kingbee90:It's poverty porn. South Africans have money for brand new wrapping paper hence Shoprite hasn't shutdown like in Nigeria where you people didn't have spending power. |
free2ryhme:At least SA pigs have something eat (Zimbabweans) - what are you having for super for your one meal of the day? I hear sometimes you eat once every 2 days now. Sorry for you o. |
free2ryhme:Quote SA poverty levels under apartheid and compare with Hunger-geria. It's even worse now for you because even just the mention of the word rice causes a stampede😂😂😂 Go mingle with other starving kids and pick flies from each others cracked lips and kwashiorkor bellies, I ain't got time for you. |
free2ryhme:We've never been poor like you guys hence almost a million views for the video because its something weird for our nature. Poverty porn. |
kingbee90:You invented poverty before SA? What an achievement Mr Rice Stampede-gerian 👎🏾😂😂😂 |
Sharpsharp00123:Go scavenge for food, Rice Stampede-gerian. |
christejames:Thick skulls need consistent drumming. No offense either. |
EmperorCaesar:You wish. SA is not tinubulated and never will be. Shoprite knowing where it's bread is buttered, not in Hunger-geria where there's zero market. https://www.news24.com/news24/bi-archive/shoprite-to-open-275-new-stores-at-a-minimum-in-2023-225-will-be-in-sa-2022-9

christejames:Wow you guys have been starving for the longest of time. Clearly rice stampedes aren't a new thing. South Africans actually buy brand new wrapping paper for school books. It's the norm. |
One young man has captivated South Africa's attention with his genius hack, which has gone viral on social media. The boy's creativity, as seen in an online clip, left South Africans in awe after he used KFC packaging to wrap his school books. @somilazweni's resourceful act was shared on TikTok, where the student proudly showcased his neatly covered books, sparking admiration and conversations about innovative ways to save money. The video has over 900,000 views, 89,000 likes and 1,790 comments. SA schools reopen for the first term of the year on January 13. INEXPENSIVE WAYS TO COVER SCHOOL BOOKS Back-to-school expenses are often quite high, so to ease the load, one can use these budget-friendly ways to cover school books using recyclable materials in the house. Newspaper: Use old newspapers as covers. They are affordable, eco-friendly, and can be decorated with markers or stickers for a fun look. Brown Paper Bags: Make use of brown grocery bags as durable book covers. Cut them to size and personalise them with drawings or labels. Recycled Calendar Pages: Large, vibrant calendar pages can be repurposed into beautiful, functional book covers. Reused Wrapping Plastic: Save plastic wraps from packages or other items to use as waterproof book covers. Old Magazines or Posters: Use large pages from old magazines or posters to create unique covers. Gift Wrap: Repurpose leftover gift wrap to add a colourful touch to school books.

South Africa’s Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie has given his support to calls for a boycott of Afghanistan at the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan, adding his voice to those of British politicians who have called on England not to play the South Asian nation at the tournament next month. “Cricket South Africa, the federations of other countries and the ICC (International Cricket Council) will have to think carefully about the message the sport of cricket wishes to send the world, and especially the women in sports,” he said in a statement on Thursday. “It is not for me as the sports minister to make the final decision on whether South Africa should honour cricketing fixtures against Afghanistan. If it was my decision, then it certainly would not happen.” England and South Africa share the same group with Afghanistan in the one-day international (ODI) competition and are under pressure to boycott the fixtures in response to the Taliban government’s crackdown on women’s rights since returning to power in August 2021. Cricket giants South Africa are scheduled to open their Champions Trophy schedule against Afghanistan in Karachi on February 21 but McKenzie urged his country’s cricket governing body not to honour the fixture. “As a man who comes from a race that was not allowed equal access to sporting opportunities during Apartheid, it would be hypocritical and immoral to look the other way today when the same is being done towards women anywhere in the world,” he added. More than 160 British politicians have signed a cross-party letter to the England and Wales Cricket Board, calling for a boycott of England’s fixture against Afghanistan in Lahore on February 26. ECB chief executive Richard Gould responded by calling for a uniform approach from all member nations towards Afghanistan’s participation in international cricket. Australia are the other team scheduled to take on Afghanistan, in Lahore on February 28. Cricket Australia indefinitely postponed a bilateral men’s Twenty 20 series against Afghanistan last March citing “deteriorating human rights for women and girls in the country under Taliban rule” but they did play them at the World Cup in India in late 2023 and at the T20 World Cup last June. Cricket Australia chairman Mike Baird last month said he was “very proud of the position we’ve taken” after they were accused of hypocrisy. “We’ve taken a position, and we’re proudly standing up where we think we should,” he said.

Video with English commentary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORAckMfnfuM?si=GyD37L0sSkOfy8-B What was supposed to be a birthday celebration with friends in Lagos, Nigeria, turned sour when the birthday girl died. According to the Vale family in Rustenburg, North West, their daughter Primrose Happy Vale, 29, passed away on December 22 while visiting friends for the holiday season. Her father, Orlando, stated that he heard that his daughter died from malaria in Lagos. He only got the news a week after her passing. TRAVELLED TO NIGERIA FOR HER BIRTHDAY “I last spoke to my daughter on 21 December and after that when I called she didn’t pick up. Even on her birthday on Christmas Day, I called and texted but there was no response. “I couldn’t reach her until I received a call from her friend on 28 December informing me that my child had passed away,” said the father. The deceased, who worked as a makeup artist in Cape Town, travelled to Nigeria to celebrate her birthday. She travelled with a friend her father was allegedly unaware of. “She went there to enjoy December and was going to come back after New Year’s Day. I don’t know who she went to visit but I know it was her friends.” The pensioner was told that he would need money in order to return his daughter’s body to South Africa. FATHER ASKS FOR HELP TO BRING BODY BACK TO SA Sobbing, Primrose’s father asked South Africans for financial assistance to repatriate the body of a his daughter. “We are currently in the dark and desperately want to see her body. And we are heartbroken that she is gone. We went to Home Affairs and they said it would cost 50, 000 rands (4-million naira) to bring her back so we can have a burial for her. “I’m a pensioner and cannot afford that much money and I am asking people for help. “We will be happy when we see her body.” INCIDENT HAS DIVIDED SOCIAL MEDIA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_k7tF0NzRg?si=pLfKbc6IRVxp7Vbd The incident has divided social media, with South Africans questioning how her father could allow her to leave a 10 year old child and visit a foreign country without leaving behind details of her trip, her host and where she would be staying. Others are using the incident as a warning to local girls against human trafficking. VIDEOS OF HER BEING ENTERTAINED BY A NIGERIAN MAN Primrose’s death started trending on social media a few days ago when videos of her and her alleged Nigerian host were circulated. In the videos she is seen dining with the man on a luxury boat. In another video she can be seen twerking against the same man, who was rapping songs about how he is enjoying life. And in all the videos, she seemed happy as the man fondled her. Later a video of her in what looked like a hospital bed with a drip attached to her hand emerged. She looked really unwell. However, upon news of her death, the same man came to social media and vehemently denied that she was visiting him. He said in a series of posts that Primrose was in Nigeria to visit some man, not him. He was only dining with her because he knew her from his previous visits to South Africa. But in all his posts he failed to give details of the mysterious man that Primrose was visiting. She was working as a makeup artist in Cape Town, and her mysterious host allegedly paid for her to fly to Nigeria. The visit was allegedly for her birthday on Christmas Day. https://sundayworld.co.za/news/sa-family-seeks-help-after-daughter-dies-while-visiting-nigeria/#:~:text=What%20was%20supposed%20to%20be,friends%20for%20the%20holiday%20season

Bidvest Bank 😂😂😂 Gosh, the bank has like just 3 branches in SA. Access Bank trying to come in through the back door coz no South African would trust a Nigerian company to handle their finances. This is the death nail for Bidvest once people hear about the Nigerian link. |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOQyZGMVf0I?si=8QPsEroa4GCn9oCn As a result of what AmaZulu King Misuzulu KaZwelithini has called "a disintegrated marriage", he has filed papers to institute divorce action against one of his wives. The papers filed in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg state that there are no assets and liabilities in the joint estate worth mentioning, and the parties have already divided their personal belongings between themselves. The queen, who News24 won't name to protect the children, has filed a notice of intention to defend the divorce action. News24 is in possession of these papers. According to the king, the marriage has reached a state of disintegration with no reasonable prospect of being restored. "Aside from communication regarding issues concerning the parties' children, there is no meaningful communication between the parties. "The parties have, on several occasions, experienced trouble with their marriage and tried to restore the relationship without success. The parties have not lived together as husband and wife for a continuous period of at least one year immediately prior to the date of the institution of the action," says the king in the court papers. The papers also outline spousal maintenance for the queen and the king's sole responsibility for the maintenance of the children. "The plaintiff (the king) tenders to the defendant (the queen) rehabilitative maintenance in the amount of R20 000 for a period of 12 months from the date on which the decree of divorce is granted." The king also seeks an order that the queen be liable for costs should she defend the divorce action. Cluster leader of African languages and linguistics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and an expert on Zulu culture, Dr Gugu Mazibuko, weighed in on the divorce, which is a first in the Zulu royal household. She said: Traditionally, in a polygamous household, if a wife has done something wrong, she is not sent home or divorced; she would be built a home elsewhere but still be part of the family, and she would be required to perform a ceremony in apology of her wrong actions. "With modernisation, even monarchies operate under the Constitution; everyone has the right to exercise their rights; we are living in a time where traditions are now challenged by modernisation," she said. Mazibuko said tradition and culture have changed with time. "Things have changed in any household due to cultures evolving with the times." Unconfirmed reports suggest the king will hold a marriage ceremony on 26 January for Queen Nomzamo Myeni (third wife), whom he has paid lobola (bride price) for.
