I had same error issue so i decided to stay all night to find a solution...

For those who are having error based on your build number, this is the link to the last OTA update that changes Build Number to 20121208...

Once downloaded you can install through recovery. Rename as Update.zip and place in the root of your Sd Card (not in a folder) and update via SD CARD... after installation it will load 112 Apps then go to Settings - about - software update. check for update and YAGA!!!! Your marshmallow OTA comes up... I don't think it is that straightforward because I'm on that build 20151208 but yet to receive marshmallow. Updates will eventually get to all hot 2 users but at a slow pace. Best thing would be to flash.

Boss I have finally rooted the phone. The process you showed me on whatsapp was it, only thing we missed was to also flash the recovery enabler too. I flashed the recovery enabler thingy and I rooted without ish.

If you're rooted, titanium backup is your best option as it not only backup the apk but it pretty much back up everything, the data and settings. But if you aren't rooted, then I'll suggest you go to the playstore to find one, i'm sure you're find one you like.
Would have suggested helium but it has a lengthy setup process.

Those eonomy that are solely reliable on oil and gas, like the Russians, Saudi Arabians, The UAE, Venezuelans etc are having a very hard time these days as the price of crude oil is at its lowest point in decades. Unfortunately Nigeria is no exception - hence the need for diversification in all of this economy. Anyway what the likes of the Russian, the Saudis etc has going for them is that for years, the money gotten from the sale of crude oil were put to good use in infrastructure, education, health, transport, youth empowerment, welfare system etc now my question is what did Nigeria (PDP) do with our crude oil earnings over the years especially when crude oil was at its highest price? Did we invest into our economy like the aforementioned countries or did our politicians simply squandered it, thinking with that crockroach brain that the price of crude oil was never going to come down one day. Yea they squandered Nigeria's money on their friends, girlfriends, political allies, pastors, imams etc Gosh in fact I'm done with Nigeria issues jor!

I know these things - don't root your hot 2 unless you want a bricked phone when you do update blah blah blah I find this extremely odd coming from a Samsung phone! I have gotten past the whole root thing for now. There seem to be nohing I can do after all. My grudge with infinix is why don't they let us the users determine how system updates are delivered to us The last update was well over 600mb of absolute nothingness, what if I had just 100mb left and I was managing this 100mb for the rest of the month?! What this means is that infinix will just waste my 100mb of to download a crap of an update just like that without my consent whatsoever

Your phone will brick if you attempt to install any update on your rooted phone. So that means no installing of updates, including Android Marshmallow, which is one of the best selling point of ihot2.
The only way out is to unroot it, and then flash back the AndroidOne Lollipop to your phone, or if you insist on installing update without reverting to Android One, you have to manually flash such ROMs. Is that clear enough bro?
