Phones › If You've Ever Created A Yahoo Account, Take These Steps Immediately To Protect by rapcy(op): 8:44am On Sep 24, 2016
According to Recode, about 500 million accounts were hacked. Yahoo earlier on today confirmed it.
Here is what Recode wrote about it.
If you’ve ever signed up for an account with Yahoo, there’s cause for concern. The company confirmed today, after Recode broke the story last night, that 500 million user accounts were breached in a massive hack.

Yahoo says the attack likely included email addresses, passwords, names and phone numbers — not payment card data or bank account information.
But our email accounts are packed with personal information. We send people we trust our account details for all kinds of services over email.
If you have a Yahoo account, here’s what you should do.
Change all your passwords
Not just your Yahoo account, make a list of all the online accounts where you store sensitive information. Update all your passwords to make them long and strong. Be sure to give each separate account a unique password, too. No repeats.
Review old emails, delete sensitive content and disconnect accounts
If your Yahoo account information is indeed for sale, someone can hack into your email and find information you’d rather keep locked safe. Search your emails for sensitive correspondence, delete liberally and empty the trash folder.
Then visit the account settings of services you’ve connected to your Yahoo account and disconnect them immediately.
Switch to Gmail or use encryption
Gmail is endorsed by security researchers for being a secure service that most people can trust. If you want an airtight layer of protection, you can always setup a PGP key so only the intended recipient can decrypt your emails.
Enable two-factor authentication for all accounts and update apps.
Most services offer the option to text a code to a phone number on file for your account so only a person with both your password and your cellphone can access. Make sure all your apps and services are fully updated to take advantage of any recent security improvements.
Don’t open shady emails
Hackers often try to bait people into opening emails or attachments that may contain malware. Don’t open the email if you’re unsure. And if you do open an email and then decide it might be a hacker, do not open the attachments. Delete it.

Weird observation! Well this is an issue of distance between your mifi device and your laptop.

First try connecting another device such as another laptop or a phone to your mifi and compare the distance at which it connects. This way you will be able to know if the problem is coming from your laptop or the mifi signal .
Thank you. Few others connect. Apart from the wifi ish. when my laptop boot up to login screen my trackpad won't work I've to press any key on keyvoard before the mouse starts working. I uninstalled the keyboard and mouse drivers the problem got solved but the mouse becomes slow. Any help?

Good Evening. My hp15 core i3 laptop can see wireless network that is in the next room but cannot connect to it unless I bring the mifi device closer. Plus, I've tried updating the drivers by device manager, Windows update, hp official site, yet it's not giving me any latest driver update.
Sports › John Mikel Obi Admits Paying More Than £30,000 To Help Dream Team VI by rapcy(op): 11:12am On Sep 11, 2016
In an exclusive interview with Goal.com, John Obi Mikel faults the Nigeria Football Federation after he was forced to put up his personal money to help his country (Nigeria) achieve their remarkable bronze medal at Rio 2016.

Acoording to Mikel, they left Nigeria to Brazil on the day of their first match without the Federal Ministry providing any flight for them, on reaching their camp, they grabbed some snacks then headed to the stadium for their accreditation. Read his interview below;

"I think if we talk about the money that I put into the team I think it was more than £30,000. But we just had to do it. I said to myself, 'I won’t let this happen. If I can help, I’ll try to help...

Sometimes there was no food, sometimes there was no pitch to train on, there was no bus to go to the training ground. So all of this was what me and the coach had to figure out, and get money together. I came to the camp. I sat down with the boys in Atlanta and I could see the frustration, the pain and the anger...

Their aim was to play in the Olympics, their goal was to play in the Olympics. And for me being there and seeing what they are going through, they are young boys, they want to start their career and someone in the ministry is trying to crush that dream...

There was just no flight provided by the Nigerian ministry. We planned to leave three or four days before the tournament, but we ended up leaving the day of our first game. It was a difficult one...

I don’t think I have ever seen something like that before, it was crazy. After our last minute flight, we got to the hotel, dropped our bags, grabbed some sandwiches, something to eat. A little bit of food...

Then headed straight back to the stadium because we hadn’t even done our accreditations then, so we had to go there and wait in the line, do our accreditation. It was absolutely hectic. I don’t know how we managed to go onto the pitch and win that game, it was absolutely mind blowing."....

Romance › Love Or Lust by rapcy(op): 2:51pm On Sep 10, 2016
Is it possible to differentiate between when you're in love with someone and when you lust after someone?

Sometimes it's easy to confuse the two. Most of us think we know when we're in love, but I'm not sure we're as self-aware when it comes to lust.

Lust is straight-up unbridled, physical attraction driven mostly by our sexual desires. It's wild, it's hot, and it's fun. And sometimes, those feelings can stick — but often they're fleeting because the heart may or may not be involved.

Love, on the other hand, involves giving yourself entirely, fully, without question to another person for a long time. It's often about caring and forming an emotional connection beyond sexual attraction. The heart is usually involved.

Love is complicated. Lust? Maybe not so much.

Scientifically speaking, lust is actually an altered state of consciousness driven by our primal urge to procreate. Sounds kind of animalistic, right? There's also the whole "honeymoon phase" thing. Dr. Judith Orloff explains that lust is fueled by an idealization of a person in that time and place. We often subconsciously put on blinders to their flaws. She says that can quickly go away once we turn those blinders off and the "real person" emerges.

When you're in love, however, you tend to see the bigger picture — warts and all — and you still choose to engage further than just physically by getting to know the person. There is no idealization. You're present and have your eyes, heart, and mind wide open.

Health › Why You Should Never Ask For A Slice Of Lemon In Your Drink by rapcy(op): 9:14am On Aug 28, 2016
We love a slice of citrus in our drinks for different reasons, we do it because it makes drinks taste fresh, but it’s an indulgence we should consider steering clear of. Why? Because the fruit used tends to be really dirty.

There’s something about citrus that makes us want to put it into every single drink. Beer? A slice of orange. Cuba libra? Lemon. Mojito? Bring on the limes.

Consider this a reminder of what’s lurking in your citrus. According to Yahoo News " A 2007 study published in the Journal of Environmental Health, researchers swabbed lemon slices that were put into their drinks at 21 different restaurants.
They found that almost 70% of those samples produced some kind of microbial growth, and included 25 different microbial species."

The researchers wrote:
“The microbes found on the lemon samples in our investigation all have the potential to cause infectious diseases at various body sites, although the likelihood was not determined in this study.
“Restaurant patrons should be aware that lemon slices added to beverages may include potentially pathogenic microbes.”
Philip Tierno, PhD, clinical professor of microbiology and pathology at New York University School of Medicine and author of The Secret Life of Germs told ELLE UK, “People are touching the lemon in your glass, handling it, cutting it, placing it in a container or a cup, or a glass; and then picking up those slices at a later point in time and dropping them into a drink and putting them on the rim of a glass.”
Yikes.
“You can easily see how those lemon slices and lemon wedges can be contaminated.”
But despite the risks, Tierno told Elle UK he does put a lemon in his drink, but he’ll return a drink if he sees a bartender put their fingers all over the rim of the glass or use a dirty rag to clean the glass. “You have to pay attention,” he said.
You’ve been warned.
