A letter written by Always-In-Trouble to his Dear Mother, Enjoy,

Dear Mother,
May the good Lord grant you Long life, Joy, and Prosperity as you celebrate your 51st Birthday.
Humbly, I plead that you forgive me for writing you late; this is due to certain predicaments on me at the moment.

Sweet mother, life has not been fair to me! In it I have seen more pain than my years, more rain than sunny days, a few smiles and many tears. But I will neither load you wit, h the burden of my woes nor blame you for my misfortunes.
This is because you have left resources that will help me grow in uncle Government's care.

Mum, uncle has proved time and over again that he cares nothing about me. With your wealth he trains his kids in the best schools abroad while I struggle to learn here.
Just last week, my lecturers refused to teach because Uncle did not pay them well.

Last week also, I broke up with Joy; my childhood crush and long time girlfriend.
She has a smile as bright as my future, eyes that see through me, a voice that will fascinate Angels and a physique so beautiful it hurts the beholder.
She looks just like you mum and I loved her.

I never knew she sleeps with men for money; her excuse being that she does so not because she likes to, but because she has to survive and foot her academic bills.
Although our break-up has left me with a wound too deep to heal soon, I do not blame her for choosing that path, as schooling is expensive and her folks are not wealthy.

She is one among many female students who engage in prostitution to pay their way through college.
This hurt has made me take to smoking, and right now marijuana has blackened my heart so much it affects my thoughts.

Mum, I feel rejected by society, friends and family. And at this moment the only family I know are men who have sworn their allegiance to my favorite colour, and by blood have vowed their eternal fraternity.

The formation of this brotherhood was to fight societal ills and oppression, but uncle Government has corrupted their mission. I say so because he has given them weapons to oppress the less powerful, scare his opponents and wipe out his enemies.

I do not support violence therefore, I want to renunce my allegiance to this brotherhood. My only fear is not that I may end up with a bullet in my skull, but the fact that such an event will cause you pain and sorrow.

Dear mother, I know I have said things you are not proud of, please forgive me. For I am only but a child, young and inexperienced, and all I have ever done, I learnt from the ghetto I grew in and the elders you asked to lead me.

Dear mother, I know you share in my unhappiness, I share in yours too. I remain one among your many children, and my greatest wish is to make you happy.
I know you want the best for me. So, I solemnly vow to be the man you want me to be.
Keep having faith in me mum, I'll do you proud.

Sincerely yours
Always-In-Trouble

Dude, don't get so worked up. It's a public forum, you can expect divergent views. While u're @ it, learn not 2 throw stones if u reside in a glass house! Hint, hint. . . take another look @ your statement. wink
i understand man. it pisses me off when people don't embrace progress. whack or not, the movie is definitely a first in the country, so, if for nothing else, deserves commendations.

Education / Unique Uniport! by rapaddict(m): 7:23pm On Mar 03, 2010
I told a friend, “I’m a Unique Uniport Student.” and dude was like “Unique?” Hell yeah! Or ain’t we? Still in doubt of our uniqueness, let me paint you a picture (with words) of how and why we truly are Unique.
First, the University of Port Harcourt is a minute version of the Nigerian State. So, all a tourist or researcher needs to know about the country is embodied within the walls of this great institution. For example; most times, the struggle to get a campus shuttle is typical of Lagos motor parks. Student Group elections are a prototype of INEC elections; political godfatherism, vote rigging, violence at the polls etc. Our V.Cs are like Nigerian presidents, you hardly see them (did I hear you say Yar’A’doer?), and a typical day in U.P. is not just stress filled but could be highly annoying. From idiots who read out textbooks word for word and call it teaching to power-drunk ‘soldier wannabes’ who derive pleasure in man handling fellow students because they (soldier wannabes) have been through a little drilling and handed khakis. But, just like the Nigerians we are, we suffer and smile! Or, who wouldn’t smile at the sight of a lecturer who not only looks like a madman but reeks of Rum and Weed! I’m not trying to down-talk this great institution, not when I’m a part of it. But these, and many more a part of the reason why we are not referred to as ‘Great’ but ‘Unique’.
Opinions they say are like as5h0les, everybody has one. These are my opinions on Uniport’s Uniqueness, and so I use this medium to welcome you all, prospective students, freshers, returning students, graduates, lovers and haters of the University of Port Harcourt to my blog. Rugged, Raw and Real. I go by the alias of Always-In-Trouble and I solemnly swear to keep you entertained regularly with Rugged, Raw and Real truths.
Till when next I make my pen ‘cum’ on paper, stay focused and remember “even though all work and no play makes Obi a dull boy, the code remains Acada before gbamurere.”
One love y’all.

BLING is a really nice innitiative. we all should be proud of the fact that these artistes have come together to do something about the way nigeria's name's being muddied. what i dont understand is why people keep bringing the issue of modenine and ruggedman into matters like this. i think its plain stupid to spoil a good gist like this with the mode and rugged talk.

Whats up folks. I heard about this case last week and i really am surprised to read about it no nairaland. Never knew it was this big. I heard about the case because imo is from my place and he's a distant uncle. His source of wealth has always been questionable. This is as a result of how quick he rose to the limelight and his flamboyant lifestyle since. His lawyer saying he does not live extravagantly is like saying dogs dont like bones. He built a mansion in less than 3 months! Drives a bulletproofed hummer, has a 2008 escalade in his garage. But, he put a lot of his money into good use though. Built school blocks, put street lights in our community, made people car owners, I pray the united states temper justice with mercy.
