thatigboman: RandDigital, u this very black, very poor, very xenophobic zulu illiterate. U have been here spewing all manners of disinformation against Nigeria and Nigerians in a Nigerian platform. Lazy mquobotti poor black South african. When I have your time, I will finish u with facts. Watch "Cry Freedom" a movie on Steve biko's death. Where a white man told the journalist "they say we colonised this country. We didn't. We built the country from foundation up". And showed pictures of the process in his house on the walls, which all whites in south africa have.
Where did you get money to get drunk in this traumatic tinubulated Hunger-gerian Yuletide?
South Africans are on high alert after reports that 6,000 prisoners escaped as tensions continue to rise in Mozambique. The country is in the middle of mass protests following the announcement of the recent election results. The ruling party, Frelimo, were declared the winner, but violent protests across the country greeted the announcement. The protests also negatively affected the South Africa economy, as it forced the closure of the Lebombo border.
SABC News reports that 6,000 prisoners have escaped the Maximum Security Prison in Machava Suburb, Maputo.
Other social media posts indicate that the number is only 2,500. The prisoners managed to overpower guards and escaped with a number of AK47 rifles on Christmas Day.
It’s also been reported that civilians assisted the prisoners in making their escapes.
Social media users are not only worried that so many dangerous prisoners are out on the streets but also about where they could go next. Many South Africans are under the impression that they will enter the country and commit crimes here, given how easy it is to cross the border illegally. Citizens also have little faith in the government's ability to deal with the matter, and recently criticised ruling ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula for congratulating Frelimo on their victory (a fellow former liberation movement).
The South African government spoke up about the violent protests in Mozambique. The Department of International Relations and Cooperation expressed concern about the disruptive protests. The department called for calm in the country and urged the Mozambican government to commit to dialogue.
boxypane: More so, you didn't need to call your Prof to explain GDP to you. Slave slave... Even with $400b generated, it still can't buy you freedom. Enjoy your shackles till you end.
Your $250b can't buy you food or palliatives. Happy "Traumatic Yuletide"!! To quote your Punch newspaper 😂😂😂
boxypane: My joy this morning is that you have been schooled about your slavery status. A tag that you will carry for the rest of your xenophobic life. And for knowledge sake, the tag $250b is revenue not GDP. A stalk observation of how poor your education system is. What do you guys know aside dancing like a kangaroo? At this point, I drop the mic
You dropping the mic due to hunger dizziness. $250 b revenue/gdp, it's still shared among half a billion hungry lots. Same applies in SA - $400b revenue/gdp divided by 60 million still beats yours hands down, Loser! 😂😂😂
boxypane: Animal from the South, it's obvious your education system is flawed or probably meant for only your slave masters!!! Anofia. You were discovered to be a dullard, hence no need to waste fees on you. Please give the phone back to the original owner.
Only Hunger-gerians know how to divide a measly $250 billion oil gdp amongst 300 million starving lots 😂😂😂 SA population of 60 million (including developers & sundry) share $400billion. No wonder SA visa is so sought after in Japageria.
boxypane: I'm glad you showed your self stupid with the analysis you brought back dog. It's obvious your school only thought you reading and writing and not comprehension. What good is a dog with a rotten fetch... You can keep whining like the slave you are all day.
You've been skooled. Now run along and showcase your new found wisdom, sucka!
YoungBlackRico: That's the point, majority of their population can't afford to travel.
Since when is japa 'travelling'?😂😂😂
Isn't japa when your parents sell off their land so you can go drown in the Mediterranean, be enslaved in a libyan cage or be a moving xenophobia shooting target in SA?
On occasions the few of you travel you overstay and disappear without a trace in the host country 😂😂😂. Isn't that why you're high risk in many countries?
boxypane: So you see that as a growing Economy? Please enlighten me about your GDP for the past 4 years... I can see you finally embraced your slavery tag. Hey dog!!! Fetch your GDP statistics... Remember to bring back the stick.
In 1994 SA economy was less than $100 billion and bankrupt. Black government paid off most of the apartheid debt and grew the economy to over $400 billion which is roughly where it's sitting right now as Africa's best - Corruption-geria languishing at 4th spot everytime the price of oil drops or tribulation sets in 😂😂😂
My dog's back with its leftover Christmas lunch. It's looking to share with you in Hunger-geria. What's your address? 😂😂😂
boxypane: So you actually think the South African economy is what it is because of the hard work of you block headed SadAfrican? I thought being a slave in your own country will at least trigger some aota of sense? Wow! A new low has been discovered.
A new low is your coping mechanism for everytime you hear SA is progressing. Praise the same whites as well when Botswana and Rwanda do well. Not our fault you ruined your own country, blacks have ruled SA for 30 years and its growing from strength to strength. Is that not why SA visa is like gold in Japageria? 😂😂😂
boxypane: SadAfrican, we will always best you lots in any form you see it. It's not our fault Mandella sold you into mental slavery rather than allow a true fight for freedom that will most probably wipe out incomplete genes like yours
What do you know about Mandela? Corruption-geria has never and will never produce any leader like him or his comrades like Tambo and Sisulu. All you have is tinubulation, you enjoying your Christmas hunger? 😂😂😂
boxypane: And your uncircumcised country is busy fighting a lost battle against Israel in the Hague. Or are you angry South Africa are more of bows and arrows and girls with big bom rather than I.T skills, social media presence and still emerging rather than being stagnant at point zero. Any how you see it, you all owe your past and present and future to God and Nigeria.
Our future will be defined by very strict visa requirements for developers til kingdom come. Don't know what you can do about that other than living as as illegal aliens and being subject to profiling for the rest of your miserable lives, since you ruined your own country. Your choice 😂😂😂
antiMuhamad: At this rate, I am convinced a Nigerian fingered your mother's old puss*y to death. You are so obsessed with Nigerians the way MuhamMAD was obsessed with small girls.
You have my mother's old vjj on your mind so early in the morning? No wonder you trek millions of kilometers on barefoot to SA to breathe our air 😂😂😂. Visa still DENIED!
It's the truth. Nigerians were bouncing off the walls for much of 2024 at the mere mention of the word SA. Started with heart attacks at AFCON in February and ended with endless wailing for SA visas in December after South Africans tried to block the 5-year deal. In between was just wotowoto peppering month after month.
Softmirror: Our style of Democracy is the American style.
What about the style of US democracy is it that stops them from trekking to work other than that their racist policies created inequality, high crime rates and international terrorism which are the main reasons they can't walk freely on the streets, unlike the Dutch PM?
In the intricate landscape of African international relations, the relationship between South Africa and Nigeria has become a focal point of tension, misconception, and resilient diplomacy.
Despite escalating social media conflicts and isolated incidents, senior diplomatic officials insist that the core of bilateral relations remains strong and multifaceted.
SA Vs NIGERIA SOCIAL MEDIA MIRAGE
Social media has emerged as a new arena for national rivalries.
In August 2024, South African users orchestrated mass cancellations of Uber and Bolt rides in Nigeria, and Nigeria reciprocated, demonstrating the potential for digital platforms to amplify tensions.
South Africa’s head of Public Diplomacy Clayton Monyela told The Citizen “Social media is not representative of the views of South Africans or Nigerians”.
“The debate on social media is just a very small aspect, and the people posting online certainly don’t represent the majority views of either country.”
Monyela argues that the diplomatic relationship between Nigeria and South Africa remains “strong, cordial, and mutually beneficial” across political, trade, and social dimensions.
He pointed to recent high-level interactions as evidence, including President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Cape Town where he led a significant delegation and was welcomed as a respected continental leader.
NIGERIA XENOPHOBIA CAUTION 'TOTALLY UNNECESSARY!'
Despite the diplomatic reassurances, several recent incidents have tested the bilateral relationship:
In February 2024, Nigeria’s High Commission in Pretoria issued a warning to its citizens about potential threats during the Africa Cup of Nations semifinal.
The advisory, which referenced “inflammatory online comments” and threats against “Nigerians cooking jollof rice” drew sharp criticism from South African officials.
Monyela swiftly responded.
“Bafana Bafana has played the Super Eagles many times, and there’s no history of soccer hooliganism associated with the outcome of such encounters. South Africans pose no threat to Nigerians… This is totally unnecessary!”
ENTERTAINMENT RIVALRY?
The “diplomatic chill” may have also impacted cultural exchanges.
Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr saw her Johannesburg and Cape Town shows cancelled due to her team’s visa applications being denied.
Similarly, Nigeria’s under-18 basketball team initially faced visa challenges for the FIBA U-18 Afrobasket tournament in Cape Town, an incident the Nigerian Basketball Federation condemned as “against the spirit of sportsmanship.”
The cultural sphere has become another site of competition, particularly in music.
The rivalry between Nigeria’s Afrobeats and South Africa’s Amapiano has sparked passionate online debates.
Even the Grammy Awards became a battleground when South African popstar Tyla won the inaugural Best African Music Performance category, beating four Nigerian nominees.
CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA INVESTIGATION
The relationship has also been tested by complex identity issues. In October 2023, South African Home Affairs initiated an investigation into the citizenship of a Soweto-born law student, Chidimma Adetshina, and her Mozambican-born mother, referring the case to the Hawks for criminal investigation.
Adetshina’s father is Nigerian and she went to the country after her troubles in South Africa. There she competed and won the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, and later runner-up at the international Miss Universe pageant.
‘STRONG AND CORDIAL '
Monyela urged a more nuanced understanding of bilateral relations.
“The interactions between our countries at the head of state, administration, and senior officials level demonstrate our strong connection,” he explained.
He acknowledged specific challenges, such as crime and immigration concerns, but emphasised that these are being addressed through proper governmental channels.
“Diplomatic relations between Nigeria and South Africa are strong and cordial,” he reiterates. “The interactions between our countries at various levels demonstrate a commitment to mutual understanding and cooperation.”
DeeScan: south Africans should be banned from visiting a ny other African countries due to their xenophobe nature ...
DeeSCAM you should be banned in much of the world. I see Interpol is frantically looking for una on the frontpage for human & drug trafficking. Are you the unnamed 15th suspect😂😂😂
JaceBlaze: Last I checked it was your artists booking flight tickets to come and feature with SA artists while SA can't even remember Nigeria's geographical position on the African map. You come to us even when we are not thinking about you lol.I heard the dominant genre on nightlife scene is South African Amapiano😜😂😂😂
Samantha125: I don't like this account of yours, but how can you say your family is boring when this is probably the only time you'll get to spend time with you family throughout the year?
I honestly wish I was at home with my family at this moment fixing those Christmas lights, writing down the dishes to be prepared tomorrow and just having everyone under the same roof doing something around the house... But at the same time, I don't want to leave my husband to come home to an empty house after work on Christmas day.
But come new year's, I'm going home to get lit with my sisters... When I entered December, I left my introverted self back in November and I shall see it once again in January...
