within the same demographic groups. The report also said: “The wealthiest households are not necessarily the highest income-earners. Many middle-income households were more successful than high-income households in the wealth accumulation process. “For instance, where the wealthiest 1% of households have an estimated 36.5% of the wealth, the top 1% income-earning households possess an estimated 15.5% of household wealth. This indicates that high-income earners don’t always convert income into wealth.”

Sepukku:Wait till the bus of 15,000 Nigerian deportees from Central African Republic arrives. |

Next time use credible sources - University of South Africa & Momentum Insurance Group. "The results of joint research by Unisa and the Momentum group are bound to stir up a hornet’s nest of controversy, not in the least among politicians who harp on about our country being dominated by wealthy white people. The reality is that, according to the research report, black Africans own almost 60% of the household wealth and two-thirds of household assets in South Africa. Whites, by comparison, hold 32.2% of household wealth and 19.7% of household assets." |
JaceBlaze:LMAO! 😂😂😂😂 |
BigIyanga:Household wealth dummy, not home ownership wealth. See what starvation is doing to una. Sepukku teach your bloda the difference between household wealth and home ownership. See the results of not owning anything of value in your life in Nightmare-geria😂😂😂 |
MadPolitician:You can send the condolences to Zimbabwe for their loss. Extend the condolences to Mozambique as well for those being suffocated underground for 2 months now. It's good you've had your one meal of the day though. Spare a thought for your national team footballers who were starved in a Libyan airport. I hear libyans also periodically lock you guys up in cages. Chai, just remain in Hunger-geria dude, what's this desperation all about? Don't you have things going on for una in Nightmare- geria?😂😂😂 |
BigIyanga:Drop credible sources here that say blacks own 5% of the economy - you're living in lalaland. How can people who own 60% of household wealth in SA be compared to Zamfara state?😂😂😂 I'll be waiting on your proof, lying sucker. Maybe it's hunger pains that's making you delusional.
|
MadPolitician:I'm not the one sobbing for Botswana and Namibian visa, you are. So that tells the whole wide world that black South Africans have it much better than Nigerians. Have you eaten today? |
TheWitchKing:Lol kingcold, fix your character o!😂😂😂 |
MadPolitician:Operational mines like most other big business still pay taxes to the black government, development didn't stop with the apartheid regime. Maybe in Nigeria business stopped paying taxes when oyinbo left in the 1950s - i wouldn't be surprised judging by the poor state of your country that's left you all wailing for SA visas. Like i said, open your borders to fulani herdsmen from across Worst Africa to vandalise and steal your oil wealth in the name of African unity. Thereafter you can celebrate illegal mining in SA. |
JaceBlaze:They're also drug dealers and scammers, and most of them condone the actions of drug dealers and scammers. Talk about being unhinged. All this while being deeply religious. What irony. |
